Attended a company function with a friend a few times. The service was always great and the food was excellent. Love the steak. Ambiance was okay. Hopefully I can return on a more casual occasion.
Typical old school steakhouse. All the classics cuts and sides. Onion soup stands out as do the mushrooms. No disappointments on any of the items, but can't really say there is anything different than expected. They definitely know how to make a steak to the right temperature (I've never had to send anything back), but the decor is dated and a bit run down. They have a private dining room for large groups which I would highly recommend if you are a group of 8 or more. It's old school decor but for some reason much better kept up than the rest of the restaurant.
Ho-hum. Good steak, but it's one of those forgettable meals.
I love this place. The service is slightly varied (from awesome to good) but the food and atmosphere is consistently amazing.
Like an Old English Club. The first thing that grabs you when you walk up the stair and into the place is that it kind of reminds you of all of the old English Stereotypes of gentlemen and their afternoons at the club. Heavy oak paneling, heavy carpet, rather dark interior.
That said, it make for a great atmosphere. The steak is one of the best prepared I have ever had. All of the sides and salad were equally well prepared.
Just as the place reminds you of an old English Club, the wait staff was like Jeeves the Butler. Most efficient, always there when you needed him, out of the way but close while you were dining and if you had any questions, always had the correct answer or recommendation.
I wish there were more restaurants like Tom Jones. While I don't get to Toronto very ofter, this is on my list of place to revisit.
You'll love this place. Very quaint romantic awesome bar upstairs. Unbelievable steaks
What's new pussycat?. This is a wonderful old steakhouse, I ordered the rib steak and two lobster tails, worse tails I have ever had they tasted like boston harbour cherry stones, come to think about it the steak was well done also, glad I was not paying, to Tom Jones justice it was a meeting of 20 business guy's and a well frequented open bar, food finally arrived, they tipped the waiter's well.
Like the Menu on their website I did not pay a dime
