This place is the pizza restaurant I've been looking for since arriving in the east end of Toronto ten years ago . The appies are delicious and the Pizza is indescribable . How they don't have a line up round the block is beyond me . Do yourself a big favour and get your buns down there !

Outstanding. We have eaten here many times before, but they have really amped up the menu. The Calabrese pizza was great. The calamari was fresh and perfectly prepared. Great service.

I was here around Christmas with the family for dinner. It's an interesting little place - looks really small on the outside (and it is small but bigger than you think due to the second floor that you don't see from the frontage). Fixtures inside have an older feel without being rickety.
The staff was nice but overall service was a little spotty- it may have been because it was the holidays but they were stretched a little thin and so slower than you might like.
The pizza is artisanal- it's very good but if you have smaller kids who are used to the standard 'box store' fare it is a bit of a reach. Bottom line for our group was the adults generally liked it and for the kids it was hit and miss. Complemented by a decent wine and beer selection, I enjoyed it.
Cost wise it's not cheap - $35-40 per person plus tax and tip (and a smaller bar tab); it's good quality but I'd be inclined to recommend leaving the kids home for this one.

Queen Margherita Pizza (QMP) is the East End’s answer to Pizzeria Libretto. Both of these places do a mean neapolitan style pizza. However, one of them isn’t as good as the other…. You’ll find this little pizzeria in the heart of Leslieville. The place has a modern rustic look that fits right into the neighborhood. The bar is the first thing you see as you walk in with a small dining room set off to the side. However, up the small set of stairs to your right is the main dining hall (surprisingly bright too) that showcases the giant oven where they are firing up their pizzas.

The $30 three course meal is quite nice. We shared the small salami board and the three course meal between two people.

The salami board came with a nice variety of meats and cheeses. It is a good portion for 2-3 people.

For the appetizer, we had the beef carpaccio which was good.

We shared the dominator pizza but gad to pack half of it to go.

For dessert, we had the pistachio cheesecake which was delicious.

Overall, i think the prix fixe is a good value here!

Growing up in an Italian household with a mother that makes killer homemade pizza and other Italian dishes means that I have high expectations...and Queen Margarita deserves the royal title! We took advantage of the prix fixe option ($29 for 1 app, 1 pizza, 1 dessert - worth every penny) and we got to select from some other apps not on that menu, so lots of options to choose from. We had the Italian style wings and arancini to start (sooo good). The wings had just the right amount of spice, and the mushroom arancini was well seasoned and yummy-cheesy-good (other places I've had it were dry inside.) The big test was the pizza...and wow!! The Diavola was great and The Dominator was even better! A lot of other pizza places have pizza that is kinda soggy, but here, the pizza was cooked to perfection. Good service as well!

Came early Sunday evening. Mostly families some with kids. Ordered the Prix Fixe, appetizer, pizza and dessert. Upstairs the room is large, open and has large wall size windows. The pizza was one of the best ever! Really!! It's not to noisy so I could carry on a conversation.

Definetly a must try. The pizzas come here from fancy to plain. My favourites were the cheese and vegeterian pizzas. The service is good. The atomosphere is great and complete with music. (At least it was not loud). And now the bathrooms, they were upstairs and it defeinetly looks like they did do an upgrade on them, but they still are small. All is good, definetly a must try.

Outstanding Pizza!. Simply outstanding pizza! The crust was exceptionally well cooked. This was not surprising given the oven they shipped in from Naples (it's about the size of a Fiat). We took it to go, it traveled well, however if more than 15 mins drive, I recommend reheating when you get home. It brought the flavor right back out. The Pizza Pizza's days down the street are numbered!

Excellent, esp for the price. Went for lunch. They have what I think was a great deal, $20 for an app, a pizza and a small dessert. The pizza was great, probably my 2nd fave, after libretto. The crust it perfectly cooked, soft and light. The sauce too and my favourite part was the cheese. Great fior di latte!

My only downside was that they took really look to get us our food. Maybe it was a bad day but they took surprisingly long.

I of course still recommend it but don't go if you are in a rush. Take your time.

We enjoy the pizza here very much. The crust is properly chewy, blistered with a good amount of salt. Tomato sauce is bright and flavourful, cheese is creamy and rich. We have ordered the prix-fixe in the past but finding the appetizers and desserts of varying quality and size, have since ordered just the margherita, which imo, is the best choice. No frills, just great ingredients coming together to make a great pizza.

Really Good and Really Bad. Ok. So I really wanted to taste this pizza and compare it to the ever popular Libretto. Unfortunately, I willingly allowed myself to be sucked into the pizza war, and travelled from Brampton to the outsikrts of enemy lines in Leslieville, hoping to decide which side to fight on. My experience was both great, and not so great, as the service left alot to be desired and QMP must understand that with such inexpereinced solidiers, they are bound to suffer great losses in the end. We confuzzled the waiter (one of three assigned to us????) by asking for a typically Italian cocktail, we did not get a sufficient explanation about the "special flower" (as the waiter put it), used for the dough....AND we left outside for a cigarette, and waited five minutes upon our return to receive our pizza....which arrived cold, just to be blamed for this by our third waiter. Although they were lovely enough to make us fresh pizzas, I feel there was no need to make enemies out of possibble recruits. Oh!!! the wine list....bad, bad, bad wine. The waiter presented with a sad face when we opted for a choice outside of his recommendation, although he looked way too young to even purchase a bottle at the LCBO. There's more!!! After ordering a 2007, we were brought a 2009. As I caught this mistake, I was informed that once the restraurant runs out of a vintage, they offer the next best possibble option....should I not have been consulted on that prior to my noticing???? Needless to say, the experience did not meet my expectations. As for the taste, I loved the crispy basil atop the pizza, and highly enjoyed the cheese, which was fabulous and beats Libretto's. The dough was soft and lovely, and absolutely delicious. Since I love both pizzas, obviously, given the trying experience at QMP, I will frequent Libretto from now on as I have chosen to fight on the western front.

All was good !. Despite some mixed reviews here, our family of four met a friend for dinner here. Our online reservation was confirmed in 30 minutes. We had to change it 15 minutes before seating time due to subway delays and were delighted to be accomodated with no upset whatsoever.
On arrival, we were quickly seated and drinks were on the way within 10 minutes. Orders went in and our mains arrived about 30 minutes later. The Caesar salad was excellent and the pizzas were to die for.....as was the Italian Mac n Cheese (although my daughter found the cheeses rather strong - she opted for a few slices of cheese only pizza )
We polished off the meal with the Nutella Mousse...need I say more? and some Coffee Americano....
We will definately return ! A great experience !
(Tip: for a Monday, all seats were full by 7 p.m. so reserve ahead !)

A pleasant pizza experience. Atmosphere:
- A nice space set in what feels like a renovated warehouse. Charmingly worn floors, large bright windows, rustic wooden tables.
- I actually liked the downstairs (1st floor) more - it was so cozy.

Service:
- Very friendly and helpful. Overheard my friend contemplating the quatro fromaggio pizza and offered the useful advice that they would happily add tomato sauce to the pizza if she preferred.
- Good wine recommendations (we particularly liked the Ripasso)
- All items came out and were cleared quickly

Food:
- I had the polenta w/ bolognese ragout - hearty, flavorful, all around great
- My friend had the soup of the day (eggplant + garlic) - refreshingly light and tangy
- I prefer the crust at QMP to Libretto (thick and fluffy vs. thin and crispy) - but I think that is a matter of personal preference
- I didn't quite care for the tomato sauce on the pizza, and the toppings were a bit sparse (I had the margherita). It was good, but not great in my mind
- Desserts were great - we both had the chocolate hazelnut mousse and it was like eating a whipped ferrero rocher

Overall a pleasant experience. I would definitely go back if I was in the neighborhood, though I may not make the trip across town for it. Have to say Libretto still reigns supreme in my mind, but both have their pros and cons.

Better than Libretto. QMP is Vera pizza napoletana made by real neapolitans. The menu is simple and unlike Libretto is totally unpretentious. Our favorite Sunday lunch anywhere.

Judge it for yourself and forget the hype. I read alot about QM before I even walked in the door (and I live 3 minutes away from the place). I read about the comparisons to Libretto in the West and would this take the "pizza crown" away from it? At the end of the day, for those of us who live on this end of town, this is a great place simply because there aren't many restaurants like this, this far east (as in east of Greenwood). Yes, I think their pizza is outstanding, but I haven't been to Libretto nor am I ever likely to go across town simply to try a pizza. I love the crust and the toppings (my favourite is the prosciutto and arugula). I would agree with the reviews below about the service (our server was harried, overwrought and it looked/felt like she had never waited on tables in her entire life). I also felt that the "host" was a bit too "cool" for my liking - people, we're on the grungy end of Leslieville ... the part that most maps don't even acknowledge as being part of "hip" Leslieville ... so lose the attitude. Also, while I love the room itself, you find yourself shouting at your dinner companions for the entire evening since the noise level in there is close to ear-splitting. I also find it odd that you can only order prix-fixe or just pizza - why? At any rate, my recommendation is don't believe the hype either way and just judge it for yourself. I wasn't disappointed.

Perfectly fine, but nothing special. I had no complaints about QM, but I didn't think it was out-of-this-world, either. We're from the western edge of Leslieville and have been to Lil' Baci a fair bit -- I wouldn't say QM's pizza is significantly better or worse. I found the topping choices at Libretto a bit more interesting (woo, duck confit!).

Getting into specifics, I had the vegetarian pizza (zucchini, artichoke, mushrooms, olives) at QM and it was a tad bland (I had to add chili oil). My husband's choice of sausage & red onion was much better.

East meets West!. It you love the fluffy chewy Napolian style pizza you are in for a great bite.
Honestly i can't say Libreto is better or worse...i would have to have them side by side to compare. Simply amazing pizza at both places.
Was not too keen on the appetizers, no green salad!
Thought the layout was great- very different from the typical toronto layout:)!
Staff is very relaxed, no rush no worry attitude.
To conclude...i am glad Toronto's east meets west with pizza.

Finally.... ...good pizza on Queen East! Nice place sitting on top of the Red Rocket Coffee. We had the Diavola. Pretty tasty wood-oven pizza. Not too expansive if you're sharing like we did tonight. Friendly staff, even if they are a little too much on the trendy fad. It's not Terroni or Pizzeria Libretto, but it's very good and it's closer to home, so I'll be back!

Queen Margherita Pizza offers guests an authentic Italian pizza experience with its Neapolitan style recipe and hot fire oven.

Here's what I love about Queen Margherita:
- It's family friendly. (No, I don't have kids myself but I respect an establishment that's accommodating to all patrons)
- The Prix Fixe menu. What a great way to sample the menu for a very reasonable price! It's refreshing to see a prix fixe menu that doesn't break the bank.
- Location. I'm never on the East end so it was always a nice excuse to venture out to QM on Queen street. They've recently opened its doors on Dundas West, and now have 4 locations across downtown Toronto.

If you're tired of the same old take-out pizza place, give Queen Margherita a whirl!

Desi and I opted for an early dinner, we arrived around 5:30pm and the restaurant was empty. The have a smaller downstairs area which is more like the bar area and a spacious upstairs with an open pizza pit area. The restaurant is super industrial looking with exposed ceilings, brick walls, and giant windows but incredibly warm and cozy.

We started off with the Grilled Baby Squid served with arugula salad. I felt like the squid was undercooked but our waitress ensured us that was how the texture was supposed to be. It wasn't anything special or memorable.

The Giovanni Pizza, fior di latte, prosciutto di parma, arugula and cherry tomatoes, $19. The prosciutto wasn't overly salty and it was sliced paper thin which I loved. The arugula salad on top cut through the meaty prosciutto, the pizza felt light and healthy.

The Bello Pizza, mushrooms, goat cheese, red pepper, italian sausage, red onions, $17.

Out of the two pizzas, I enjoyed the Bello more. The homemade sausage was tasty and I loved the combination of all the toppings together. The crusts were crispy, light and airy all at the sometime.

For dessert we opted for the Hazelnut Tiramisu, creamy and not too sweet.

The pizzas here are solid and the service is friendly, a great neighbourhood gem. I would probably only make another visit if I was in the neighbourhood, wouldn't make a special trip.

I like the value and the portions here. The pizzas are oven baked to perfection. My favorite by far is the Giovanni. Dessert is also amazing and you can order affogato for dessert (espresso with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream)!! Mmm!

Great location for large and small groups.
