What a fantastic experience. From the second we got here, the atmosphere was cozy, welcoming ,and honestly unassuming relative to the incredible quality of the food.
The wonderfully fresh and tasty bread, a cornerstone of French cuisine, set the bar for the meal to follow. We got some mussels in a white wine sauce and I found myself having to avoid looking like a greedy pig because they were incredible. I asked for a wine recommendation and they couldn't have served a more appropriate pairing with the mussels. We soaked up the wine sauce with the bread; at this point it was literally worth what we paid for the entire evening.
The main courses we got were lamb ribs and frog legs, each served with potatoes and vegetables. every single aspect of these dishes was divine. such relatively simple dishes danced around in an orchestra of complexity, seasonings complementing the nature of the taste of each respective meat. even the lowly potatoes somehow expressed an incredibly appropriate and satisfying taste and role within the dish. I didn't even know I liked potatoes until now, despite decades of trying. again, the wine pairings were on point, and complemented the flavors of each dish exactly as intended. each ingredient and wine was of an extremely high quality, needless to say.
dessert was two scoops of sorbet in a martini glass upon which perched a tick of mint. we got a small serving of grand marnier along with it. it was a light and pleasant conclusion to a wonderful meal. furthermore, I don't know if you could find better sorbet at a dedicated iced desserts establishment.
This is in the top three best meals and food experiences I've had in my life. I can't believe I hadn't been here yet, but I intend to make up for it. it was $70 for food and $40 for drinks but I would have paid $500 and been completely satisfied. The tip definitely reflected my overwhelming satisfaction.
If this sounds incredibly pretentious, it's because it is. I'm not even sorry. I urge you to go here so that you can revel in the culinary nirvana delivered by a little French lady carrying a smile and a plate of food. vive la France; vive le montmartre
La nourrite est delicieuse et le service est excellent et le tratement
a ses clients est un regel comme a la maision et la famille et entoure
de bons amis.
Quaint atmosphere, slightly dated but carries the old French charm, lovely owner and sweet server, a little gem of a place this part of town. Food was delicious! Merci!

We have been driving past the restaurant for many years but had never gone in. On Thursday we decided to celebrate my husband's birthday there. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience and music was perfect. We will definitely be back. The Caesar salad was absolutely divine.
Excellent food ....nice atmosphere....our guests were delighted ....place for sure to return ..........merci beaucoup
I love your food, your service and the ambience...Thanks for all you do. Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel..I will come for dinner on the 27th with my friend Dean...a bientot!
Amazing food and service, second time for me and this time we had a wonderful time. Music , wine and the "smell" of french makes the day perfect .
Thank you
Beautiful, quaint and cozy ambiance with lots of care and hospitality. The food was at another level of excellence. The escargot was superb, the duckling was perfect and the dessert...oh the dessert...ooh la la!
Wonderful experience! Delicious food, excellent service & warm atmosphere!!!
Yes, truly excellent in décor, cuisine & imported atmosphere from Paris!
I've eaten at Le Montremarte many times, never been disappointed, but was not there last night.
Reminds me of my time in France as a teen.
We enjoyed dinner here for my daughter's 26th birthday recently. The reception was pleasant, we were seated quickly, and the food quite tasty (5/6 meals were great, the steak was average) with high praise for the duck and lamb. Scallops were delicious, but small portion (only 4) reduced the value for food somewhat ($38). The service was the true disappointment, with our entrees coming 45 minutes after starter dishes were cleared.
I'd definitely give it another shot, but perhaps be more forthright in my time expectations.
Not very central but nice environment and great cuisine. The owner is very attentive as well as the staff. Nice wine list. Will definitely come back.
Salute! We came here for the first time last night. I ate FROG LEGS for the first time and they were WONDERFUL!
It's located in a narrow building next to a tiny plaza. If you've never been there use a GPS you might miss it!
There is very little parking at the front but you can drive between the buildings and there is more parking in the back.
It's a cute little building. We came as a large group for book club and were sat in a room off the door. It was nice. Note: was rooms are downstairs
Took a peak at the other side, its really nice, tasteful, and classy.
Table seating, comfortable seats and we'll lit.
I ordered a peach Martini to start. It was really good. Would get it again.
I got the pâté app. Mixed reviews on that one. The pâté was tasty, thick sliced with a peppercorn topping. It was on a bed of chopped romaine lettuce with halved cherry tomatoes. That was a bit odd. The only thing wring, is that for the size of the pâté we could have used a few more crispy bread medallions. It comes with 4, 6 would have been better. But it is something I'd get again.
For the main I had frog legs. They were delicious. Tender, and soft. They had a delicate flavour. They were tossed in was a butter and herb sauce. Perfect, I just wanted to lick my plate, that's how good it was
Everyone enjoyed their meals. The salmon and trout were big hits.
It's a nice restaurant, the people that work there are great. We had a bit of an oops with the bill, the staff couldn't have been nicer with the resolution. It says a lot when they they go out of their way to make things easier for you!
Only thing.. Desserts aren't worth it. Nothing special. Go somewhere else.
We like it so much we are going back next week. It's going to be a trying frog legs for the first time. Too late for me, I'm going to try the salmon and escargots!! Watch for more pictures!
Good food, great service, quaint ambience. Romantic for dates (husband took me there for our birthday). Will definitely go back.
Delicious and cozy French atmosphere. Delicious French food reasonably priced based on quality and quantity. French speaking staff and very cozy French atmosphere. Hidden gem in Toronto. Will be returning on valentine's day !
Romantic spot for date night. This is a special spot for my husband and I. The food is delicious and the wine is good. All of the staff is French so it's a nice escape from the average Toronto restaurant. We love the portobello salad (delicious), the escargot, scallops are to die for (I crave them), lobster bisque soup is good, chicken dishes are good, and my husband likes the frog legs (I'm not brave enough to try). It's a nice cozy place, romantic, and really good food. Our favourite French restaurant. We've been to Auberge du P., but something about Montmartre is more intimate and I'd rather go there on date night.
Nice but not super. The päté du chef was 2 thin slices of something unidentified but good, though a bit on the stingy side; the moules were good though there was fennel in it and I don't like this herb. I forget about dessert. May be not that memorable. We loved the cosy atmosphere and the hearth fire. Good service; reasonable prices.
