One of my favourite discoveries on my trip to Toronto last month was Himalayan Java House.  While I was in Toronto, my friend suggested that I visit Himalayan Java House for their expert latte art.  Taking a look at their Instagram, I was impressed by the creative and cute latte art that customers received.  What stood out to me was that they weren’t making perfectly executed rosettas or hearts, but rather super cute coloured designs like bears, cats, pandas, squirrels and more.  So, one morning my friend and I decided to visit Himalayan Java House to see what fun art they could create for us.

Really homey type of feel. Ordered a chai latte with a grilled cheese (just under $10). It was the best!! My friend and I really enjoyed it. Baristas were kind and polite as well. Will definitely be going back!

Everyone comes here for the latte art and I can see why. The baristas can essentially draw anything on the latte! Coffee was quite good, really smooth.

In terms of ambiance, I wouldn't come here to work or chill as it feels a bit stuffy for me. I prefer the more open space and brightly lit cafe. The back of the store is really cramped as well. Also, the sign is a bit hard to see, you can't even tell it's the cafe from the outside.

I ventured out of my neighbourhood today and went mid-town to check out Himalayan Java, a cafe whose cute latte art has been popping up on my Instagram feed.
The cafe is located on Yonge Street in between Eglinton and St. Lawrence stations. Following the instructions of trusty Google Maps, my friends and I met up at Yonge/Eglinton and walked over together, which took around 5-10 minutes. From the outside, it’s not that noticable. We actually walked past it and had to backtrack, but if you see this sign, you’re at the right place! It is also located next to Sorn Thai for extra reference.

Best coffee in this part of town. Go give it a try and you'll keep going back for more
