Pleasant surprise but not accessible. I went to Urban Thai because we were in the area. It was a pleasant surprise. We were nostalgic about a glass noodle dish from another Toronto Thai restaurant, so tried the glass noodles here and were very happy with them. It was a very well-seasoned, economical, and filling dish. Service was good. I would definitely go again if I was in the area.
Note that the bathroom in this place is in no way accessible. There is a large step up into the restaurant; and the facilities are downstairs; there is no elevator. Frustrating.
Good food and service too!. Excellent meal, and service. Wasn't very busy at all when we went, and haven't been back during busier times. But still, great experience!
I tried Urban Thai on a friend's suggestion and was reallyimpressed with their fare. I'd avoided this place for a longtime b/c it's looks led me to believe it was part of a chain.The food is fresh though they really only serve dishesthat would appeal to thoroughly North American palate.My other knock for this place is the ambience. Urban Thaiis just a little too bright and sterile for me to enjoy my mealthere, and the television hung in the corner, combined withthe lighting, gives the place something of a public waitingarea. Hence, I usually order from Urban Thai, but I enjoyit when I do.
Love ordering takeout from here. They deliver through Justeat.ca. Delievery is always on time, but I have specific instructions for my delivery that sometimes get missed. I love the golden curry. For 2 people I always order 2 dishes (the curry and a pad thai) and recieve enough to feed 4. The portions are huge! It's not super authentic, but it's tasty!
