Stonemill Bakery on the lower south side of the Market is one of my favourite bakeries with a great and wide selection of breads, muffins, croissants, of which the multigrain fruit muffin (pictured) is super delicious (and cheap). Again note that Saturday mornings are a bit of a crush
Bread and other bakery items never looked so good when viewed in all it's splendour at the St Lawrence Market.
Stonemill bakery gets the crowd daily and Saturdays especially see twice as much so people wait anxiously in line hoping their favourite items don't get sold out too quickly.
My personal favourite is the spinach and feta cheese pastry as well as the Parmesan leek pastry. Both taste brilliant and when it's straight out of the oven there's nothing better than the warm, crisp and light taste of these pastries.
Must have and if you have to wait in line then you won't regret it.
I've enjoyed most of their baked goods most of the time. Some food items just wasn't my cup of tea. . I love their Harvest Corn Muffins! I do love corn bread once in a while. . This is my favourite! It's the savory pastry feta spinach bistro sandwich. I just wish there was another layer of the feta spinach filling. There is never enough!
Prepare for some damn eye-candy with their pastries! After 4PM we swiped up two delicious pastries for $3. The spinach and cheese was spot bloody on, highly reminiscent of my highschool days (but half the size). A great array of snacks, sweets and loaves of bread here, the ladies at the cash are also always such a delight!
Artisan bakery. Savory breads, pitas and muffins made with whole grains.
