Delicious butter curry, fresh naan! The best mango lessi I’ve ever had in my life. Wonderful customer service, thank you for the recommendations. It tasted like I was in Delhi.
We love Indian cuisine and have tried many many different spots both in Toronto and the UK. The food here is outstanding. Highly recommend.
Craving for Indian cuisine landed me here. The ambience is good for a family setup. The walls are covered with portraits from famous landmarks of India. Coming to the service, it is very prompt and the staff members extremely polite and courteous. Table reservations are recommended since this place is crowded. Although, I feel you would have to wait at max 5-10 mins.
Now the USP of the place - the food!! Rich in flavour, rich in presentation and rich in Indianess. A must visit for all. We had tried the Paneer Makhani, Butter Naan and Onion Kulcha and all of them were top notch. Special mention is the Onion Kulcha - warm from the oven and dripping with Butter. We had taken Vegetable Biriyani for takeout and it was worth it - authentic flavours and had paneer, cauliflower, corn and other vegetables. I am sure going to visit this place often and try other items on the menu. Keep up the good work and spread the love.
We've been reading rave reviews about Copper Chinmey for a while now and finally visited it for lunch today. It is a rather small place located on a very busy stretch of Avenue Road north of Lawrence Ave W and with extremely limited street parking.
We ordered the following:
1. Garlic Vegetable Balls - Six vegetable & cheese dumplings in a thick tomato based sauce served on a bed of finely shredded cabbage & carrots. Unexpected showstealer, superbly executed
2. Tandoori Chicken - Classical tandoori chicken which tasted as if the marinade had been kept on a long time and penetrated deep inside the chicken. However, though the flavours were amazing, it was a tad dry and lacked the "smokiness" imparted by the coal embers in a traditional tandoor
3. Lamb Vindaloo - The benchmark for me with a vindaloo has been Delhi Dharbar in Sandton, Johannesburg. I felt that this one came very close to it but the wife said it surpassed it for her. This has very tender pieces of lamb in a thick and spicy gravy alongwith 2 pieces of potato
4. Fish Methi Malai - Creamy curry with perhaps a little too much of the methi influencing the taste and imparting a slight bitterness which I liked but was perhaps not to the kids' or the missus' taste. The fish tasted very fresh and was quite plentiful
5. Butter Naan - I've had much better. The naan was thick and lacked the most important ingredient - butter !! A proper butter naan to me needs to be crispy on the outside and soft of the inside plus being coated generously with butter. This definitely wasn't
6. Vegetable Pulao - A very well made pulao having peas, green beans, carrots, cauliflower and paneer with very good quality basmati rice. Definitely a winner
7. Mango Lassi - It's taste reminded me of the Haldiram Mango Shrikhand that I've enjoyed so much in the past. The cardamom seemed to be overwhelming the mango which I didn't mind
The service was very prompt and efficient in not only serving the food quickly but also while clearing away the used plates as well as refilling the water. The total bill including tip came to around $110. This has now become one of our go-to Indian restaurants.
Consistently delicious no matter which dish we order. Nothing can ever be spicy enough for my partner but the chicken vindaloo extra spicy is the speciest thing he's found! I've always enjoyed the pakora, chickpea and lentil dishes I've had and their commitment really shows in how their white rice is quite beautifully presented. Watch for seed pods in the rice! Overall, we're lucky time have this fantastic restaurant so nearby.
Excellent and Authentic Indian restaurant. Simply loved their food and relished all that I missed so badly. I'm a vegetarian and all the dishes tasted perfectly- as I expected. Be it mutter paneer, Palakkad Kofta or bhindi masala - they all tasted yumm. Will surely visit this place again!
Next Time: The food is simply awesome everytime I visit this place. Had a wonderful meal and now have a huge smile on my face :)
Finally! I’ve been meaning to go to The Copper Chimney since I heard about it being relatively near my home. A great Indian place that’s also accessible? Count me in!I love Indian food, especially tandoori-style cooking, so Copper Chimney’s cooking was perfect for me. This morning, under finally warm skies, I eagerly dragged my mom out to get a taste of this praised restaurant.
Just ordered delivery from Copper Chimney for the first time and it is amazing. I ordered the chicken masala and the paneer tikka and I am blown away.
Four of us visited this restaurant tonight for the first time. I had heard good reports about it and found them all to be true.
The restaurant is small and intimate and presents a really nice atmosphere. The servers and host are all very attentive and friendly.
We ordered the chicken vindaloo, butter chicken, malabari fish and fish masala. All four dishes were excellent as were the samosas we started with.
This is definitely a restaurant that I will frequent.
Good Food and Good Service. Nice Indian food.. We are regular at Copper Chimney for many years , Always been happy with food and Service.
I love this restaurant!. The food is phenomenal; my personal favourite is the paneer tikka. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Great value. Probably better than Amaya and Jaipur Grille.
My favourite Indian Restaurant!. Excellent food, fantastic service, very fair prices and portions! Love coming here! Make a reservation as it's busy - especially on weekends.
Let the friendly young waitress help you order! We were going to order old standby favorites and asked her suggestions for a third dish. She encouraged us to try something new and we were very pleased with her choices. Excellent flavors, quick friendly service. Highly recommend!
We live in the neighborhood and have visited this place many times.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants in town. The ambiance and atmosphere is very authentic. The salon and the bathrooms are clean. The owner and staff are very polite and attentive (the owner often shakes hands with patrons and welcomes them and often "walks you out" on departure). The food portions are appropriate size, not small enough that you are still hungry and not too large so you feel stuffed.
Best Indian in Toronto Hands Down!. Great price, spicey homemade food. They've mastered flavor with quality and substance. On top of that, a great price. I'll be back again for sure. The place was packed, which is always a good sign
In my opinion it is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Great tandoori and butter chicken dishes.
Great Indian Food. We've never been disappointed with this cute restaurant's amazing food. Some family favorites are the butter chicken, aloo gobi, and garlic naan. Two of the absolute best dishes though are the prawn coconut curry (we always ask for the leftover sauce to go), and the onion kulcha (similar to a naan with onion and spices cooked in).
A must try.

Love love love this place. some of the best indian food i've had, amazing flavours that blend so well together. awesome service too, they always make us feel at home.
Fast becoming one of my favourite Indian dishes to order I love the Tandoori grill, the Tikka Chicken and of course the tender Lamb all cooked with those flavourful spices. First dish ordered and on it’s way now we can really settle into what we want for dinner and since we are all eating family style we can order as many dishes as we like for everyone to share and try.
