We had Thai Country Kitchen cater an event for around 100 people. They were so easy to get a hold of, communicated well, and treated us like absolute gold. The food was delicious and their green curry was easily one of the best I've ever had! Unfortunately we live out of town, or else we would 100% be returning regularly. If you have the chance, please order from here and enjoy it for us!
I was hesitant to come here at first because it gave off a 'greasy spoon' vibe but I was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the Pad Thai, Massaman curry (which had thinly-sliced lamb slices, potato, and peanuts), BBQ Grilled chicken, Tamarind Beef stir fry, and Eggplant with fish stir-fry with several bowls of coconut rice. Of these, my favourites would be the Pad Thai, which was quite flavourful and not drenched in sauce and the Massaman curry.
Unlike the more popular Thai places, the flavour of the food here had a home-cooked taste to it, where all the ingredients were not measured but rather thrown in by a mother's experienced hands. Not surprisingly, I found out from the waitress, who was the daughter that it was in fact, her mother as the one chef working that night.
Cheap, tasty, and unpretentious. Nice staff, and you get your food usually within 10 minutes. Good portion sizes and very good for the price. The Pad Thai is great.
Overall: Relatively cheap (compared to other places in town), but authentic Thai restaurant, Great lunch specials
My Thai friend recommended this place; I really like it! I feel like in Toronto, there are quite a few upscale Thai restaurants, as well as more Westernized ones. This is different from those because it's not extremely fancy or expensive, but it's definitely one of the most Authentic Thai restaurants in downtown Toronto. I had their Pad Thai Shrimp from their Lunch Express menu, which was very tasty and flavourful (plus they don't add ketchup for the flavour, which adds to the authenticity). The Pad Thai came with one deep fried spring roll (it was good, but not much wow-factor), as well as complementary dessert (which is always a plus!). The service was great; the staffs were so friendly and kind. I am definitely coming back here again- maybe a Pad See Eiw next time!
Authentic, clean, tasty, friendly.
Totally recommended.
Was very nice! Great service! Wasn't spectacular but it was not bad at all..would I go back? I might try different places but I am happy I tried it!
Good Food, Small Portion. Ordered a Pineapple Red Curry for takeout. Flavour was excellent but the portion size was slightly on the small side.
A very down to earth Thai restaurant in Chinatown, authentic yet not pricey. It is a family owned restaurant and that brings back memories of my time in Thailand. The Thai owner is super friendly. Rarely any Thai restaurants offer Pad See Eiw Noodles in Toronto and I was thrilled to order it. It is rice noodles glazed with egg, topped with veggies flavoured with Thai sweet soy sauce Also, the complimentary treats you get as dessert are truly tasty.
