Such a cute little patisserie located in a busy lively neighborhood. I immediately loved the interior decor and the vibe emanating from this place. 'old is gold' couldn't have been more appropriate to describe the overall setting. La Cigogne offers a wide variety of pastries and cold sandwiches as well as quiches, along coffee/tea and cold beverages. I ordered the baguette with brie, apple and cucumber which was perfect and drank some coffee while gazing at the passerby. The terrace reminded me of the cafe trottoire concept in Paris. Shame that it was too hot to sit outside. I would recommend to anyone to try this place for lunch or for some cake and tea/coffee. You will not regret it. Trust me.
Very much recommended
Very impressed with this place. Came in with a major sweet tooth and decided on a little Tiramisu cake and a little Africa cake. Africa has hazelnut mouse and a wafer and is dusted with chocolate. Presentation is lovely and the price seemed comparable to other patisseries I've seen. The tiramisu was DIVINE!! Just excellent and a symphony of flavour ... Subtle and classy not overly sweet or coffee tasting. Hope my husband likes the Africa as much as I loved mine. This place also sells Madeline cookies which can be hard to find.
Cute spot for sandwich, crepes & dessert. This is a cute spot to stop if you're shopping/strolling on Bayview. The crepes are yummy (savory chicken and plain with homemade jam). Kid friendly place. The staff are all young and French, and service is relaxed but good. The desserts in the display cases are yummy too, but not the best croissant I've ever had -mediocre croissant and almond croissant had too much filling.
Great Pastries & Tarte Flambe. Having been in Strasbourg/Alsace recently, We were drawn here mainly to try their rendition of the Alsatian classic: Tarte Flambe.
It is an almost authentic version, but seemed to lack the homegrown flavor (probably not enough creme)
The in house made desserts are great, the lemon tart & raspberry cheesecake were top notch!
By far, best croissants around! Sampled also the quiche and the petit fours for afternoon tea. Wonderful...
AmaZing place for a cold winters day!! Coffee and pastries!!!
One of my favourite cake places in Toronto! The service might be a little slow sometimes, but they consistently put out great desserts (especially pistachio ones) and food. On a weekend, the tables fill up with customers enjoying their coffee and patisseries similar to a cafe in France.
One of my very good friends (with very dependable tastebuds) took us to this charming cafe over the weekend. It's called Patisserie La Cigogne and
If you are looking for lovely French pastries then this is a good destination in the trendy neighborhood.
This is where I go during Christmas time to pick up our pre-ordered "Buche de Noel" or classic Christmas log. Don't forget the butter made croissants.
Parking in the area is awful so be patient and plan ahead.
Good place for coffee and classic French pastries.
