Very good sushi and excellent value and service. Very pleasant experience. If looking for a good sushi lunch certainly worth a visit! The staff were very friendly and provide quick and efficient service.
dre: I went out with some coworkers to Gallery Sushi, at University and Dundas. I got another chicken teriyaki bento box ($9), and this one came with white meat! I enjoyed the chapchae noodles that it came with as well. I like how different Japanese restaurants serve different items with their bento boxes and I always enjoy the surprise.
I came here with a friend before the TIFF screening of Black Mass at the Princess of Wales. It's not the most glamorous place to have AYCE sushi ($20.99). It was fairly warm when we entered the restaurant. We were seated next to the AC so it got pretty comfortable very quickly. Their AYCE menu are divided in to appetizers, rolls, sashimi, hot dishes, and dessert. Since this was our first time we ordered a variety of items including deep fried tofu, fried calamari, shrimp tempura, dragon roll, black dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, crispy salmon roll, white tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, bbq eel, tako (octopus) sushi, takoyaki (octopus balls), alaska roll, rainbow roll, and spider roll. All their rolls were done really well with lots of quality ingredients. The rolls and sushi did not fall apart as soon as you try to pick it up with your chopsticks. I really liked their takoyaki (small chewy goodness of squid inside) as well as their spicy tuna roll. Even though they did not have a lot of staff, they made sure that the overall dining experience was a pleasant one. Besides AYCE, they also have a la carte items on their menu.
Easily the best sushi in the neighbourhood. Chicken katsu is good too! And if Japanese beer is your thing, they've got you covered with Asahi Black.
Good sushi. Service was great during a 'lunch rush.'
Not fancy but it hit the spot!
I really loved the sushi and sashimi bento box that I ordered. Along with tea, the bento came to just over $15.00, and included a salad, miso soup, fantastic noodles, rice, a california roll, four pieces of nigiri sushi and eight pieces of sashimi. I didn’t like the white tuna much, but the rest was quite good, and the noodles were excellent – I’d really like to try them again! (A glassy kind of noodle with slivers of green and red pepper.)
Small family place run by Koreans (so don't say arigato when you leave). Good selection and fresh! They have an all you can eat option too - it's great if you really need a lot of sushi/rolls/sashimi but there's very little variety in the hot foods part of the tick list. Great bentos too. They let you order from the lunch menu at dinner.
