I love leaving bad reviews because I always hope the person reading is laughing like real belly laughs (of course my bad reviews have merit). Anyways here I am leaving a good review. This place is amazing. It is truly amazing. I go frequently and the quality of food is EPIC! it’s great. Go and enjoy. This place is truly a Japanese marvel. It’s not your you know what, people mascaraing and pretending to be Japanese sushi experts. This place is the real deal, it’s a legitimate Japanese marvel.
Had one of my first sushi Bento box out here and I've returned multiple times after that.
The entire meal was value for money and most of the contents tasted delicious. The tempura and the California roll were my personal favorites.

Best sushi for your money in North York. I've eaten at most other sushi places in the area and they're either great quality but too expensive for your money or poor quality.
We've dined here several times, each of which was satisfying. I think anytime you review a sushi place the vital importance of it should be the quality and freshness of the sushi itself and this place has it. I've read several reviews about people complaining about long waits for their food but if you order sushi and it arrives to your table quickly, I'd be concerned. The sushi here is always fresh and always flavorful. There is plenty of seating and the place is spacious. Service is good, as well.
I visited this restaurant tonight, as it is one of my go to places for consistent, reasonably priced, and fresh sushi and sashimi. This Ichiban is definitely better than the one at Empress Walk in terms of freshness, better cuts of sashimi, and environment.
The restaurant serves a complimentary edamame appetizer dish to all patrons which I find is a nice touch.
I ordered my comfort, super chirashi, which came great as expected. Large portion, good variety of fresh fish, and on a bed of delicious rice. My companion ordered the small boat which came with a good assortment of fish, generous cuts, and was to our liking.
Overall, this place is always a consistent and delicious choice for Japanese food in North York. :)
Return visit. Went with friends and ordered a large sushi sashimi boat. The fish quality was decent and the selection was too bland. Should have been better for the price (it used to be better). Past fondness gives them the benefit this time but I fear things have derailed a bit here. 65%
I'm in Toronto for a month now, so far Ichiban is the best sashimi. Fresh fish, perfectly cut, right $$
Ichiban is my default go-to sushi place near home. The prices are reasonable, the portions are large and they serve good quality sashimi....
It's not spectacular but it's not horrible. Just one of those places my boyfriend likes to go to just cause he's been going there for some time. I'm not sure about the other locations but this location is operated by Korean people.
