After our Saturday morning visit, we were heading across town through Thorncliffe Park, and we stopped at Swiss Chalet for lunch. It is an average-sized Swiss Chalet, and there were only two tables occupied when we arrived, and a few more were filled while we ate.
SWBMO ordered one of our standards, the Quarter Chicken Dinner with white meat. Nothing special, but rotisserie chicken done right.
I chose the Sweet Heat Salad. I’ve had this dish at several locations, but this one seemed to have extra mandarin oranges and red peppers, making the dish look more colourful than usual. Also, the chicken was moist and tender.
The server was polite and friendly.
I ordered what I usually order at Swiss Chalet ... a Half Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes. I hadn't ordered gravy and though Edith brought it, I passed on it and focused on the Chalet dipping sauce instead. The meal was good. The potatoes were tasty and not salty. The chicken was a good size and moist.
Best sauce ever. High quality, fresh and tasty food. The Chalet sauce is so very flavorful. I even like it on my salad. Seasonal deals are the best value. Always reliable for a fast meal.
