Lots of new eateries have popped up on the Lakeshore in the Mimico/New Toronto/Long Branch area of south Etobicoke. Some of have come and gone but a few have truly stood the test of time- like DECADES of time- such as New Toronto Fish & Chips.
A local hit for a reason. Great portions and selection, the F&C here are good. The batter is more "Chinese" style, it is owned by a Chinese couple and I can tell the style of batter. My second in line for the best in the city.

NO Coleslaw. NO homemade tartar sauce?!?! Whats up with that?! Coleslaw is a staple for F&C's and packets of tartar sauce?
A++. SIMPLY THE BEST. Try other fish and chip spots; poor quality fish, too breaded, etc... They cut the massive fish on site into pieces, fresher & less breading=fantastic!
Great old school style fish and Chips. A must try if your in the area.
This would be my death row meal. No fooling.
Great fish, never too greasy. Fries always freshly made. Great cole slaw. In summer my crew loves taking our fish and chips down to the lake at Colonel Sam Smith park for an instant picnic.
So good. Retro good. When looking for tradition delicious fish and chips, head out to Mimico. This place has been around since the 70s and for good reason. It has charming owners/staff and above all great food. We have made this place a regular visit and have never been disappointed.
The batter is excellent, the fried are great. They make an excellent oil and vinegar coleslaw and the gravy for the fries is also very tasty. It's great. I highly recommend it.
