Sushi is quite good and their service is quite good also. Their AYCE seems worth it for lunch, but potentially not for dinner as it is 20 bucks.
Waiters can speak mandarin and very helpful. They will affirm the order very careful. The "all you can eat" menu is fair enough. But I really didn't like the decoration there. VERY NON-JAPAN!
This easy to miss restaurant in Baldwin serves some items you may not find elsewhere in the city, especially the tako wasabi during lunch. The main highlight of this restaurant is the star presence of vinegar in the rice, and it complements extremely well with the wasabi and soy sauce.
Many of maki rolls have great flavor, but I must place a warning that the menu does contain a lot of "traps" for maki rolls. What I mean by that is there are items on the menu that unfairly represent the restaurant because of its significant disparity in quality with the rest - they are tear drop shaped, large amount of rice, and insufficient filling. These are various menu items that one should never order, including the ebi and the shichimi maki. (I think THIS is the reason why there is such a disparity in reviews) Eating here requires some all-you-can-eat know-how by the customer.
It is a bit underrated restaurant, but it comes highly recommended for anyone looking for a good affordable bite in the city, and is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Toronto.

Best AYCE downtown. Been going here for many years and never had a bad experience. Good quality sushi. Great choice for AYCE in downtown Toronto. Close to UofT, Kensington Market, Discovery District, etc.
Great Sushi. Always great food! love there Black Dragon sushi ,white tuna maki, spicy salmon crunch , we go Kuni Sushi frequently it is so good, great atmosphere !
Great Value!. I have come here multiple times for their all you can eat sushi. Each time I have come out satisfied. Their menu may be smaller than other all you can eat places but if you come on a less busy night (not fri-sun) you will be given better service and in addition the prices are lower!
The reason many people don't get all they ordered is because they put sushi bar and kitchen items on the same piece of paper when ordering (this is what I did the first time). The waitress informed me the next time that if you want to ensure everything you order gets to your table you should put sushi orders on one paper and kitchen orders on the other.
Favorites include Shrimp Tempura, Spider Roll, Red Dragon Roll and their sashimi is actually surprisingly fresh for all you can eat!
If you don't want to hike too far from the downtown core this is one of the better places.
You get what you pay for!. My husband and our 8-year-old kid come here a lot. No, it's not the best sushi or Japanese food in town, or even close to it. HOWEVER, it's cheap, the menu is extensive (including healthy and low-fat options) and the food arrives FAST, which is key when dining with a little one.
The food is "not bad" in that it's got your sushi all-stars (tuna, salmon, dynamite roll, etc) and contrary to what someone else posted, imy experience from 25+ visits is, it's fresh. Not as in "just came from the ocean fresh" or "the best cut" but fresh as in "perfectly edible and not weird tasting or smelling."
The service varies from friendly and on-the-ball to indifferent-and-slow, but part of the adventure is seeing what part of your order arrives, and what part disappears and what part comes from someone else's order. I mean that in the best possible way, actually!
They like kids, but be prepared to hammer out what the kid AYCE cost is before you order. It may be cheaper to just order for him/her a la carte in some cases.
Still, we were pretty happy with Kuni Sushi Ya, and I took a few photos to share with other sushi lovers! (Yes, this is another scheduled post… I have so many things to write about and so many great places and things to share!) Interior of Kuni Sushi Ya (iPhone photo) The outside is fairly easy to miss, but the interior is spacious and well-decorated, with discreet lighting that changes colour (which is kind of interesting, and kind of funny.. it means each of my photos might have a certain different light cast upon them. While we were there the roads were still very bad due to snow, so the restaurant was largely empty, though a few other customers came in while we were there. There was very little staff as well, but they were prompt and attentive. gyoza (iPhone Photo) We went for the
