A little basement restaurant serving authentic Korean food with a very authentic atmosphere (Cute Korean chopstick boxes and K-pop plays in the background here. They even have cute stickers on the washroom stalls and little cartoons). Service is excellent - I came with my family, ordered bibimbap which was delicious. Tried the broth of the Kam Ja Tang and it was excellent - option here to make it extra spicy if you can handle it. We received a vegetable pancake on the house, it was nice and crispy. Seems like a family run business, the staff are very friendly.

When my friends want to eat Korean food, we usually go to Buk Chong Dong. But since I was in Chinatown the zomato app directed me here. Hidden in a basement, it's very hard to find. The orange sign will help. Spicy tofu soup is just as good here than the others. The beef short ribs were so tender and juicy I'm drooling just thinking about it. Next time your craving spicy soup, this is the hot spot that you should check out. They have now gained a new loyal customer.

Came here through the recommendation of @ friend. I ordered the black bean noodle and my friend ordered the same thing, but hot pot version.

It was super flavorful and tasty! Loved every bite of it. The only downfall is when there is no more food left.

Definitely a place to check out! It's a bit hidden, but for sure worth it.

Have a variety of tastes, from savory to sweet to spicy. Good portion sizes, especially with the pork bone soup. Some beers in stock as well. Atmosphere best suited for casual dinner with friends, probably not a date place (there were like 45 spots)

Spent two years in Korea and was missing the food. Came here and was a very happy girl when I left! Delicious meal, friendly service, and good side dishes. Almost as good as being in Korea!

A very pleasant surprise. Food is good, large portions, and 7 side dishes for me! Great variety in one meal and they are all well done! It's a new staple place of mine. Never busy either, unlike the chaos of other Chinatown restaurants during a lunch time.

Large portions, small price. I've been there twice and each time the service and the quality was consistent and amazing. Their servings are incredibly large, and I came out the store having eaten too much, paying only 6$ for dinner as I shared with a 4 other people. The side dishes were plentiful (more than 6), and are also seasonal.
As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is never full and there was no line-up (I went on weeknights friday and saturday). The latest korean songs are always playing in the background, filling up the silence that occurs when you're too busy eating.

I'll be there again this week!

Good Korean food. I go here on a regular basis. What I like:

- Tasty food
- Large selection of side dishes (usually 6-8 given)
- Wide variety on the menu

It's a great place to jump in and grab a quick meal. For the price range, among the better places to get Korean food.

One quick note, CLEARLY the other reviewer below works for Ka Chi or has some stake in their business. Looking at their review history, they seem to have only joined Urbanspoon just to badmouth Seor Ak San. That's pretty sad.

In the heart of China Town lays a small Korean joint that is home to one of the best Bibimbap, at a very affordable price.

A hidden sub-level family restaurant, Seor Ak San is one of my favourite Korean restaurants to go in Chinatown. They have sizeable portions for a good price. Hands down the best kalbi beef and bibimbap, which are served sizzling and pipping hot from the kitchen. Most importantly, their side dishes are quite good and they taste homemade, and it is always refillable.

In the heart of China Town lays a small Korean joint that is home to one of the best Bibimbap, at a very affordable price.

So what exactly is a Bibimbap?A Bibimbap is a signature Korean dish. The word literally means “mixed meal” or “mixed rice”. To me, is a bowl of goodness with a ton of flavour, a “yolky” attitude and a price that makes it taste even better.

From what I noticed, the rice starts sticking and toasting in the bottom of the bowl as it is being brought to your table. The julienne vegetables are perfectly seasoned and cooked and start warming up as you mix them with the rice. The dish, if you wish, can be topped off with an egg. Once your knife breaks into the yolk and your veggies and rice get coated with all that buttery goodness, you realize you can’t wait to get to the bottom of the bowl. That rice crust that forms at the bottom is exactly what I look for as I take a last bite at my Bibimbap.

Seor Ak San, which is the name given to the restaurant as a tribute to one of the highest mountains in South Korea, welcomes all guests with a complimentary set of appetizers that are, well, appetite-opening.

Seor Ak San Toronto Complimentary appetizers. When I got all these little tapas-style appies on the table, I did not know which one to try first! These all looked really yummy and being complimentary (on the house), tasted even better. From taste and with a bit of explanation from the waiter what we got consisted of a spinach pan-fried rice cake (my favourite of them all), seaweed, chapchae (a popular Korean noodle dish), sweet potato and kimchee (a Korean fermented cabbage dish). There were two more that I was not a fan of and I guess as a result I cannot recall their names.

All in all, I would highly recommend Seor Ak San if you are in the mood for good, tasty and affordable Korean dishes. The staff is very friendly, the place is clean and the dishes are really well put together. I would almost say this is a rather healthy place to eat at given all the veggie intake you get in one seating.

Buen Provecho,

Seor Ak San is a Korean restaurant located on the east side of Spadina Avenue, a bit north of Dundas. I went there for lunch on Sunday with some friends after church.

I don't often eat Korean food because I'm not much into anything spicy. But, I believe this place must be good because 1/3 of our group was Korean and the rest of them like Korean fare and they all like this place.

Normally when I eat Korean I have Bibimbap because I like rice. This time I decided to change things up and ordered a cold, noodle soup since it was summertime. I thought it would come room temperature, but they actually put cubes of ice in it. The dish was good. I enjoyed it.

The restaurant is sparsely decorated. There isn't much more than just tables and chairs. If you're looking for ambiance, there isn't any. It's functional which is fine. It's a relatively inexpensive place to eat with good food.

Every dish was delicious. We had spicy Kalbi, fried rice with vegetables, dolsot tofu bibimbap, dok bok ki, and I really liked their Spicy Chicken Stew. Service was very quick and friendly. My friend loved their Pork Bone soup as well. The place is by no means gorgeously decorated, but their strength is their food and they score very high on that.
