Basic but tasty Thai food at a good price. Service is just adequate. Very convenient location. For a delicious warm dessert, I recommend the mango sticky rice.
ordered shrimp spring roll, galarami and street padthai there. very delicious food and the price is also fair enough. The only thing I feel uncomfortable is the restaurant is in a bad condition and feel a little bit greasy
Very good. Had the mango salad which was better than I expected. Followed that with the chicken red curry with rice; that was excellent! The place looks a bit run down, but the staff was nice and service was quick. Will return
Definitely a hidden gem in the area. Came here on two separate occasions and tried the following items: Beef curry, chicken curry, satay skewers, thai iced tea (was too sweet for me the first time, asked for more ice/tea the second time and it was perfect), street pad thai. The food was delicious and authentic, you can really tell whoever is cooking really gives a sht about their job. The waiter was also super nice and friendly.
Of course this place does not compare to Pai or Khao San Road but I'm sad that salad king is so much more popular than this place. The food, service and price here are wayyyyyy better than salad king. Also dat perfect window view to Remington's doe loooool ;)
TLDR: Next time you're craving thai food in the yonge/dundas area, don't be basic and go to Salad King, go try Thai on Yonge :)
Visited today for lunch with co-workers. We all love thai food and not only greatly enjoyed the food here but the price cannot be beat!
Food: For once, I did not get pad thai. Instead I had the pad woon sen (sp?) and it was fantastic! The meal came with a spring roll and this great soup that has a slight kick to it, and the main dish was flavourful with plenty served.
Price: The lunch special is $7.95, and considering you get a spring roll and soup with your main dish, it's a fantastic price! Def one of the cheaper places I've been to downtown Toronto for lunch, and the food was actually great to boot!
Service: Not much to say here. Our server was prompt and friendly enough, but nothing stands out.
Summary: A great choice! I'd go back just for the soup, and I'll admit I'm curious how the pad thai holds up here, but all-in-all we enjoyed our meal and would not hesitate to return :) Definitely recommended!
Go a lot with my best friend. So many choices, pretty cheap for a restaurant downtown. service is ok, I guess because it's a busy atmosphere, so I don't mind. Go a lot with my best friend. Service is ok, I guess because it's a busy atmosphere, so I don't mind. but the food its spectacular.
I came here for a quick Thai meal, which is what I got. We had the pad Thai and grilled beef with rice. The food tasted fine, nothing special. The portion sizes seemed a bit small. It seemed a bit empty for a weekday evening, and service was fine.
Last night I ordered Khao Soi ($10), Pad See Ew ($10), and Tom Yum soup ($6). The food was delivered promptly and without a delivery charge. The Khao Soi was good - not the best I have had but still good. The Pad See Ew and Tom Yum soup were also enjoyed. A tasty meal at a reasonable price! I will definitely order from here again.
I happened to walk into the restaurant on a rainy day and ordered papaya salad and Lemmon grass soup. Both were nice and very authentic compared to the other ones that put too much sugar. So I ordered another satay chicken which was also tasty! Price was reasonable too. Loved it! Wish they could have morning glory which is pretty common Thai vegetable.
