Best Dim Sum inToronto. Tried others but keep going back to Dynasty. We love the quality of ingredients and freshness. Absolute perfection! Love the snow pea greens.

Located in the heart of Yorkville - service was good and the staff are great. It's a fancier dining venue and their dimsum isn't cheap. However, that's not a surprise being where you are in the city. The place was super packed and the food was good. I would come here a gain next time I'm in the neighbourhood.

Fancy neighbourhood... and a nice spot to go if you like car spotting. We had a lot to eat... the sesame chicken the was especially good though. The rude waitress added to the authenticity :P

Excellent dim sum. Unusually clean (for a dim sum place!). Fast courteous service. Nicest dim sum in Toronto. Great location...right on Yorkville.

Chinese food at its finest, but its still just Chinese food. I would return too this place when i want a good Chinese cuisine. I had the dim sum and was pleased, but as usual got the "ITUS" afterwards.

Top notch dim sum is on our top list. Their other place in the north end is excellent as well. You are paying top dollar though for the location which is a drawback especially if you are just getting take out.

If you've ever been to Hong Kong.... Then you'll know that there are no restaurants in Toronto/Markham/Richmond Hill that serve up their food as hot and steamy as they do across the sea.

However after many years of the weekly dim sum ritual with grandparents and extended family in Toronto at many different restaurants (cheap and expensive), Dynasty is the first place I have been to in Ontario that serves up dishes so hot and steamy that even after 15 minutes of "cooling" it's still hot and steamy - by Hong Kong standards, a good sign the food is good.

In general, the food was really good. We found it not oily, not too salty, or over/undercooked.

Some highlights: The steamed meatballs were soft, tender and flavourful. The steamed sweet egg yolk buns (which is one of my fav dim sum dessert items) were hot, gooey and a bit runny - which is the actual way a good egg yolk bun should be. It was delicious.

In short, the price tag is on the expensive side, but it's definitely worth it.

Good Dim Sum. I thought that this place is an excellent place for dim sum I used to go to their location on Bloor but I enjoy their new location on Yorkville Ave. even more just because it offers great people watching in addition to good dim sum.

Their prices are a little higher than what you would see at smaller places in Markham or in Chinatown however this is just what you would expect with the location. I found that all their standard dim sum dishes were well done and they have a good selection. I have no plans on switching my go-to dim sum place from here on weekends unless something new opens up!

My favourite Chinese restaurant in TO. Just had dinner at its new location (two streets north of the old one); the crispy skin chicken is the best I had in a long, long time. Reminds me why this is still my favourite Chinese restaurant in Toronto after all these years.

I have been dining there for over 10 years. Yes, it is expensive; some of my Cantonese friends refuse to pay this much for Chinese food. But a unique combination of factors keeps us going back:

1. Hyper-convenient location.
2. It is always open. It is even open on New Years day.
3. Service. Excellent (there was a horribly rude manager, but he no longer works there).
4. Ambiance. Default choice whenever my family wants to hold a banquet. Or when I need to take someone from out of town for dim sum. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner there.
5. FOOD. Authentic Cantonese (with some westernized dishes thrown in). Always elegant and refined; the kitchen is never heavy-handed, and very consistent. On a bad day it is competent; on a good day it is not quite Lei Wah Heen, but close.

Dishes I would recommend? Seafood of course. Love the magic they do with scallops. Cantonese comfort food like baby bok-choy in chicken stock. I can't think of one bad dish; but then I don't order the lemon chicken or sweet and sour pork. Stick to the authentic stuff :D

Great for the advanced chinese diner. Definitely a destination for up-scale Cantonese offerings, fresh and subtley flavoured while looking out the 2nd floor mezzanine over tony Bloor West. Of course, daily dimsum, wonderful seafood, hot pot stews and fried noodles. Great 12-course banquet dinners for groups with advanced Chinese palates - perfect for birthdays and holidays. High time (lunch) is seated on a first-come first served basis, but window seats might be had if you're lucky or outside of primetime. The tromp l'oeil blue-sky and fluffy cloud ceiling (along with the $1000 shark fin in the display case) has seen better days.

Dynasty is an institution that has been around for as long as I've started eating solid foods. I supported them when they were at the Colanade on Bloor. I still support their sister resto, Paradise, in North York. Both restaurants are considered fine dining.
Since their move to Yorkville Ave, the food and service remained consistent for a long while. They specialize in refined Chinese dishes that are made with the precision only a master chef can achieve.
Unfortunately, the past few times that I have been for dimsum, the food hasn't been quite the same. The service and quality is still there but the taste isn't. Most of the dishes we ordered today were extremely bland and lacked texture.
I hope they sort out what's going on in the kitchen soon. I'll be back and hopefully they will redeem themselves next time.

Located in the heart of Yorkville, this high end Chinese restaurant does not meet the price that they set. I understand the rent would be more expensive for this location, but the portion is way too small for its price. I don't think the food was that great and I prefer Crown Princess's dim sum better.
