Love this place. Amazing portion sizes and quality food for a good price. The calamari, chicken souvlaki and salmon are a must. Very thankful they now have UberEats and Skip the Dishes for delivery.
My family really enjoy coming in quiet often to this restaurant. The little Greek lady Maria is such a wonderful waitress, she goes out and beyond serving us. Absolutely wonderful, every-time we come in we very satisfied with huge smiles on faces. I Definitely recommend this place because of this beautiful soul.
My family and I had a delicious dinner. Bayview Post was correct in giving this family the plaque for serving the best chicken souvlaki dinner in Toronto. It was tender, juicy and big. We recommend this restaurant. We will come back this weekend to try their breakfast.
Just finished having lunch with my colleagues and I have to say that the food and service was superb. Huge portions for fair price. I had rack of lamb and it was very tender and delicious. Suzzy was our server. She was fast, kind and always had a big smile. This is my 3rd time there and I plan on celebrating my child's birthday there next month.
My family and I went to Windfields for Father's Day and it was the perfect family restaurant for the occasion. I ordered Atlantic salmon fillet which was fresh and very tasty. My daughter ordered a large chicken souvlaki dinner which came with roast potatoes rice and an amazing Greek salad. My son had a clubhouse with fresh real turkey, my husband ordered above AAA prime beef which he couldn't stop raving about. the portion sizes were huge everything was cooked to perfection the atmosphere and service was 10 out of 10 it was an excellent experience can't wait to go back!

Going to this place is like diving into a time warp - faded decor, stale carpets, cane & walker dependent clientele. It's not meant to be insulting or ageist but upon entrance to the restaurant it feels like living a relic of history back a few decades ago.
At the same time I was told from independent sources that it's a family owned business that manages to hang in over decades in sea changes. I have also heard good reviews about this place thru word of mouth in accidentally and unexpected contexts. I have also accompanied older folks on a few occasions here when this place remains their favourite one.
During those occasions - I think the food is competent at a competitive price point. Service is excellent without being intrusive. Overflow parking available at the back is a bonus but generally not a problem in the area anyway. If one can get over its retirement home ambiance (which I managed to - if food is the main item of consideration) I think Windfield's punches above its weight.
The garlic bread was decent - and on the house -- but you can order more -- essentially all you can eat. I thought that was quite generous. And I find that bread more than adequate and have no complaints vs other finer restaurants around the area. I have tried their NY steak as well as roast beef. The NY steak that I order is often made/defaulted more Chicago style and medium rare and which I appreciate. I have had the roast beef on one occasion which was overcooked and without hesitation the waitress got one for me another piece which was medium to medium rare. I was told by my party however that pork chops have been consistently overcooked and on the tough side and dry. Fries were just mass-produced frozen fries. The drink menu is limited but not restrictive but given the venue never expected this to be a wine cellar. Desserts are on par with better establishments based on feedback and having tried it thought were decent.
In the end it's competent niche, and offers a wide selection of comfort food for a tailored demographic. The nit-pickings described certainly are not fatal. If only a background lullaby were in play this could be escape heaven - a non-chic inner sanctum within an increasing busy and frantic Toronto that could put even the most serious diner to snooze.
We have been eating at Windfield for over two decades. It is one of the best family type restaurants in the area and always large portions of great food. Their souvlaki diner is as good as the Danforth with big portions. The Bagel and smoked salmon is delicious. They also have lobster tails on the weekend.
The 7 or 8 specials always include soup or salad plus dessert and coffee.
Ask Irene or Renata to make you a milkshake.
You know the place is good when you see the same customers each night.
It is like a family friendly restaurant that is a meeting place for family and friends.
People just keep coming back for the friendly staff and great home style cooking with big portions.
Try Irene's pies or rice pudding.
Just a great regular place to eat.
Had a great New Years!. I have been coming to Windfields since I was little girl and I am happy that it is still around so that I can now bring my young children. I had a wonderful prime rib dinner and they did not charge extra because it was NYE. My children were still able to order off the kid's menu and they even let my husband have all day breakfast at night during the busiest time of year. It just showed us that this restaurant truly cares for their customers with still large and tasteful portions
We had a great time and would tell anyone that this family run restaurant is worth visiting!

My 85 year old father had a heart attack while eating at this restaurant. The family acted fast and saved my dads life and I wanted to thank them because we are from another province and did not get the chance. I wish your business and family all the Heath and success. It's a good spot.... Came here for the All Day Breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Looking for reasonable priced food and portions that are more than enough this is the Greasy spoon or diner style spot to go to that's uptown in the Yorkmills/Leslie area.
Good old diner menu and servers that show a human side to them, they don't always smile.
Simply the BEST!!!. Windfield's has something for everyone. The food and atmosphere are great. The wait staff get to know you very quickly and are so friendly when you come in again. We go there for casual breakfasts, lunches and dinners and also for special occasions. The menu is varied, portions sizes are large and always tasty.
Everyone I have taken to this restaurant always goes back again.
By far, one of the best Restaurants in Toronto. I was driving home from work and was starved when I noticed Windflied's and decided to stop in. Their food was absolutely mouth watering, very friendly staff, with easy and available parking.
I have a reservation with a couple friends for Wednesday, can't wait to introduce them to Windflied's !
You Can't Go Wrong Here. Windfield's is a restaurant that has a bit of everything for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they do it all well. I've ordered a large selection from their menu and I've never had a bad meal. The portions are generous and well prepared. My personal favourites are the soul, lamb souvlaki, and the Parisienne salads. The prices are reasonable and fair; a true family restaurant.
Go there often enough and you'll get to know the staff who are a friendly lot. The decor is pleasant and the place is clean from top to bottom.
You can tell it's a successful restaurant because it's been there for years and it's always well attended at the dinner hour, especially Friday through Sunday. You can make reservations if you really want to make sure you can get a table. Windfield's has character and is always a pleasant experience. Three cheers for consistency and quality.

A Great First !. We had our Business Lunch yesterday at Windfields Restaurant on York Mills rd from a reccomendation by a businesss associate who has his office located near by the restaurant, I must say that we all were very pleased with the quality of food and fast service. We has reserved for ten people, Windfields had wonderful lunch specials that started at $7.95 and included a homemade soup or salad. I ordered a fresh mediteranean chicken wrap, along with the butternut squash and apple soup... Excellent!!
My colleague had the pasta of the day which was a seafood linguinni and a homemade tomato sauce along with a greek salad. He mentioned that it was very tasty and fresh, two other co-workers also enjoyed the all-beef hamburger and the montreal smoked meat sandwhich on rye from the specials board menu. I must say that as the waitress brought each persons plate out to the table each meal looked great! I especially want to try the home made Halibut fish and chips next time, or the white meat open faced hot turkey sandwhich which is actually real turkey. Everyone enjoyed our business lunch and even though the restaurant was full and people were in line waiting to be seated our food came out quite fast. The waitress was very knowledgable, experienced and very friendly. I complimented her and asked her how long she had been working at this restaurant, to which she had replied almost twenty years!!
Pricing at this restaurant is very reasonable, considering the large portion of food that are served on the plate. Atleast a couple of co-workers had taken some of their food home in take out containers. There was ample parking in the lot and in fact they have a parking attendant who reserves the parking spaces for restaurant customers. Overall it was a great lunch experience and we will be reserving another business lunch at this restaurant very soon.

Fantastic family restaurant. I went there for breakfast with my family. The food was amazing and serve was great. I would recommend this place as your favorite place to relaxe and enjoy time with your family.
Far from a great restaurant. Descent greasy spoon at best. If you want volume this is the place for you, the food is descent & quantities are good. Very simply, very basic. If you are a lover of really great food this is not a place for you. As far as breakfast is concerned.... Ya, I'd do it again.
