Hi everyone,Just ate here last night with my wife. The beer selection was unique, many different styles of craft beer. First time trying craft beer, i usually drink bud. I cant remember the name of the beers I had but they were tasty. My wife ordered the schnitzel with the mushroom sauce she loved it, so did I, that is what I am getting next time. Last night i tried their divine burger, it was lamb, best burger ever you got to try it. But the sever told me the divine burger meat changes often sometimes game meat like boar. This bar is great I wish they had one is sauaga where i live, but its worth the drive. We are definitely going back for fathers day and I am not driving that day. LOL.
Good local upscale pub. A bit on the pricey side but not unreasonable. Limited beer menu but with well-chosen rotating craft options. Food is fresh pub fare, never impressive but reliably good.
Beer selection is excellent, a lot of options of hard to find beers. Very knowledgeable server. I had the burger and it was ok, not the best I've had, just ok. The people I was with did rave about the food so maybe it's just preference. Nice atmosphere, dark and cozy. Will go back for sure to sample more of the beers.
Really well chosen beer menu earning its moniker as a "craft beer emporium". The food was also very good. I am a fussy about my fish and chips, and they passed easily, my daughter had the ribs and they were great too. Thoroughly recommend!
I love this pub! The food is amazing, the staff are friendly, and knowledgable about their beers. Great selection of beers for the beer lover, and for anyone who hasn't had a flight- this is the place! I wish they had a few more gluten free offerings, since I'm celiac but I can manage with their current menu.
Although, I do miss their duck burger!
Great selection of craft beers, delicious food made in house, excellent service= great night out. Would come back anyday!
Our go to pub. Incredible beer selection that changes frequently... go early for a pint from the cask! We have tried most things on the menu and it has all been fantastic. The fresh cut fries with truffle aioli are a must! Definitely make a reservation on the wknd, it's always packed. A little pricey but consistently delicious.
Great Pub. The beer is good and the list is always changing. Food is well prepared and fresh. Friendly and helpful staff. Always worth a visit and a gem in the neighbourhood.
I was told by a friend to visit this Beer Emporium because of its dedication to quality and service. Yep it is true. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing atmosphere
Best pub in the West End by far.. I have visited many times and the food, service, and beer selection never disappoint. You are pretty much guaranteed a great time here. I recommend the charcuterie and a beer flight!
Real beer, real food, in a Real pub. They provide real sustenance for the body and the soul :)
Stumbled on this gem quite by accident (we were heading across the street to Henry VIII). We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the great beer selection. We were attracted to the Steak Frites with Truffle Aioli Fries but were too late to order from the lunch menu - they were kind enough to oblige anyway and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The atmosphere was a bit lack-luster but that could have been due to the time of day (6:00 pm-ish). A little pricey but probably worth it.
Good food, great beer selection, friendly staff. We stopped here for a very early Easter Monday dinner. Michael was very knowledgeable about the origin of the beers on tap and on the menu and was great at suggesting each of our new beer courses. We had the flatbread and burgers and the food was delicious. We will definitely go back!
A hidden Gem. Went with my wife last Friday night. We started with the special, 1/2 dozen oysters, which were super fresh and came with traditional sauces. For mains, I had the Dry aged steak which was super tender and great flavour, my wife had the Lake Trout. Food was amazing! Regarding the beer selection, I have seen nothing like it before, these guys have a serious selection including beer made by monks. Service was outstanding, attentive and friendly. His beer knowledge was impressive. We will be back
Amazing food & service!. Of all the restaurants in the Kingsway, this one is outstanding. We had fabulous service on a snowy evening and a delicious charcuterie platter for 2. Great options on the menu - we can't wait to go back and try them all!
A Perfect Evening. I wanted to take my special date to a lovely place where we could re-acquaint ourselves with eachother after such a long time. He picked out The Monk's Kettle from the small list I chose from Urbanspoon.
We sat at the window, and watched the passers-by while we talked, ate and drank. The chicken was devine. He was impressed with the craft beer and his eyes told me he really liked this Belgian beer that even had its own coaster, that I think had a pink cow on it?
Oh my goodness....the red wine I had was called - Fontamara "Quattro" that our wonderful waiter chose for me was, OUT OF THIS WORLD and said you can pick it up at the LCBO.....Does it come in a keg...? LOL. The atmosphere and music, with a decorated Christmas tree to boot was SO lovely and inviting along with the aromas coming from the kitchen area......I am sorry they had to close at 1am. Thank you - 10/10 ! Nov. 28th, 2011.
Gin xo
Great Craft Beer. A group of friends and I were suggested by a friend to visit this spot. We had been told that the extensive beer list matched the great food and environment of this bar. When I arrived I was blown away at the level of service, and the friendliness of the staff.
I ordered the Risotto, brushetta and a cheery flavored beer, the food was delicious and the beer was very well paired.
I would like to make a note that we have sampled many restaurants in the area including King Henry the 8th, just Greek, yummi, and more.....The monks kettle stood out in a league of its own!
A pleasant surprise. We had recently been discussing the shortage of Craft Brew Pubs in Etobicoke, so imagine our surprise when a few weeks later we came across this little gem. The pub has only been open for about a month, and we decided it was a must-try. We visited on a Saturday at 4pm before the dinner rush
The list of beers on tap wasn't extensive, but was definitely varied and canadian Craft Breweries well represented. Among Familiar names were Unibrou,Okanagan, Sleeman's, Moosehead, Wellington, Flying Monkey and more. (For those of you who have a hard time finding Delirium Tremens this is a welcome addition to the list!)
The food menu, while again not extensive, was definitely tailored to cater to a broad variety of tastes while accompanying the main course - The Beers!
We sampled the Caesar Salad ($8), the Charcuterie & Plate for two ($16) and the Fried Calamari ($10) along with a flight of 4 beers (1/4 pint each). The flight is $6.95 and is not offered on the menu, so ask for it if you are looking to expand your palate.
All of the food was excellent, as was the service. The Charcuterie Plate offerings do change often as do the beers on tap, so look forward to a different but familiar experience every time you visit! We will definitely be back!
We stopped at Monk's Kettle for an early supper. It bills itself as a "craft beer emporium". In addition to having a menu of beer, they also have some posted on a board. The food was good but the service could have been better.
I had a great night with my friends here, it's little pricey but it's worth and I'd like to pay extreme compliments to your chef! The food was not only fab, but the way he cook is was awesome, he was efficient and organised and considering how busy he would be the wait was minimum! well done. I would like to visit again!
