3.0 for the food and .5 for the place.
The pick up arrived at 11:30am. We got to Sky Dragon in good time. Of course with a wheel chair, you get tucked away in the path to the kitchen, which is not a bad thing considering that all the options come out in push carts past our table first. We soon had a table full of shrimp rice rolls, congee, chinese donut, and gyoza. The food is not as good as Kirin City Square in Vancouver. But the push cart
ladies were all very kind to mom. One person insisted on using her scissors to cut the food to tiny pieces to make it easier for mom to eat. We also sat close to the lady responsible for frying the taro and turnip cakes. So, we got that hot off the pan. The whole meal came to $16.65 after tax. Good deal I think.

Very solid dim sum place in Chinatown. It's really cheap and they do it the old-fashioned way in a cart. The dim sum itself is surprisingly quite good and is almost on par with the more expensive dim sum places in Toronto.

Chinatown's authentic dim sum. First of all, Sky Dragon is one of the few places left in Chinatown where they have dim sum by the cart. Anything else is less than authentic. And if you're bringing friends who have never tried it, this really adds to the experience.

As for the food, there's great variety and I love that you can order special dishes like congee and fresh Chinese greens like snow pea shoots.

Their rice rolls (cheung fun) are awesome - the rice wrapping is thin and done to perfection. And if you're brave enough for the chicken feet or "phoenix claw" - they're delicious here.

By far the best place in Chinatown for dim sum.

During university, I often ate dim sum at Sky Dragon Chinese Cuisine. The Spadina, Dundas location was prime and they could always accommodate a large group of hungry students. It helped that prices were low. I could eat a full meal for close to $12 after tax and tip. Prices per dish has increased, but our bill on my last visit was still only $14/person on a Saturday.

This is our local go-to spot for Dim Sum. It's available all day. If you go before 11:30 am on the weekend, everything's $2.50. Tons of selection, fresh from the cart, service is good.

It's been a long time coming! I've probably gorged myself with steamers full of Sky Dragon dim sum dozens of times since I started blogging about food. In fact, Sky Dragon is almost undoubtedly my most frequented restaurant of all time! Without exaggeration, I've probably dined at The Sky more times than Tim Hortons, Starbucks and McDonalds combined (not that I ever ate there with any consistence). But I digress.

Sky Dragon is more than just a traditional cart service dim sum spot on the top floor of Dragon City Centre, at the southwest corner of Dundas and Spadina, in the heart of Toronto's lively Chinatown--it's a tradition amongst my friends and my family, a place where I feel comfortable and at home, and a dim sum eating experience that is largely unparalleled in this city. I know this all sounds like a cheesy advertorial, but my feelings are genuine. After so many great memories, and of course great meals, writing this review was the easiest and perhaps most pleasurable of my 'ill-ustrious' career.

I've often joked to my friends that this is the place that I'll hold my wedding some day. And if I can find a wife that will agree to it, then it is REALLY meant to be! Wedding or not, Sky Dragon will always be my first love.

Thanks, Sky, for all the great times!
