This place was good. My husband and I both got pho. I ordered a large so I could share with my 3 yr old and the portion was very generous. I liked the beef balls, they were soft with no tendons. The flavour of the soup was good but we found it a bit too salty. That's why I didn't give 4 stars.
We also ordered pork spring rolls and veggie spring rolls and we all enjoyed them.
The meal was cheap and why we would probably go back if we were in the neighbourhood. For 2 bowls of pho, 2 orders of springrolls and drinks ..it was about ~$25.
Best Pho on Gerrard. Been eating at various pho places on Gerrard for about 7/8 years due to it's close proximity. Haven't bothered much in the last couple of years as my mainstay there has in my view gone downhill (I like the owner so I won't mention the restaurant) and the others have been hit and miss (more miss than hit). Bach Yen is clean, very reasonably priced and the service is excellent. We tried and shared a variety of dishes and all were more than satisfactory. Definitely better Pho places in Toronto but for this quarter of the city it stands out above the rest.
Courteous Owners and delicious food for great prices! Fresh, fast & friendly. I've gone 5 times in the past 2 months and it doesn't disappoint!
Im a visitor to the city and found this place via urban spoon. The food and service were both excellent. Fantastic tea! Prices can't be beat. Small but very clean restaurant. I'd come back.
Great food ...nice friendly owner
Excellent Food. Excellent Service. Excellent Prices.. My wife and I have been going to Bach Yen once every couple weeks for the past 6 months. The food is fantastic and the restaurant owner provides superb service.
I've tried quite a bit of the menu and have enjoyed it all. My wife gets the rare beef pho every single time, which I have to admit is also my favorite dish. I've eaten pho at dozens of places and can confidently say that Bach Yen's pho stands out as superb.
The restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. Give it a try!
Best Pho in Toronto!. I realize this is a bold statement; however, my wife and I have eaten at a minimum of 10 Vietnamese/Pho restaurants in Toronto and like Bach Yen best.
The flavour of the broth is exceptional and texture of the noodles always perfect. The staff is also super friendly.
Very, very reasonably priced.
Fresh. Great food, always fresh, owner has great CSR skills. Usually go there during the week for lunch.
This is the best Vietnamese food I've had in Toronto so far! The pancake was amazing and I did like it for not being greasy at all. Then I got the fried noodle dish with tumeric and seafood which was absolutely tasty and full of shrimp, scallops and vegetables.
