The kind of place you'd visit once in a while if it were in your neighbourhood, AKA local.
Solid if unspectacular. Varied selection of items and definitely on trend without being obnoxious. Tried the mozzarella. Enjoyed and thought it could have been softer and/or creamier. Hot peppers actually hot, which is a refreshing change from most restaurants' tame take on spicy. Buttery pasta a little too buttery but otherwise delicate and well-cooked. Braised beef cheeks and polenta (pictured) had great texture though a little fattier than I'd prefer. Friendly service. Decent Manhattan from the bar. Just.... Fine.

Went on a Sunday morning for brunch for the first time! Super cool place! We sat at the upstairs patio and even got to play board games while we waited for our food! Everything was delicious, minus the coffee that was too bitter for me personally! Definitely will be returning!

Limited menu but what there is of it, very good. Friendly, informative table service. Very noisy space. Table and chairs uncomfortable.

The Local. I came here first with a friend and loved the Mitri dish I had. I went again soon after. The atmosphere is very cozy and dim-lit, and the food is surprisingly good. More than good, amazing. The restaurant is very small so be prepared to wait if you don't come early. Next time, I'd love to try to chefs table.

Funky fun fab food. Maybe a little too cool for school but I liked the urban casual atmosphere and the food was super. You're not going cheap here but I felt like they cared about the food. We also snacked at Salumi ( the wine bar next door by same owners) and I loved the sardines.

Patience results in pleasure. This place has amazing food that will tantalize your taste-buds, but only if you can endure the wait to get a seat. I definitely think it's worth it! Just go early and you won't be disappointed.

Good upscale fare in a down to earth setting. This cool hole in the wall has great homemade pastas, a meat and cheese platter to die for, awesome service and a cool wine list in plain speak. For a nice cozy dinner with your partner this is a great place for a bite and drink. The options in Parkdale keep getting better!

Awesome. As a Foodie its hard to impress when I go out to eat. These guys impressed me. Serious like your Noona makes gnocci with ultra hip new age smoked and cured meats as well as the coolest cocktails you've drank to date.
These guys are Foodies - a cliche word for someone who is passionate about food. Go there - ask the Host or the Chef whats hot - "impress me!" and they will. Bravo! Bellissimo! Encore!

Amazing food, very unique charcuterie platter with a home made pasta dish after made for a plesant meal to share. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed with quite a tasteful mixture of the right music and ambient lighting. The service was stellar as well. This was our first visit. We will go back. With friends, even...

The chef stood right beside us working bellow a few hanging Spanish hams while his partner in crime at the bar created cocktails and poured many a glass of wine. The portions are small so expect to purchase several items on this short menu to properly tackle your appetite. The dishes are served in tapas style portions and it is encouraged to share everything at the table with your guests as food is brought out as it is finished in the kitchen so everything arrives fresh on the table. The Local is also famous as it is a member of Toronto’s Slow Food Movement and emphasizes fresh market sourced local and seasonal ingredients. The menu is always changing which excites me as I’ll be eager to re
