The food and service here were what you would expect from an old-time diner. My server was pleasant and attentive. My meal was greasy and delicious. That said, after paying $18 (after tax & tip) for a 3 egg breakfast with coffee added, I feel a bit gouged. While the food and service would have me return, unfortunately, the price will not.
Will visit again. The food was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was very relaxed and retro. Will definitely return
Excellent!!. This place is a real gem. It's an honest-to-goodness traditional Family Restaurant, and it stands head-and-shoulders above any of the many bland chain restaurants that litter the dining landscape in Scarborough. Everything is made fresh on site - no frozen/microwaved entrees here! The baby beef liver & onions is the best I've ever had, and the chicken souvlaki on a pita is outstanding every time. The chopped steak is another big winner, and the mashed potatoes don't come from a box of powder. Service is always fast and friendly, and there's lots of parking right in front. Very highly recommended.
I have been coming to the Wexford restaurant for year. And have been to many other breakfast places as well. By far the Wexford is the best breakfast place in the city. The breakfast is large and the quality of the food is second to none. The restaurant is impeccably clean and the atmosphere is great. I wouldn't miss have a breakfast there anytime.
Great all day breakfast, relaxed diner atmosphere. Quickly became our fav breakfast haunt!
Pretty good breakfast diner and oldtime atmosphere. fresh squeezed oj!
GREAT place!. We love finding places like Wexford that quickly get on our 'fav list' of dining experiences, food quality and service.
This place is tops for great food - they know what a 'basted' egg is! Their food is excellent, the quantity and quality of their food is more than comparable to their prices.
Service has always been great...we really like the little lady server with the attitude! She's great.
Excellent breakfast! Fresh squeezed OJ, egg white omlette, green tea for my girlfriend. Bacon and eggs for me, multigrain bread was great. I will be back again. Friendly, great service, its easy to like this place.
Good food & atmosphere. Best place for breakfast. Be aware though that the food is a bit oily.
I had “Breakfast at the Wexford” recently, drawn by the claim that they had cracked millions of Eggs over the years and had squeezed even more Oranges. Established in 1958, the Wexford Restaurant is somewhat of an institution in this part of Scarborough. I have them crack 3 more eggs for me to see what all the hype is about.wexford ojIs it me or is freshly-squeezed Orange Juice getting harder and harder to find these days? These guys got it by the glass ($3) or by the Litre ($10).
Now, Peameal & Eggs is really the high-water mark for me when it comes to gauging a greasy spoon’s breakfast. My order arrives quickly: 3 Eggs perfectly over-easy, 3 slices of toast, 4 pieces of Peameal, a generous portion of Homefries and a side of HP Sauce. The cost: $10.49. Served with a smile, I eat everything in Sandwich format due to the abundance of dry rye toast. I’m even asked if I want my coffee refill in a to-go cup. I would gladly order this again any time.wexford breakfastThe Kiriakou brothers are second-generation owners.
They happily give me a guided tour of the place, explaining everything from their Dad and the location’s history to the type of bacon they use. We reminisce about potato-peeling techniques and discuss fluctuations in orange pricing. They make me feel right at home… and I’m not the only one (they personally greet each of the regulars as they stream in). Definitely more of a greasy spoon than a trendy brunch spot, I will certainly be back. Next visit, I’m bringing the whole family for “Breakfast at the Wexford.”
