My friends and I came here on a Sunday night and were seated right away for ayce. The menu isnt as extensive as you would expect for the price, but the food came quickly and was pretty good.
Pro tip, the veal chop is the same thing as ribs and just oddly named.
The cheesecake was definitely not what was expected with more sponge than cheese cake.
For all you can eat sushi, the selection and quality is really good! Although the hot menu items like udon were not as good, the sushi and sashimi was good and service was fast. They have a private room that holds about 20 and I was there with a large group so that was perfect. The waiters were hospitable, would recommend it and the location can't be beat!
Excellent variety to choose them from their all-you-can-eat specials. Love the salmon and tempura, and so does my date, he loves it. Been there twice, and would go again
The owner is a wizard. He has put spell on the staff to be unhappy and never smile and never thank the customer
You can't compare all you can eat sushi to normal sushi their really is a difference. For all you can eat it's quite good for the price. The service is slow when I've been in the past but I did go when it was fairly busy. If you do end up going at peak hours without a reservation expect a wait to get a table.
Decent sushi place. Pretty average sushi place. They do not over stuff their sushi with too much rice and they are very fast with bringing food out. Service overall to the table was not amazingly friendly, but what can you expect from an AYCE place?
The one surprising thing is that my friend and I got the AYCE menu. A third friend (female) was allowed to just order individual items. Was very nice of them.
One of the best AYCE sushi place in toronto. Lunch menu is limited of course. The dinner menu includes sashimi, seaweed salad, and other great selections. The fish here are fresh! Highly recommended.
Good AYCE for fair price. Honestly, Aji Sai is good for a quick and decent all you can eat. The rolls aren't stuffed with too much rice like most AYCE places. All the food comes out in minutes, the staff is really good (in terms of Asian restaurants) and its fairly inexpensive. I would come back here.
Inconsistent. The sushi here is pretty good and there are great vegetarian options (also delicious cheese wontons!). I love AYCE and this is one of our standby places, but it can be pretty hit-or-miss. The service is generally fairly surly and not super attentive. Sometimes the food is great, sometimes they get it wrong. Most of the time it's worth it though.
Decent ayce. Good food, service was attentive, (although they forgot to give some food i had ordered and ended up giving them at the end), price can be a little much but I come here during lunch which is cheaper! I had a very small table as it was only my bf and I, and getting all the food on the table was tricky. Things I enjoyed were the tempura, makis, katsu, and calamari. Some things that could have been better: the salad(put wayyy to much dressing on it that it was soaking wet), the udon(was meh) and i dont know if it was me, but i felt very thirsty most of the time(msg??). Overall an okay ayce to dine at.
After reading the reviews i was a little worried about the service, but we had no complaints at all about the service. But the rolls where just average and the other items where boring. So I guess all in all it was just okay
Was soooo goood. Great service, great food and great place to hang out too. We been here for hours and they did not mind!! The place is very unique and pretty too!
I really like the place. I had been at Ajisai @Queen West no less than 10 times in the past 6 months, I always like the fresh Salmon, if you like salmon, at here you will taste the most fresh one at GTA. The service I can see the improve with my recently visit. Faster and nicer.
Amazing experience! Worst service my a**. The waitress was attentive and fast. Our order of 80 pieces of rolls came in under 10 min! Good quality sushi and great service. Will definitely be back!
Ive always liked aji sai ... Love their big spider rolls BUT the service is becoming untolerable -.- seriously...there was one who was flirting with girls. Im not sure if i would still want to eat here considering that i'll need to raise your hand up more than 10 times to order.
Good sushi place and not too expensive. Presentation is not really their strong suit but service is very fast, and everything still tastes great and fresh. One of the best dynamite rolls ever! Would come back!
Best place in TO for all you can eat sushi and other Japanese favourites! Fresh ingredients and friendly staff, the sushi chefs are great!
Best AYCE sushi. This is the best---Hands Down--- AYCE sushi in Toronto (I have been to them all), and is just as good if not better than many of the higher priced sushi restaurants in Toronto.
The only problem is the indifference of the wait-staff (mostly because of the language barrier).
If you are looking for an AYCE sushi place with great food, this is the place. Lunch is only $12. Dinner is more expensive at $20, but you do get sashimi.
AVOID KYOTO HOUSE!
A great all you can eat sushi. They have a huge menu and they taste really good! I've really enjoyed my visits there, especially when I'm in the mood for an insane amount of sushi.
I would recommend starting with a big order, because they can take some time and the quality is the best with your first order. I've noticed that the quality goes down slightly (a lot more rice in the maki and rolls) by the 3rd order. But then again, I don't think many make that many orders; however, I certainly did!
Great seaweed salad, yummy rolls, and interesting selections. I personally would avoid the ones with crab meat.
Its decent AYCE. I don't eat much AYCE anymore but my friends love this place so I come since it is still decent sushi (for toronto :P). Sometimes they are fast, sometimes they are slow at making the good. Service is decent for an AYCE place. We always have problems with reservations though. We would make one and for some reason they would never have it when we showed up. Oh well we always got seated.
Not Bad. The food is good, but the place is weird. I went on a bright, sunny day, but inside was so dark. It felt like I was eating sushi in a dark room. Maybe it's better to go at night.
I love this place!. I discovered this place with a few co-workers one day while on a walk around the office, now we frequent here whenever we can sneak away for a 2 hour lunch :)
The food is great - many AYCE places their roles are stuffed with fillers like rice, but at Aji Sai, the rolls are tight knit with all the good stuff. It's true, the service isn't the best, but our strategy is...order right when you sit down and if you anticipate you'll need anything, ask a bit earlier, like for the bill.
Great AYCE. I've had AYCE sushi everywhere in the GTA and this place is definitely top 3. It's usually pretty busy which is a really good sign considering all of its competition downtown. Food is good quality and freshly made (the benefit of being busy as nothing sits around waiting). Service is adequate--bottom line is you get your food and your dishes are picked up (I don't know what else people want from their servers).
Don't listen to the naysayers--their negative experiences were an anomaly, there really aren't any better AYCE places dowtown.
Great fresh sushi and horrible service. Been here often and they often forget some items you've ordered. Try the Bushido Rolls, very good.
Pretty good AYCE sushi! Nothing really incredible, but no complaints either. I've read a few reviews about bad service, but our servers were either quite nice or indifferent, but never rude. I loved the roll with banana in it, definitely something new, and the banana isn't overpowering. Overall nothing super impressive, but an enjoyable experience.
Awesome all you can eat lunch menu. Only 15$, taxes in. Sushi rolls were huge, fresh and well made.
I Like this place. It's one of the better AYCE sushi places downtown- way better than sushi island for instance. Lots of selection and the food is good. They are always busy at dinner and lunch. I personally have always had great service, veryspeedy and they have never forgotten anything. They always bring tea and do refills during, sometes may be hard to grab their attention but theyare really busy. It's no worse than any other busy resto. It's nicely decorated and the food is also have a large veggie option (tofu steak, grilled eggplant etc) if u brought vegetarians w u to eat. I've gone maybe 20+ times and brought friends and family. Never had a bad time!
I had a great experience. the service was fast and friendly, we also didnt have to wait long for our food even though the place was packed. food was great and a lot. definitly worth your money. i'll be back...
General Chicken. Delicious!
Good food with some delicious creative maki rolls.
For AYCE, it's the best around. Ok, so, we all know that AYCE restaurants have to be judged with a lower bar, and compared only to other AYCEats. That being said, when I feel like gorging on Sushi, I go to Aji Sai. The service isn't amazing, but the food quality and presentation really are the best around, and the decor is classy.
Amazing Sushi, but I was really disappointed with the service. Not good at all. Our first waitress was rolling her eyes at us as we were ordering! If you want a nice atmosphere, go elsewhere.
I THINK HIGHLY. Excellent service, Everyone was friendly and food was quick and done to perfection :) Inside joke shawn is a woman but back to aji sai everything was wonderful especially when the lemon in my friends drink kicked his but
Aji Sai is a must try if you're downtown, it's only 12.99 for AYCE lunch!
Their nigiris were decent size and the rolls were pretty good. Overall everything was a little bland but for AYCE, I couldn’t really complain.
And with over 100 items on their menu, you know you've got choice. Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Battered and deep-fried goodness - I love my veggie tempura, more than shrimp tempura, but Aji Sai disrupted this order. It might've been having the squash last that turned me over to the seafood side. Chicken Katsu I've only ever had tonkatsu (pork cutlet) before. We love chicken, so why not try the chicken variety? We only
It seems Queen street is constantly reinventing itself…new restaurants…new condos….new yoga studios. There are the staples: Gandhi’s, New York Sub, Subway and then the newbies: Leslieville Cheese Market and the maybe not so new anymore, Aji Sai Japanese r
This is one of my fave AYCE place to go to....However lately the service has got really really slow and our orders have been getting mixed up or "lost"
I like their menu as there's plenty of items to choose from. If you plan on visiting, go early! If you go around 6-8 you'll probably have to wait for an hour before getting a table
Even though the dinner price is kinda more expensive than any other all you can eat sushi (its around $22 tax included), but i really love their selection of sushi though. The place is nice, the food, but the servers sometimes have bad attitude.
About: Aji Sai is a popular AYCE sushi joint located on the busy street of Queen St W. I arrived at around 1:00 pm and the restaurant was near capacity. Decor: Aji Sai is a modernly decorated AYCE establishment with a hint of Asian fusion. The restaurant was pretty spacious and there are enough space (to get by) in between tables. Price: I went to eat during lunch time, so it was only $12.99 (+ tax + tip). The price was both reasonable and on par with other nearby AYCE. The great thing about AYCE is that you can eat as much or as little as you like. Menu: The lunch menu was printed on a laminated 2-sides pager (first page was the menu and the second page explained the ingredients in the special rolls). The menu itself was relatively extensive (for lunch). There were 12 kinds of sushi, 18 kinds of hand rolls, 30 special rolls, various cooked/hot food, appetizers, soups, salads, ice-cream, etc … Service: The wait for the food was kind of long, as we were seated all the way in the back. The service was pretty decent though. The waitress who tended to our table was pleasant and quick to clear plates. Food: Due to time constraints, as I only had an hour to eat before my meeting, I was unable to ordered a lot of dishes. The veal chop was way too chewy. The chicken teriyaki was tender and sweet. As you can see from the picture; the green salad barely had any dressing on it. I was pretty much eating plain lettuce. The yakitori was good, as the sauce was sweet in flavor. I ordered one salmon roll, two white tuna sashimi, and four salmon sashimi. The overall quality of the sushi was decent. The one complaint that I really have about the sushi was that the rice was too overcooked and tasted mushy. The table turnover rates at Aji Sai are high so the fish was relatively fresh. The sushi pizza tasted pretty good, but the presentation was pretty plain.
Let's face it: despite being super popular, Aji Sai is nothing but an average Japanese restaurant. The regular menu is obviously much more interesting than the "all you can eat" menu, but this it the place to go if you want a safe, satisfying and cheap all you can eat. It never disappoint. I like it among others because it has a fairly good selection of uramaki, maki, and cooked dishes, plus I never had the bad experience of too sticky rice or too much rice, which is disgusting.
