Great meal at Hunter's Pizza & Souvlaki House and the food is really reasonably priced. I felt like I found a hidden gem in Scarborough - it's one of the most multicultural plazas I've seen in a while (excluding food courts). There's a Jamaican place, Vietnamese place, Greek place, Taiwanese place, Mexican place and Cantonese restaurant in this tiny strip mall.
Awesome little gem- for a greasy spoon in the city. All the food here is standard but good. The staff are nice and restaurant is clean enough. Their pizza is good, so is the pasta!!

After a day out, we searched the Zomato app for something diner-ish that was open for dinner in Scarborough, and we found Hunter's. Although they feature pizza and souvlaki, they do have enough diner choices. The restaurant was less than half full, and we could choose our table.
This is another one of those restaurants that is a local favourite, that people like just the way it is, but the '80s decor really could use some updating.
We weren't super hungry. SWMBO found Chicken Souvlaki on the "Lighter Fares" section. A skewer of cubed chicken on a pita or over rice (she chose rice) with some Tzatziki and Greek Salad. It was still a pretty substantial meal.
Under the salads section I found Grilled Chicken on top of Greek Salad. Very similar meals. My chicken was seasoned differently, and did not have or need the tzatziki. The chicken was really nice and tender.
One thing that I found a little odd was that even though both of us had Greek salad, SWMBO got only one black olive, and I got none.
Service was very fast. I suspect we were served by the owners.
I've been going here for years. The pizza is tasty. They have great lunch specials which are huge. The lamb souvlaki and salmon are great too.
Pleasantly suprised. Came to hunters pizza last weekend and was not sure about the place but it suprised us. We enjoyed our salads with a huge amount of feta which I love. I ordered the chicken souvlaki Andy friend ordered the home burger. Both where very good my souvlaki was moist and tasty and the portion for what you pay is fantastic. Would definitely return
This place is a local gem. They have amazing pizza and great souvlaki. You get huge portions and the price is much cheaper than the over priced food on the danforth. Have been to this place multiple times and have enjoyed it every time.
Heard about this place from online & family friends and it lives up to its excellent reputation!!

Best Greek salad in town, my hubby is hard to please & he loved the chicken parasean!
In the evening, the dimly lit restaurant gives a romantic feel for a night out with your SO without the steep price tag! Been there 3 times and going tonight :)

Fantastic food for the price and true mom and pop quality. Gus and Tina always provide a welcoming atmosphere. Can't find a more enjoyable and filling meal for those prices anywhere.
NONE Better. This is the only place we go for Souvlaki! The greek salad is the best. Even though we moved out of the neighborhood years ago we still drive across the city to eat there!
Real Greek food by Real Greek People. This place has amazing lunch! I have been many times for the souvlaki and you are getting healthy homestyle meals here. It is a really nice family vibe in there with actual greek cooks unlike many of the greek places on the danforth.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Never been for dinner but will be willing to give it a shot!
Very good proportions and very good price for a meal
My favorite souvlaki. ..comes from this unassuming little place. Huge portions for very reasonable prices, delicious salads and pretty good pizza to boot. I'd also recommend the veal/chicken parm or lasagna - as a previous reviewer said, they are just slightly charred to baked perfection, and the chicken parm is so large it's almost comical. You will definitely have leftovers (which in my opinion is a good thing!)
Excellent "hole in the wall" Greek + Italian. My choices tend to divide between:
a) The deluxe pizza, which has a bounty of good toppings, and the slightly charred crust that is characteristic of the Excellent Pizza, and
b) Veal parmesian, where, again, the cheese is "just a little charred", nicely baked into the meat, and the spaghetti sauce is zesty and exceedingly meaty. Probably a bit of "death by cholesterol," but you'll die happy.
The Greek salad is outstanding, nicely messy, with plenty of fresh feta cheese mixed in in "particulate form" (rather than as cut chunks, which I often see elsewhere).
Throw in friendly service from a friendly set of proprietors and it's all good!
They have desserts; I have infrequently had capacity left to hold the large slices of baklava that they offer. Tasty, but frequently beyond capacity!
I don't think the pizza here is anything amazing because there isn't much choice of toppings anyway, but if you like souvlaki (especially lamb) give it a try when you're in the area!
