This place is amazing, it was my first time eating japanese food and truly this place has done justice.I ordered the pad thai noodles and also thai curry and it has a proper authentic taste to it.It also has a good ambience
Good place to visit on a Saturday
This place gets really crowded so ensure you have a reservation
The "All You Can Taste" menu is top notch. You tell your server what you want off the menu, and they bring you a taste-sized portions. What stands out is the quality, across the board. So good! Favorite dishes include: chicken satay, coconut shrimp, red curry, anything from the grill, any of the sushi, General Tao chicken, and cashew nut chicken. Fried rice and gyoza aren't as good.
We go for lunch and eat like kings for $18.
I have been reading some recent reviews and lets just say I'm shock. I haven't eaten here for over six months but twice in a row before that. Both times for lunch. One of our suppliers had taken my boss and I there the first time and we requested the second visit. So I can't speak on the price because it was covered. I can't recall all the names of the dishes we had but there were five of us and we ordered plenty of plates and varies types of sushi and we enjoyed them all. I can recall service being a bit slow at times but not awful. I will have to return to see why all the bad reviews.
Great place for brunch! The waiting time can be around 30 mins on weekends which can be a put off!! The service is okay.. Not really fast . The food us great though, I had sushi before at a really bad place.. Spoon & fork actually made me love Sushi !!!
The Spoon and Fork on Queensway was surprisingly well done. They have several locations across the GTA and Toronto, but follow the same kind of style. Very nice decor and a bit of a fancier Asian infused style. Though not all of them are AYCE, this particular location is.
Menu is Asian fusion as they have a lot of items from Thai and Sushi to some french and Japanese items. They had some pretty interesting items for lunch such as escargot and even sashimi, which is great. The sushi here isn't the greatest, but it was definitely pretty good for AYCE. The hot foods are surprisingly very good. They have items like Thai skewers and lots of different chickens, beef, and pork dishes. One of my favorite items happened to be Thai Basil Fish which was actually very meaty and cooked well. Lots of nice surprises from Spoon and Fork.
They have a very nice patio and the service is friendly. I came during the week for lunch so the price was $16.99, which wasn't bad at all considering the quality of the AYCE and the ambiance of the place.
Was there first time today for lunch. We were the first ones right at opening and thought it might be reasonably quiet. we left an hour later and the place was jam packed. We both had the chef's special chicken satay with pad thai. It was different but I reasonably enjoyed. The service was very good. Japanese is not a normal for me though but it's good for a change. I thought the plate was just a bit smallish.
This restaurant has a really nice ambiance about it. I sat outside on the patio because it was a really nice day out and it wasn't busy because I came for an early dinner.
There's a buffet option or a la carte. Buffet dinner was $27.99 and you basically order off a menu and they make it for you fresh in a small portion. Sounds a bit silly to me as I like to have a buffet in front of me so I ordered a la carte instead and had the orange cashew chicken for $15 + $2 for steamed rice. It was really good and the portion was really big that I couldn't even finish. Made more sense than the "buffet".
Best AYCE sushi. The 'Tasting" menu has a variety of delicious dishes. Spoon and fork has the tastiest and freshest ayce sashimi and sushi rolls in my opinion. Although prices are a bit more then your average AYCE sushi price, it it well worth it!
A very nice eclectic menu!. I took my wife for her birthday. It was an excellent choice. I had good service and the food was elicious and nicely presented. We enjoyed ourselves very much.
Amazing food, good prices. I had the crab fried rice for $14 and it was to die for. The portions were great and the service and good. I would recommend this restaurant.
Best Thai !!! And I've tried many to compare.
For those of u who have complained about the all-you-can eat, try the a-la-carte. Order just what u want and enjoy the delicious dishes.
It was excellent! I don't understand the bad reviews here. Food was surprisingly good! Service was okay but satisfied. Food comes out fast and fresh! We had to wait about an hour to get a seat on the weekend. So good idea is to make reservation before going. Overall, satisfied and happy belly!
Excellent food and atmosphere. This was my first visit to Spoon and Fork. Food was much better than other “All you can Eat” Thai and Japanese fusion cuisine I have tried at downtown. The interior was awesome. I will say this place is perfect for a date. I will suggest going for a lunch as dinner is quite expensive. One thing I first heard here is if I can’t finish what I ordered then I have to pay extra for those foods (which causes kind of mental pressure on me). It’s quite far from Toronto and quite expensive so not sure I’m going back there near soon.
For The Love Of Food
+4.5
Bravo!. It's like an a la carte-buffet. It's fabulous. You get to pick what you want from a very large menu and they bring you unlimited quantities based on your request(s). The quality and ambience are excellent for the amount you pay. The food tasted pretty good. I really enjoyed their edamame, green curry and mango salad.
I first was sceptic about going there for some time but my brother and sister-in-law convinced me to make a dinner reservation for my husbands birthday. When the four of us got there our table was ready and waiting for us on time. Our waiter was fast with getting us our orders and was on point. My husband who loves to eat a LOT loved the food! We went there two more times. The last time we went the server we got seemed a little slow at service and we had to explain to him 2-3 times what we wanted, he even took longer to give us our bill and change. Lets hope that next time will be better than the last.
Really good!. Wanted to try something new tonight! Spoon and Fork did not disappoint! Great menu selection, busy, vibrant.... Great place to be on a long weekend!
Great food, very spotty service. Be prepared to wait and have servers forget your order.
Get stuffed in under 20 mins!. Good value for your money, and the quality is never lacking unlike some all you can eat hell holes. The ambience is really high end.... Good for date night..
Amazing food. The buffet option is a great bonus. The service is great. Bit of a wait before you're seated but it's worth it. Also, lots of MSG in the food, so a bit unhealthy. Other then that, it's perfect
Spoon & Fork Neyagawa location. We are so happy to get our very own walk too location. This is a great restaurant to take away or eat in. Truly some of the best Asian cuisine around and the choice of regional cooking is almost overwhelming. This is not your typical Chinese food restaurant. The food is fresh, vibrant and addictive. Add this location to your must go to list. PS the mac& cheese is a winner - unexpected little treat for the picky eaters at home.
My family and I celebrated a birthday dinner here yesterday. Food was delicious, fresh, everything came out fast, service was excellent from our server Hang. Told us to order a couple things at a time to gurantee the food will be nice and hot and we don't waste food. Will definitely come back with colleagues for lunch.
Happy Diners. The food is remarkable compared to the Mandarin next door.
Fresh, tasty and our server; Emma; was attentive, knowledgeable,
gracious and professional. We had the lunch $16.99 menu and
stunned at the value for excellent cuisine. We'll be there at least
once a week.
Friends took me to Spoon & Fork a few months ago, been back 4 times already. great food, quick service & more than fair pricing.
Great place for food, and has that club vibe to it.
Consistent Yum Factor. Looking for Oriental cuisine in the burbs that is consistent and AYCE? This is the spot. Always leave with a stomach full of delicious food - Pad Thai, Sushi, Peanut Chicken etc. etc. Perhaps a bit on the pricey side, but you get your money's worth, particularly if you have a good appetite. Enjoy!
Every dish here was incredible. The sashimi and tataki were delicious. The curries were better than any I had while traveling Thailand. The soups and salads were divine. With such high quality dishes, I can't believe I only had to pay $27 for all you can eat.
I am from Vancouver and I loved it. I was a bit scared to try Sushi in the Toronto area, mostly because the reviews of most places in the area have mixes reviews. I am from Vancouver and I think we have some of the best Sushi in the world.
So my son suggested this place, his boss had taken them there. I give this place a 5 out of 5, the price is reasonable, we went at the all you can eat. The service was incredible, the server kept busy bringing food for 4 very hungry people. I highly recomend the Butter fish sashimi it is to die for. we tried a lot of dishes and soups, had some sake. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and very well decorated. VERY IMPRESSED.
Everything was Top-Notch. I had never been, so we decided to go there for my birthday on a Tuesday night. It was just starting to get packed so we were very lucky to get in without a reservation. We were impressed with the classy, minimalist decor. We were very wise to chose the $26.99 tasting menu, which meant we could order anything off the menu with no limit as to how many dishes you could have (I hate to call it "All you can eat", as that has a bad connotation and this place is far above your typical AYCE.) My husband and I started off with some coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp and vegetables, mango salad and Japanese salad. We decided to skip the soup course and went straight for the maki-sushi. The lobster one was divine! It had a few different layers of flavours that I had never tasted before. We then had a California hand roll and finished off this course with a dynamite roll. The mayonnaise sauce was perfectly spiced. I must mention that we did ask our waiter for suggestions and he was spot on everytime. But then again, I think that everything they make here is probably spot on. Afterwards we had the grilled steak teriyaki, peanut sauce shrimp, cashew nut chicken, vegetarian pad Thai, ginger beef and south side Thai rice with shrimp. Please note that these were not huge platters of food; rather, it's a tasting menu and a lot of people forget that. What's the point of filling yourself up with lots of food early on and then not being able to enjoy the rest of the courses because you're bursting at the seams? The food was just enough for the two of us (we do not like to eat like pigs at the trough just because something is AYCE : ) Anyways, I can't wait to go back again for another special occasion! I honestly can't find anything wrong with this place.
EDIT: I just remember one thing I didn't like - they should give you some extra plates or take away your plate after you have finished a course. I had to use the same plate for three different courses.
The food is delicious, such a great variety of food. The service is top notch, food comes so fast and quality is the best. AYCE dinner is a bit pricey but it's very worth it.
Yummyy!!. I LOVE this place! I had been to another Spoon & Fork location however, I wasn't too pleased with that location. This location is amazing! The decor, service, food, everything is top notch! We were given a beautiful booth near the door with comfortable chairs and cool decor. I love how the spoons, forks, and knives surround the light, it makes the light stand out. The food was DELICIOUS!! Our server, Jack, was very attentive, and kept the food coming despite being very busy himself. The sushi was one of the best sushi I have ever tasted, it was fresh with the perfect amount of flavour. The price is GOOD! Only $17.99 for all you can eat lunch, and everything came out fresh and within a good amount of time. The place was packed and I definitely know why; you won't be disappointed if you come here, trust me, it will be worth the money! But be sure to make reservations or you will be waiting for a long time!
A keeper!. The area is slowly growing and I welcome spoon and fork as the hip new restaurant with alot of flare. Although I dont really like 'all you can eat places', I ordered off the a-la-carte menu and everything was delicious and portions were perfect. I would compare this to Moxies or Milestone, just with an asian twist. The server was polite and always attentive to what we wanted. I have been to thier other locations, including JJs in Mississauga in Streetsville, they continue to impress!
Sahib. I have been several times and every time I've and asked for MUSSELS, I've been informed they are not available, if they are not available take them off the menu
Completely lived up to the hype. Finally made reservations (tried going several times spontaneously, never got in) - only down side to the night was our server taking close to 10 minutes to greet us and take our drink order. Beyond that, service was outstanding. Not sure why people are complaining about portion size - IT'S ALL YOU CAN EAT - just get more lol. We had Hot & Sour + Pumpkin Curry soups to start - both were great. Followed by coconut shrimp, dynamite roll, salmon pizza, spicy california roll, green curry chicken, beef and chinese broccoli, and pad thai. We were both happy with all the selections. Considering the quality of the food, $26.99 is not a bad price when you look across the street and see what people pay for Mandarin. Definitely returning again soon...
My 5th time here and for the 5th time I feel its soooooooo overpriced. $70 AYCE dinner for 2 tax and tip included (no drinks). For that price tea should be free. I went to I s a nice place but only go if you have a money tree growing in your backyard...
Good food but the service is horrid. I've been there a few times now and each time there have been ordered items that weren't delivered to the table.
Great place to enjoy all you can eat Thai and sushi with a group of friends.
Food was delicious but the service was quite slow. we had to inquire about missing items a few times.
Consistent favorite. I began going to spoon & fork before this particular location had opened and i am continuously amazed and satisfied by their cleanliness, friendly staff and absolutely phenomenal food. their chicken pad thai has to be my favorite. it is delicious and never disappoints. keep up the great work on the amazing dishes and hope it stays successful!
Took my cousin from out of town to The Spoon and Fork last night and she was quite pleased, as was I. We got there around 9:20 (not knowing the restaurant closed at 10) yet they still advised us to go for the all you can eat option for $24. We were going to split a few things anyways so this was the way to go. We ordered crazy sushi roll, California, golden dragon, spicy sushi and vegetarian maki as well as curry pad Thai (not the greatest I've had) as well as mango sushi and curry pumpkin soup. They do charge you for items that are left uneaten if there is a large amount left over. The greeter and buser were extremely sweet, but our particular waiter was not too friendly. The restauraunt on the inside and out is very nice. Great food and atmosphere. I shall return :)
It's accpetable, good value for lunch. I only came here for lunch. It's clean and nice decor. I agree the food is not that authentic nor are the spectacular, but I still think they meets expectations for a "buffet style" lunch. I actually really like that the food is brought to you, so it limits the amount of food you eat (prevents over-eating or wastes food). Buffet ALWAYS makes people over eat. I think this is a decent place to come for lunch, good value, and the food is acceptable, but not awesome.
Great food, fancy inside but don't let that scare ya! Not overly loud and great place to have a social meal! Despite having to ask more than once for something when ordering from the all you can eat. Recommended!
Great place-great food!. I have been a fairly regular customer at the Spoon and Fork on Eglinton Ave. West - close to my office This new location is apparently more like their Oakville restaurant and close to where I live. All in all it is a beautiful addition to the pretty drab Queensway and has a patio - albeit not with a great view but it is very nicely appointed as is the interior.
They offer both a prix fixe lunch ($16) and an a la carte lunch. The prix fixe is a tasting menu so if there are three of you, order two of each appetizer. If there's a dish you'll all want to indulge in order two. Otherwise order whatever sounds good. I had never had their salmon pizza and what a surprise - little tiny pressed rice cakes lightly coated and baked with a little dab of sauce, a teaspoon of salmon sushi and topped with tiny caviar - delicicious.
I was entertaining two clients, one who loved Thai and Japanese food and another who was not into spicy tastes. Both seemed quite satisfied and talked about going back.Service was very pleasant and organized.
This restaurant is a great addition to the neighbourhood - one where we were previously in search of a great place to eat.
Awesome decor -- the place has a very cool vibe. One of the best (if not THE best) All You Can Eat menus I've ever seen. Very fresh sashimi, none of us were disappointed with any of our rolls...and we had many! Pad thai was pretty good, although quite a bit of sauce. Staff were friendly, although the warning to "not go nuts" with the all you can eat, was a bit unnecessary. I would definitely suggest it to friends/family who are looking for a slightly nicer all you can eat sushi environment.
Wonderfully modern and civilized with great food to boot. Have been twice so far and have booked in again for Mother's Day. Recommend the all you can eat option if it's your first time so you can taste a variety of dishes.
Awesome meal with wonderful friends!!!. Just went to the Spoon & Fork for the first time and I can honestly say, as a neighbourhood resident.....I AM VERY EXCITED!!! We had an amazing meal with awesome service and an all in all wonderful evening! We WILL return and will look forward to it! The food was fresh and well prepared. The service was wonderful and what more could you ask for than a great meal with nice staff and owners taking care of you!!! Reservations are recommended as the line up was out the door when we left.
Best all you can taste Japanese (+ thai) restaurant around. I've been to at least 7all you can eat restaurants (including woo & mandarin) in Toronto and this is by far the best all you can eat restaurant around if you like Japanese and Thai food.
Place has just opened, very modern and clean, friendly prompt service. Tried 10 dishes and all were good if not great. Fav: shrimp tempura, satay beef skewers, curry pad thai and curry pumpkin are a must try. Some other specialty items I'd recommend are the mango sticky rice dessert and ginger ice cream (these are not common and worth trying). For the adventurous: the Thai coconut soup, which hinted taste of yogurt and coconut. The chicken skewers were slightly dry but then I'm not much for white meat. Sushi and sashimi were all round good, fresh and well presented like in Japan. I don't know how they do it but for an all you can eat restaurant, not one dish was disappointing. I'm definitely going back.
