We've eaten three times at "Sushi Rock," and have had exceptionally good meals each time.
Enjoy the very best sushi and sashimi as well as the tempura and teppanyaki.
They correspond to a multiple-course Japanese dinner and are on the lines of western haute cuisine, as they combine the taste, texture, form and colours of the foods at the highest level and in perfect harmony. And a meal would not be the same without a glass of sake to discover all the facets of the culinary world of Japan. Sorry for not having any pictures... too busy eating the food
I tried the dishes yesterday, and it was amazing :)
Not lying at all. If you think sushi rock is not good because of the bad online reviews, I suggest you try it first. You will have a surprise! Just like me!
Sit by the window. I agree that the service can be dreadful. But for some strange reason not if you sit by the window.
The food quality and quantity is however good and inexpensive, especially by Y & E standards.
Food was very good. Service was poor - I had to flag the waitress to get a menu, to order, to get my bill. But in this casual eatery, the food trumps all.
The best sushi joint in yonge and eg, sushi is always fresh
Yonge & Eglinton is a bustling place and with all the construction going on, it's only getting busier. As with any other robust neighbourhoods in the city, there's a lot to do and eat around here. Although it doesn't have as many Japanese or sushi restaurants, there's a few I visit for lunch when I get that craving. Sushi Rock Cafe has been serving satisfying lunch combos of rolls, sushi and udon for years and a great alternative to pre-made sushi at the food court. Now, this restaurant doesn't sell high quality, top notch, melt in your mouth fish but it's much better than other sushi restaurants in this area. The restaurant itself is very roomy as well with a wide range of options to choose from on their lunch specials menu at great prices. On this particular visit, I ordered Sushi Combo A , which includes a salad, miso soup, 5 assorted pieces of nigiri sushi and 6 pieces of California Rolls: For starters, my friend and I shared 2 different appetizers: Mixed Tempura: 2 shrimps, 4 asso
Sushi is not Toronto's forte. That is clear. But this is a good place for sushi at a decent price. The service is fast, efficient, but still friendly. The sushi is delicious, but sometimes it can be a bit messily prepared. I will reiterate though that their sushi is very yummy.
A wonderful affordable spot to grab a Sushi Lunch – Sushi Rock!
If you work or live near Yonge and Eglinton, this is the best place to get your sushi fix. We come here for lunch quite often as the service is great, the fish is good and the prices are decent to boot! They also have a bunch of special rolls on sale for lunch as well. Great place to meet for lunch, business lunch, or a quick sushi snack after work.
