My first meal in Canada was at this place. I ordered some spring rolls and hot beef sandwich. Now I was expecting a traditional sandwich like a club sandwich or something, but was pleasantly surprised when what I got was bread covered in sauce and really good beef slices. It was not a bad deal. And I now know what a hot sandwich is. The rolls were also crispy and well done. Nice portion size too. For me a very good meal it was.

I've been curious about this little hole in the wall since I moved to the neighborhood in September. Tonight was the perfect night for comfort food, and the Rib House delivered. The ribs fell off the bone with their tender, slow roasted, smokey-sweet goodness. My son had finished his half rack before I finished my coleslaw, which was the only disappointment... A little oily. The fries were amazing. Usually I don't eat fries, but they were crispy on the outside, and soft like pillows on the inside. They were really friendly too.. We'll definitely be back!

Take-out rocks. I've lived in the neighbourhood for 15 years. Avoided the Rib House for 14.5 years. The clientele is a bit sketch - seemed a bit like they'd been kicked out of the Legion across the street.

People kept recommending the food.

ok ok ok. Finally - we ordered the ribs for takeout. Amazing!

Billy the cook, in his pristine cook's whites, makes fabulous ribs - he finishes them with a swab of honey just before putting them into your clamshell. A half-rack of ribs, with fries, coleslaw and a soft white bun is $10. Burger/fries - $5. We tried the teriyaki short ribs on the advice of a regular there - "they're great if you've got teeth"- they were quite good, but not as fabulous as the ribs. One of the other regulars (they tend to come out and chat with me when I wait outside with the dogs) has strongly recommended the Saturday/Sunday hangover breakfasts - apparently Billy starts serving them around noon/1 p.m.

Really really terrific ribs at a surprising pricepoint - order ém, wait for ém, take them home and scarf ém down. Worth being intrepid on Woodbine.

Yum Yum. This well known East York greasy spoon, offers a variety of food choices that rarely disappoint. I have never encountered a meal that didn't leave me , or my taste buds satisfied . The prices are more than modest and the alcohol is reasonably priced (much cheaper than most establishments). I would recommend anything off the menu, but the omlettes are especially excellent.
Enjoy!
