Reviews Leslieville Pumps General Store & Kitchen

Leslie Pumps is an independent gas station, general store and barbecue sandwich shop as if plucked from rural Ontario and transplanted onto Queen and Carlaw, with a retro woodsie decor, bright and spacious diner seating,  ... and ... terrific sandwiches, great staff, super sweets of which  the not-sweet corn muffin with black coffee is my favourite walk-by energy snack.  One keeps dropping by time after time after time...

I didn’t even realize this place serves food. They have all day breakfast and sandwiches. I enjoyed the veggie sandwich that I ordered. A little bit pricey for a sandwich but still pretty good.

This place so chilled out. It’s not some fancy high end restaurant but I’d chose this place over anything else anytime.
Staff is polite and helpful.
Only 1 con though, they need to change their chairs(some are so bouncy)
But considering how delicious their triple decker cheese sandwich was I can overlook any con with this place. We ordered triple decker cheese sandwich and a pork pulled pump sandwich (or something like that) and some pop.
Oh and FYI nobody asked me(not even the card machine) for tip money😄

Much much recommend place to go to if you’re in Downtown Toronto.

I have been want to come here for the longest time. Finally went and got a brisket sandwich with fries. The sandwich wasn't bad. It wasn't fatty so that was a plus. It could of used some more BBQ sauce though. The fries were basically Swiss Chalet fries so they were good!

Get take out from here often. Place is either very good or very disappointing I guess it depends who's in the kitchen. I received a lopsided sandwich (had half of the sandwich with something inside the other half was just plain bread) complained to the owner and he gave me 10cents worth of bbq sauce for my almost $10 sandwich that's just one example in which situation could of been handled nicely. Still must say place is good when they make an effort. Just check before you take your meal!

This is a hidden gem. Driving bye you would never guess this place is here. Really good smoked meat sandwiches. Have tried them all but the turkey has been my go to lately

Really unique in that it's a diner inside of a gas station. Tiny place but really great comfort food. Pretty decent prices too. I recently had the triple decker grilled cheese (added bacon), and it was delicious. I would suggest adding more filling or evenly spreading the cheese on the bread as there was a large crust to filling ratio. But overall it was nice. The brisket is good too. Friendly staff.

Cool Concept.

BBQ in a gas station!!

I have been there a few times now.

The pulled pork sandwich is my favorite- The BBQ sauce is slightly sweet, the coleslaw has nice crunch and the pork is generally pretty tender.  (Make sure you grab a bunch of napkins because it is a gusher!! )

We found the brisket sandwich to be rather dry (perhaps it was a bad night) and the deep fried pickles were delicious (nice crunchy coating served with a dipping sauce).

About 25$ for two sandwiches, pickles and a pop served up pretty quick....worth a try.

Honestly, the least boring sandwiches you will find. The turkey club is my favorite sandwich in the city, possible in the world. The butter chicken sandwich is a close second fav. The food is consistently delicious. Happy to have this place in the neighborhood!

This place is great! Sandwiches are straight up fantastic. And the Corn fritters with the spinach dip (I think?) was awesome!

Surprisingly good meal. Brisket sandwich was good, not great. Bun was a bit burnt. Fried pickles were excellent. Parking for free in front was great. Ed's Scoop is a short distance away. Friendly staff. Enjoyable Saturday lunch experience. Would recommend and try again.

Authentic Southern BBQ in Leslieville!?!?. I stopped off here for Gas as it was cheaper than any other big box pump in the area and stumbled across an interesting little BBQ spot. I checked out the menu thinking the cheap pricing would probably indicate quality, however I was certainly surprised!! I had the beef brisket sandwich, corn fritters, and deep fried pickles and it rivaled the best BBQ joints I have tried all over the southern US. Everything was made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients. Hands down the best BBQ spot in Toronto- maybe even Ontario or Canada. A must try!!!!!

I had an amazing BLT for breakfast this morning. I ignored this place for the longest time thinking it was just a gas station, but took notice that it's getting a lot of buzz among foodies...

It's a very interesting concept...gas station, general store and awesome bbq kitchen. Similar to an country truck stop! Very cool! This is the brainchild of Judson and Greg Flom.

My sandwich came warm and toasty and the corn fritters were hot to touch. I tentatively poked one corn fritter to place it for a quick picture before I taste it and after I did, I gave it a dunk into the Creole dip that came together with it. It was good to have it fresh and hot with burst of sweetness coming from the corn nibs that was deep in the dough.

This isn’t your average gas station. Leslieville Pumps (@LPumps) is a gas station, convenience store and a BBQ joint all rolled into one.

Amazing sandwiches given this is a gas station...Who would have thought, country style gas station and restaurant in the middle of downtown Toronto? For nothing else, this place is worth the novelty of getting a tasty sandwich while you're in the area.
