Nice little place with a Mexican vibe. Actual Mexican cook making delicious food! Portions are filling... had to take a lot to go. Server was great and very patient. They have a patio that's almost bigger than the inside dining area where you can enjoy a cold Dos Equis, margarita or a good tequila. Great place to enjoy authentic Mexican food or some drinks.
We had been to this La Mexicana location for dinner several years ago, and we had liked it then. Today we stopped by for lunch, and it wasn't quite as good as I had remembered. Don't get me wrong: It was good today, just not as good as I remembered.
It wasn't too busy at lunchtime, and service was good. We both ordered El Burro, which is a burrito with your choice of meat filling. SWMBO chose pork and I had chicken. In my opinion the chicken wasn't flavourful enough and could have used a bit more seasoning. The pork however was nicely seasoned. The burritos were accompanied by a salad that had a pleasant guacamole and lime dressing.
I've been coming here for years. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it. The food is always amazing as well as the service.
A long-time favourite. I can't remember the first time I ate here. It was probably 20 years ago. It is not a "regular" for me, but every time I go, the food is excellent and tasty. The owners and staff are always very friendly. The food is always freshly prepared. Small adjustments to the dishes are available if you ask (more/less spicy, more salad, less rice, etc.) Mexican beer and soft drinks go well with the meals. Service is good but variable; I have never experienced the lack of service that some others have described here.
This is probably my favorite restaurant. I've been a bunch of times and I've never been disappointed. The service is always good. The only thing is the rice could be better.
La mexicana was recommended to me by my aunt. The staff and food were great. Thank you for helping make my mother's bday memorable! We will be going back for more birthdays and special events.
