I decided to go for the unique “Double Pancake Pork Burger” and I’m so glad that I did! It turned out to be really tasty. It was literally like a burger with pork patties doubly stacked and instead of buns, they used pancakes! I’m not too fond of sweet and savory foods like pancakes with salty burgers but this combination turned out to work so well together.

如果平時中意落club /bar既人或者會中意
音樂太太太大聲!好唔舒服頭都痛,機乎聽唔到朋友講野
轉枱坐最入矮枱,好好多

我叫左Nap Time Special (6oz steak) with duck fat home fries
Steak medium,滿分!

店內出名係Pad Thai Fries ,會有少少辣。唔食得辣既就盡量叫其他

如果女仔去食,建議share
真係太大份,有時佢比半碟薯條
好大機會食剩

另外試左Bacon explosion Benedict
其實佢係肉碎漢堡包煙肉
Poached egg

My fixation with brunch and Instagram lead me to Lisa Marie. Each week, for months, Lisa Marie posted a photo of the sexiest pancakes I've never seen, S'Mores Pancakes. I simply cannot resist toasted marshmallows; I was doomed/destined to try them, so I wrangled together 5 more foodies and off we went. Brunch AF.

I’m a sucker for a good brunch spot. I’m especially a sucker for a brunch spot that’s in my neighbourhood.

I discovered Lisa Marie from a foodie friend that was visiting Toronto. And boy am I glad I mustered the energy to wake up early to meet her for brunch. As per most brunch places in downtown Toronto, it gets busy. Insider tip: they take reservations!

As part of the Summerlicious menu ($28 for dinner, regular prices listed in post below), kimchi was used in the Alabama tailgaters ($11) and Seoul fried chicken ($19); both meaty dishes filled with flavours. The tailgaters have nothing in common with the steak of the swamps, rather is sliced beef and aged cheddar, rolled up and wrapped in bacon. They’re salty and tender, not as heavy as I expected. Although the kimchi became lost, there was a light chili garlic sauce on the green beans, which helped to cut through the grease.

A pile of cabbage kimchi sat beside the Seoul fried chicken. If it’s too spicy, the sweet red sauce covering the dish helps calm the sting. The bone-in pieces of chicken were juicy and the breading substantial enough to withstand the thick glaze so it retained its crispiness.

Soft creamy queso fresco made its way inside the flautas ($9), combined with white cheddar cheese for the stringiness. The tortillas cylinders were crispy to contrast against the molten

Lisa Marie is the Fidel Gastro restaurant located on Queen St. W. I was pumped that they took reservations for brunch, which is not the norm for many downtown brunch spots. There were many high tables and a few bench tables that were convenient for family with kids. The bar and paintings of the wall made for a hip atmosphere.

Wow! The food here is fantastic! An abundance of flavours! Do you like spice? Kick your veggies up a notch and try the Maple Hot Cauliflower. Looking for some comfort food? Try this twist: Thai Green Curry Mac & Cheese. But I know you carnivores out there are wondering how this place stacks up....if you go on a Saturday, get the special: the Smoke Board! Mmmmmmeat! The sauce on the ribs is the best BBQ sauce I've ever had, and the brisket was so tender. I wish I had room for dessert! Next time, for sure!
(My only criticism: the stools are not that comfy and I'm not a fan of communal table dining)

Came here for brunch with the girls and it was delicious! They take brunch and elevate to another level. We had all ordered different items so we could try more than one dish and they were all really good. I ordered the bacon Benedict myself and the bacon that it comes with kind of looks like peameal bacon but is more like a thin sausage patty.

The place gets packed though so be sure to make a reservation so that you're not waiting in line for a very long time.

This place intrigued me when I first saw it a few months ago and I finally decided to try it out after getting a reservation (as I learned they filled up really quickly). It had a creative and hipster vibe to it and all the staff was willing to be helpful and advise us.

I got the double pancake pork burger with pad Thai fries. That burger is messy but it is really good, especially with the maple syrup they have on it. The best way I can describe how it tastes is like a homemade Big Mac but with pancake buns. Hands down the most creative burger I've seen and it was great.

Warning: if you get the pad Thai fries, they are spicy. It's a new take on fries I haven't seen before and they were every part as good as the burger. That is rare to see in a restaurant environment.

I would recommend this place.

Lisa Marie is a restaurant/bar and my friend was meeting her friend here so she brought me along too! We didn’t have a reservation so there was a bit of a wait. Almost all their tables are high counters with bar stools. After almost an hour we got a table!. Everything on the brunch menu sounded delicious from the Double Pancake Pork Burger to the Fried Cornish Hen and Cornbread Waffles.

Lisa Marie is this small restaurant/bar on Queen St and Bathurst. The menu is rather eclectic as it doesn't appear to have any central theme? But the food does taste good at least. There is a bit of Asian flair but there was barbecue menu items as well?

Our servers recommended we shared a bunch of plates and we did. A group of 5 ordered Seoul Fried Chicken, Double Pork Dumplings, Tuna Ceviche Nachos, and their special of the night, which was a Smoked Meat Smorgasbord. The Smoked Meat Smorgasbord consisted of Turkey Leg and Drumstick, Beef Brisket, Half Slab of Ribs, Sausage, and bread. I would go into detail about each meat, but I couldn't quite hear our server nor could I discern a big ingredient in each meat. The brisket and the ribs were actually incredible. They had a great smokey flavor and were pretty sweet and tender. The sausage was dry and weren't very good, but the turkey wing and drumstick (HUGE) were meaty and the bbq glaze they use was great.

The Tuna Ceviche Nachos were OK. The tuna and avocados were concentrated on the very center, so most of the chips had nothing on it, even though they were good and salted on their own. The double pork dumplings looked just like perogies as it was also topped with onions, bacon, and sour cream. Despite it looking like perogies, it tasted just like any Chinese dumpling you can get in Chinatown. Pretty odd.

The Seoul Fried Chicken was my favorite dish. It is half a fried chicken cooked with Korean spicy sauce and served with glass noodles and kimchi. The fried chicken wasn't very crisp, but that's obviously because of it being doused in this thick red sauce. The meat was piping hot and tender inside. The sauce wasn't very spicy but damn, it tasted good.

I like the place as its small and the servers were friendly. The food was pretty good, though some of the items were a tad mediocre. I hear they are famous for their pad thai fries, which I never got to try. May have to come back for that...

The menu here is very trendy and interesting, everything has a bit of a twist on it. I went for brunch and had their bacon benedict explosion. It was good. My friend had the double pancake pork burger and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and it had a great trendy, positive ambiance. We went right when it opened and there was a huge line already and you can make reservations - that's the first sign that you know its a great place! I would highly recommend this place.

The food here is excellent. The service was pleasant and efficient. Our group enjoyed the delicious meat platter and felt very satisfied with the portion. As it was our first visit, our server provided us with a complimentary plate of Pad Thai Fries. Told us it was a "must-do." They were right! I have since tracked down the food truck (Fidel Gastro's) for a repeat of that dish. Thanks to Matt (owner) for coming out and chatting food. See you guys again!

As a first impression of Lisa Marie, I'm definitely glad we tried it out and I'm definitely interested in trying out their brunch menu. I'm very certain that the girls and I will be returning for brunch especially when reservations (and on OpenTable!) are allowed for brunch (super rare in Toronto). The food and drink selection is diverse and creative. The environment is fun, cool, and laid back. The service was friendly and impeccable. According to George, they also have bingo night on Tuesdays and occasionally a live band playing. Just as a warning, washrooms are interesting - and definitely is a love it or hate it scenario with all the crazy graffiti, damp floors, and steep stairs.

This place get crowded very fast so either come early for pre-drink or after for late night snacks and drinks ;). The only complaint I have at Lisa Marie is the seating. The stools aren’t comfortable and there is no space to store your bags (hooks under the table would be nice!). They do have a coat rack at the back though, so you can store your jacket there, although I wouldn’t suggest putting your bags there for obvious reasons :). In addition, the restaurant is really dark so it can be quite difficult to read the menu (please turn the lights on!) and I had to enhance my pictures so you can see the food/interior of the restaurant.

SO CREATIVE AND DELICIOUS. I absolutely love this place. Went here for Brunch and the menu was amazing, so many cool creative choices. My sister can't eat eggs so we chose the only things without- the double pork pancake burger with Pad Thai fries- holy crap. delicious. amazing. I want more. omg. heaven. the syrup added a nice sweetness to the burger, the fries were SOOO good what a good idea. I also didn't feel the burger was very heavy and I'm a pretty small girl who is used to eating VERY healthy.
Also got the special, the Elvis French toast- French toast, peanut butter, bananas and bacon. This was SO good too I can't believe the creativity behind these dishes. It adds so much more to brunch and the usual boring items. The price was $15 a dish which I think is totally worth it for good quality food I don't know how ppl found this expensive for a brunch :S some comments really irritate me when I had such a good experience

Just had dinner here for the first time tonight...was really excited to finally try Lisa Marie!!

Ambiance - simple. Shared high tops with stools, which I like. Black and white walls. Nice sized bar. Good lighting.
I dug it. Nothing crazy but enough. 3/5 pearls

Service - quick greeting with a smile. Sat straight away at preferred table without reso on a Wednesday night. Servers friendliness made us feel welcome. Gave us run down on what's sold out, what's special, etc before we made any decisions- good job. Quick with order, delivery and cheque.

Drinks - it was half price bottle wine night but we opted for the 1 litre mason jar of sangria for 2 people. When we asked what was in it we were told 6 ounce wine, 3 ounce triple sec, 2 ounce sailor jerry, juice and soda as well as berries and fruit that had been sitting in wine. What we got I believe had the wine juice and soda with maybe combined 3 ounces of both triple sec and sailor Jerry. No berries. A few pieces of lime and orange. Tasted nice but I was really looking forward to berries.

Food - what we ordered: scallop, cervice, Korean burger, cauliflower, Elvis dessert.

Thoughts:
Cervice - we got total less than 1 tablespoon of fish in a 125ml jar. Rest of it was avocado, corn, cilantro, shallots or onion. Tasted awesome but very little fish which we were surprised by. Menu should read avocado salsa with cervice garnish.

Korean burger - a deep fried bao bun with a Smokey piece of beef. Flavour was there again but very small.

Scallop - charred exterior on a crispy tostada with a carrot and mango shredded salad garnish. Flavour, again, was there. It was just 1 scallop though. Keep that in mind!

Cauliflower - best thing ever. Literally felt like a half a head smothered in awesome sauce topped with pumpkin seeds served on a wooden board with lemon wedges. Perfection.

Elvis dessert - French toast slice, banada cream, peanut butter sauce and a piece of candied bacon. All in all it delivered thoughts of Elvis and was definitely unique.

Total bill with tip came to 85. Which we were happy to pay. Would we return? Not for a while. Nothing was imprinted in my mind the way some dishes have in the past...

But I would try their food truck Fidel Gastros if I see it.

These chefs know what tastes good and I am all about that.

Overall for value 3.5/5 pearls

Went last summer after it first opened and really liked it, so went back last night. Food was still great, good service, cool vibe. The only thing is it seems overpriced. $12 for one beef rib? It's big & tasty, but that price should get you 2 ribs. And $7 for a tosada that's really too small to split? The food is good, but if the prices stay this inflated I might not be back.

Great food + service. My friend and I visited here on a Friday night around 6 and (thankfully) before the rush. The food was amazing! We shared six dishes, my favourite being the tuna rolls and the pork belly cheese thang (I may or may not have gotten that name right). Although the food and service was excellent, I am not a fan of the dining room style - by the time we got our last two dishes we were yelling at each other across the table and sharing the same table with two other couples. I think the concept may work for many people, but its difficult to have an intimate conversation when its busy.

Named after Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie the Toronto restaurant is owned by the same people behind the Fidel Gastro food truck. The decor includes an Elvis print. We were delighted by the experimental sounding menu. There’s always some sort of weird sounding twist almost as if you were playing the game “which one of these doesn’t belong”. For example we started with the Pork Belly Chow Mein Pizza ($10 pictured above). The combination of crispy pork belly, king oyster mushrooms, chow mein, sweet and sour sauce on top of a deep fried pizza dough was playful but it actually worked surprisingly well together. Nash I chose to share the Mac and Cheese , one of the day’s specials ($22). This was no regular Mac and Cheese. Inside the cheese itself was pulled pork and it was also topped with fresh Pico de Gallo (cilantro, tomato, avocado, green onions etc). There were probably a bunch of other ingredients I missed but the waitress did a great job of naming everything and making our jaw d

Elvis Presley is one of my favourite crooners of all time.  Maybe it’s his hip swaying, or simply the glimmer in his eye – whatever it is I love this king (of rock). The first time I encountered Fidel Gastro ‘s was at a Toronto Underground Market (TUM) event and it was their bust of Elvis that drew me to the table, but their energy and enthusiasm that made me want to sample their food.  This TUM-success, founded by Matt Basile , has gone from pop-up vendor, to food truck owner.  And now the cuisine of Fidel Gastro’s has a permanent home with the opening of Lisa Marie , where he’s still serving up his signature Sgt. Slather sandwich, alongside new menu offerings. The dinner menu consists of cicchetti which, as the scroll of text above the bar describes as “Kind of like tapas… but not really.”  They more recently started serving lunch, and on a leisurely afternoon I decided to check them out. Their lunch menu consists (as at the time of this blog post) solely of sandwiches.  On this part

Food is community. When we think about making a meal, it’s generally to share with others and something I am always happy to hear from the parents of my Petits Chefs is that the boys want to cook with their parents at home – that sharing component is so important when it comes to food and cooking. And when it comes to my work with the boys, I am continually blown away by the generosity of the Toronto food community – so many wonderful talented chefs and food enthusiasts wanting to share their knowledge with the boys.  Now, it’s not just me reaching out to people asking them if they would be willing to spend an hour with the boys one Monday, people are approaching me asking if they might work with the boys. Case in point, late last year, Kyla Zanardi , partner of Matt Basile (aka Fidel Gastro and also Rebel without a Kitchen ) spotted some of the boys’ kitchen adventures on my Instagram feed and asked if the boys would like to visit Lisa Marie (their bricks and mortar restaurant, as opp

This place is great! From the Elvis Decor, which is very tastefully done, to the yummy food, to the unique cocktails. We went here for brunch with a friend who raves about this place and she was right. i had the eggs bennie and she had the omelette. The bennies were perfect and nice and runny. I just had a coffee to start, and it was fresh and bold and kept on getting filled up by our lovely waitress. After Brunch we had some cocktails. I tried the Lemon Hopper which is fresh squeezed lemonaide with lager. Very good! I would definitely go back here!

Located in the heart of Toronto's fashion district on Queen West lives Lisa Marie, a restaurant, snack bar, event space or in my case, a delightful brunch spot. Created by Matt Basile, known for his popular food truck, Fidel Gastro, this quaint & welcoming eatery offers innovative and delicious menu that is sure to impress. Recently, I made my first visit for their Sunday brunch service.

Lisa Marie's brunch service offers a total of 8 entrees for diners to enjoy. I usually love shorter menus like this because I have a hard time deciding. However, everything on their menu sounded appealing, I wanted to order them all! I knew that Lisa Marie was not a traditional bacon & eggs brunch spot, but dishes such as 'The Peameal, Eh" and "Bacon Explosion Benedict" definitely got my attention. I was immediately intrigued.

After we placed our order (you'll see what we got shortly), we waited patiently for our food, sipping on our Fresita cocktail and a glass of orange juice.

Frescita Cocktail ($10.00) & OJ

Double Pancake Pork Burgers ($14.00)
Two pork burger patties on pancake buns with lettuce, cheese & tomatoes served with maple syrup and pad Thai fries

Fried Cornish Hen & Corn Bread Waffles ($17.00)
Fried hen served on a jalapeno corn bread waffles with maple syrup & hot sauce served with pad Thai fries

I heard Lisa Marie served delicious brunch menu items and I am so glad I went. You definitely don't get the typical eggs, toast & bacon here but expect to see a much more refined yet totally brunch-appropriate dishes! With all entrees, you get an option for buttermilk fries or pad Thai fries. If you don't mind a bit of spice, go for the pad Thai fries - they are amazing! What a cool new take on traditional fries & potato wedges served at brunch.

I can't wait to go back to try the rest of their brunch offerings.

Despite the seemingly ridiculous sounding combination, this Mac & Cheese was delightful. Every spoonful was like a new adventure. It was also a generous portion that there was enough left over for the next day’s lunch.

Another thing that can’t be ignored is their fabulously witty drink menu. Nash had The Lazy Sunday comprised of Hendricks gin, sunflower sprout lemonade and Jack Rudy Small Batch tonic. It had enough alcohol that if you had too many, you’d probably need to take an actual lazy Sunday. I had the Testa Dura (means “stubborn” in Italian). In it was Tromba tequila, Asperol, fresh lime and limonata. It was tart and refreshing at the same time. All the drinks will definitely give you your moneys worth in alcohol.

Their play of Elvis in a Jar ($6) consisted of maple/rum fried french toast, bacon, peanut butter marscapone, flambéed bananas topped with a big piece of crispy bacon. In a nutshell it was heaven and even though we were so stuffed from the rest of the meal this jar was definitely licked clean.

We were happy with the entire experience from the creative food to the friendly waitress who was very knowledgeable on all the dishes. At the end our bill came in a random cassette!

It’s been a little over two and a half months since Matt Basile, the Rebel Without a Kitchen star and man behind the Fidel Gastro’s empire, seized the old Prague deli with promise of a full operation restaurant. And while it’s not quite open to the public yet (y’all will have to wait until Friday), I got invited to attend the soft opening for media on Sunday April 14th. Unbelievably, this all went down the same week Matt made his Travel & Escape television debut and likely was slammed with crazy media tour obligations.  Heck, I have anxiety just imagining Matt’s recent schedule, but honestly, knowing the guy, it probably just felt like business as usual.  Sure, we all know the food industry is a toughie, and that 9 to 5 hours don’t exist. But Matt to me epitomizes the lesson we’ve all been taught before- if you work hard- and I mean, really hard in today’s economy- the rewards will be great. And having gone from the security of that 9 to 5 world to a Toronto food celebrity in literally just a few short years, you can bet the kid works hard.   But even a hard working man like Matt can use a little support, and he’s got a heck of it from his personal and now professional partner, Kyla Zanardi.   A superstar in her own right, Kyla somehow is managing to juggle her own endeavour, the Insight Project, her freelance food photography business and now, her investment in the soon-to-be Queen W hot spot, Lisa Marie.
Well, like Matt’s food truck, Priscilla, the restaurant continues with his previously established King of Rock theme and it doesn’t just stop at the name.  The East wall touts a massive black and white Elvis mural, just a few feet away from the matching bust behind the bar. There are high top communal tables along the wall, and a few regular four-tops near the front- the soon-to-be star-seats as soon as Mother Nature permits the team to leave the massive front window open.
But the action isn’t all at the people-watching window. Past the bar, and before the kitchen is LM’s in-house pantry, deli and fridge of prepared foods- a must-do shopping experience for bringing a little Olé! home.  Here you can pick up some of FG’s signature sauces (y’all know you want to make a Sgn. Slather at home!), hearty soups, marinated and ready to cook meats, condiments, and pretty much any kind of pickle you can dream up.  Seriously, if you or anyone you know is pregnant- Lisa Marie is your one-stop-shopping destination.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We still got to get through dinner before it’s time for shopping. And dinner always starts with drinks. Developed with Chris Searl, and a few spirit representatives, Lisa Marie will offer 10 cocktails (off the affectionately titled “Drinkies” menu) as well as local artisan beers and VQA wine.  Over the course of the night, my friend, Mitchell Stern (Lisa Marie’s weekend bartender) let us sample a few of the LM staff favourites.

Aperol Spritz (1.5 oz Aperol, Prosecco, Sparkling Water, Orange, Olive, $11)
Malocchio Sour (1.5 oz Sailor Jerry, Egg Whites, Limonata, $12)
Testa Dura (1.5 oz Tromba, ¾ oz Aperol, 60/40 Agave Water, Lime, $11)

And while you could certainly grab a seat at Lisa Marie’s bar and concentrate your efforts on liquor, you’d be missing out on some tasty treats. Like the pop-up style sandwiches that made Matt famous, Lisa Marie still entertains the idea of street food but takes it to a new level of culinary sophistication. Out are Fidel Gastro’s playful Cuban sandwiches, and in are the sexy Venetian small plates called cicchetti.  A homage to Matt’s Italian heritage, the wall above the bar describes cicchetti as “kind of like tapas.. but not.”

Working alongside Chef Kris Topping (Fabbrica), Matt developed a seductive and ridiculously indulgent menu of 12 cicchetti, 2 share plates and 2 desserts. This is one of those menus where you wish you hadn’t eaten for five days prior so you’d have room for double portions of everything. Honestly, it seems like every time I eat something Matt has conceptualized, I think that his palate must be very similar to mine. Considering there are five deep-fried items on offer, maybe that statement seems a little radical coming from a dietitian.  But who are we kidding- dietitians like fried foods just as much as the next person. It just takes a really cool dietitian to admit it (right?!) Well, over the course of the evening, we were presented with almost all of the debuting dishes. Here’s a little food porn overview of the goods.

Deep Fried Pizza: Fried Pizza Dough, Smoked Duck with Duck Skin Chicharron, Hoisin Sauce & Enoki Asparagus Slaw ($7)

Deep Fried Pizza: Fried Pizza Dough, Saucy Meatball with Lemon Arugula & Tomato Braised White Beans ($6)

Mozzarella & Marrow Sangweech: Buffalo Mozzarella, Roasted Bone Marrow on Two Slices of Focaccia, Deep Fried and Topped with Lemon ($6)

As the plates emerged from the kitchen, they were immediately descended upon by the hoards of media personnel.  First, to photograph, of course, and then to eat. Everything I tasted (and I tasted everything) was unreasonably delicious.  Admittedly, it may or may not have been more like immediate inhalation than a tasting, but the staff at LM seemed intent on seeing we all got our LM fix.  Actually, I recognized a lot of the service staff as some of the passionate TUM committee members I worked with when I co-hosted Sips & Nibbles.  And the TUM connection certainly makes sense. Not just because I know Matt had been heavily involved in their initiative from the start (and was very grateful for those early opportunities), but also because of the weekly LM-pop-up collaboration at the restaurant. Hopefully starting in the next few weeks, every Tuesday, starter pop-ups (much like pre-truck Fidel Gastros when he got his start at TUM) will have a chance to take over Matt’s kitchen and host pop-up meals. What a generous way to nurture our hungry food community to help it continue to prosper and grow!

To me, LM is a real encouraging symbol of our food culture’s growth.  I am so proud to participate in a food community that nurtures and nourishes the dreams of young passionate food entrepreneurs like Matt. And I’m so proud to know so many dedicated people with big goals and massive drive.  It may have been the Tromba tequila, but I left LM buzzing with excitement.  The food, drinks, décor, service and of course, Matt’s signature “Olés” made for an unapologetic, self-indulgent fun evening out.

Lisa Marie opens Friday April 19th for dinner service 6 days a week (closed Mondays).  He is also hoping to begin lunch and brunch service in the next few weeks after everything gets nicely settled.  While most of the tables are open for walk-ins, LM will apparently set a few aside for reservations (yay!).

Contemporary cuisine to please all different foodie's tastes, from poutine's lovers to spicy food aficionados. Great shareable plates.

It's a great venue for drinks too, a bit pricy, but cool decor and lively music.

Had brunch with a friend here. The service was great and our server was cracking jokes with us. The food was great and the drinks were even better. I would certainly return. This place is patio-less, but in the summer their huge front windows open up, so you can enjoy a good people watch. The only downside is that it's so loud! Even in the day time.

Close to 3 months ago a new trendy restaurant, with an homage to Elvis, opened its doors to Toronto crowds. Lisa Marie, an inspiration by the creator and owner of the famous Fidel Gastro’s food truck, was born. Quickly becoming one of the most popular food spots on Queen West, Lisa Marie has hit high marks in my books and stolen my heart away. Here’s how..With a tapas-inspired menu, Lisa is all about the food, the flavours and the mixing and matching of unique ingredients that make up the 15 for so food items on the menu. Like the Eggplant in a Jar, a funky mixture of thai chilies, zucchini chips, brined eggplant and tallegio cheese. All mixed and baked in a small jar, enough to give two people 4 good spoons of a taste.Next to it, a crazy big Turkey Wing that has been marinated in a hoisin chili sauce, sprinkled with sesame seeds and topped with green onion. A sweet piece of meat that is rather tender and juicy. Making things even more interesting, I find myself inquiring about the Short Rib Polenta Patty. More like a Spanish montadito, the meat is braised in beer and served atop a smoked tomato and parmesan charred polenta cake. The polenta is not crumbly or dry, rather it’s moist with a smooth texture. On its complete opposite end, there is a Deep Fried Pizza, which just blows my mind away. As base, a fried pizza dough; on top, smoke duck with duck skin chicharron (rind), hoisin sauce and an asparagus slaw. That perfect sweetness from the hoisin is nicely balanced with the greasy and salty taste of the duck.

Some of you may know my love of food trucks. No longer just a vehicle (ha-ha) for convenience, food trucks have become havens for gourmet food in Toronto. The scene is absolutely flourishing. That’s why I was excited to hear about Lisa Marie, a restaurant created by team behind the Fidel Gastro food truck.

Lindsay joined me on this fun brunch just west of Bathurst on Queen St. It was still a little too cold to have the windows open but we didn’t mine, we had the King keeping us company!

We ordered some coffee and waited for our meals to arrive, it took a little longer than I would have liked.
Behold the Double Pancake Pork Burger. It was as delicious as it looks! And to go with the burger I ordered a side of pad thai fries. Um about those fries…

I could eat them all day long! They were very very good! Linds got the Eggy Sausage and Biscuit smothered in gravy:

Overall a fantastic meal for two hungry gals and a dino. Can’t wait to dine here again soon for brunch or late night!
