Came in from out-of-town and just celebrated a gathering of 50 at Whelan's Gate. Steve and his amazing staff helped make the night Memo-rable. Highly recommend!

This was my second time at the pub under new management. The charming bartender/manager kindly tutored me on the fine beverages on the top shelf - a new imbibing experience for me. Along with great food and a warm, friendly atmosphere, a great experience overall.
What a gem! The food is amazing. The people are great and the atmosphere is bang on. They even have music nights. The beer selections are . Oh and did I mention the food is amazing?

I absolutely Whelan's Gate! One of the best Irish bars in Toronto. You can feel Whelan's Gate's rich history and the staff make you feel welcome. Great cocktails and of course... Guiness!

Food seems more than fine to me. In response to some of the recent criticism about the food, I feel as though I should just add my two-cents. I've never been before but was in the area and had about an hour to kill, so I stopped in for a pint and bite. There was a sign outside indicating a new menu or new chef or something to that effect. I'm not sure how long it's been since this has been the case but my meal was quite good. Excellent veggie burger and the fries were very tasty. Attentive service as well.
I'm really not in the area very often and probably won't be anytime soon, but I certainly recommend it as a nice neighborhood pub with good grub.
Great pub, but beware, the hot wings are really hot.
This place is one of my all time fave pubs. So much character and good inexpensive food.

A nice Irish-style pub, with reasonably priced food. Good beer selection, including some local micro brews. Only complaint is the lack of Interac Direct Debit payment. Either cash or Visa/Mastercard are accepted. During the spring through to the fall, it has a very spacious heated backyard patio. Bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible. Overall one of the best places to have a brew on the Bloor strip from Dundas to Keele.
