Be prepared for a line up when visiting this gem of a place! We arrived at 11am and had a 20min wait. When we collected our food, the line wrapped around the store and was probably about 45min. But it's so worth it!!! The pizza is simple but delicious. I think the toppings could be more generous (I don't think have more than 12 PCs of mushrooms in mu mushroom pizza) but the sauce, crust and flavour was delicious. I would order it again. The chicken cutlets sandwich was good too but the peppers and onions are sliced really large. The donuts and coffee here are outstanding. Donuts have the lightest freshest texture....I definitely need more than 1. My favorite was the chocolate dipped because it's not overly sweet and the quality of the chocolate is really good. As is their coffee beverages. This place has such a cult following...but I can totally understand why. Can't wait to come back to try the gelato and more desserts.
Although it's far outside the usual neighbourhoods for trendy Torontonians, Lamanna's Bakery at the far east end of Scarborough is the place to go for not just pastries and cakes, but all manner of Italian fare including espresso, lasagna, sandwiches, and giant pizza slices! All sorts of creative options abound at this hidden gem. Even if you're not in the mood for hot food, their homemade gelato is definitely worth a try as well and for the sweet tooth, you cannot go wrong with the sfogliatelle (lobster tail pastry).
According to the U.S. Economist, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada is the “best ethnic food suburb”. The author of that article must have visited a different part of Scarborough because there’s not that much in my area. There are, however, a few hidden gems. One of them is Lamanna’s Bakery. The bakery is a 7 minute drive from my parents’ house and is a local Italian bakery offering sweets and coffees, as well as pizzas and pastas.
Absolutely love this place. It has all you need for a great Italian style lunch. Good espresso, delicious "home made" food, tempting desserts... And on top of this, the prices are very reasonable.
Definitely, recommend to check it out.
Such good food! I love this place, the desserts are delicious, the menu items are authentic and flavorful. It is always packed in here, and a bit disorganized, but the workers are friendly and the food is sooooo worth it. My favorites are the lobster tail pastry and the veal on a bun.
Such a great ennvironment and great service. Staff is friendly and ways smiling and food is always fresh and delicious. My two favourites are the veal parm and my fiance loves the meat lasagna. I also really love the pizza just enough dough and enough toppings. The deserts are to die for.. not too much sugar and always tastes very fresh every time I come it's clear they make their food every morning for the day.
I freaking love this place! Where else can you get good food, good desserts, good coffee and good people? Here of course!
There's a reason why people flock to this place, it's because the people here cook and bake with love so it shows.

This place is one of my favourite. Everything is so good , and I love going there alone or sometimes with my friends. People are so nice and the service is good, the prices are not bad. I highly recommend it .

A lot of variety, very casual setting. You can order everything from, pizza, pasta, veal cutlet, gelato, espresso, dessert. Had the veal cutlet, chicken cutlet, hazelnut pistachio.

Great little spot on the edge of Scarborough/Pickering. A true Italian bakery with the best treats, cakes, coffees and even a hot plate bar. Can easily drink the lattes here all day. The catering here is well worth the trip too. Love the ambiance of the place, one of a kind in this area. Staff here are super friendly. Make sure to look around as the lines for the different foods are around the place so can get chaotic sometimes when the place is full. Would easily recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
I visited this place for the first time and I was in awe. Authentic Italian! The prochutto is very good, not as salty as the ones sold in the supermarkets. The pizza was phenomenal, the veal in the bun was very delicious. And the varieties of desserts were unbelievable delicious. Price is very reasonable, will be back (beware long line up)!l

Be prepared. This place is chaotic.
Let me start by saying that the food here is wonderful (the pizzas, veal sandwiches and pasta are delicious). The cafe drinks are amazing. And the gelato is incredible. (Try the pistachio and the Bacio gelato. It's better than the gelato I had in Italy.) Best of all, the prices are extremely fair. The atmosphere is lively, like a market and the staff is generally friendly and helpful.
However, the set-up is frustrating. I have never been to this bakery and not had an issue with the service. There are several counters: one for pizza, one for hot foods, one for baked goods, one for coffee and one for gelato. This can be confusing. Don't line up and order at each one. You can order all of your items from ONE counter and then take your receipt to the others to pick up your orders.
BUT even doing this, you're not guaranteed a smooth process. I've languished at the pizza counter with no one to serve me while three young servers stood behind the bakery counter chit-chatting. I've gotten pizza and then stood and waited 20+ minutes for a veal sandwich for my guest. I've stood in line for 15 minutes only to have the two people in front of me buy every last piece of pizza, leaving me with none.
The bakery would better serve its patrons if it had instructions on what to do upon arrival and if the staff distributed itself to where help was needed.

Got very lucky and stumbled upon Lamanna's while looking for a quick lunch. Take out service with a smile. Excellent pizza. Prices are surprisingly low for such high quality.
Nice italian bakery located in a quiet neighbourhood. It serves a variety of baked goods, sandwiches, pizza, and deli. I read about the crowd on other reviews, and so I was not surprised by the line up. However, we did not have to wait too long to be served. For hot foods, we ordered lasagna and veal on a bun with sweet peppers. Both were decent. I would say they are better for their baking goods. Would definetely come back again to try out other items on their menu. Perfect for a nice small weekend outing.

Love this place! You would never know such a cool spot is inside this location (in a strip mall). You can go in and grab a bakery item or coffee or stay for lunch. They have macarons that are awesome and all kinds of other Italian treats. Then they have home style Italian food like pizza, pasta and these amazing rice balls! So good and really cool vibe!
Freshly made sandwiches are a must! Always busy so you have to wait a bit but it's so worth it. The strawberry shortcakes are great! Will definitely be back.
I'll start with the ugly. The layout for service is confusing and it's very busy. It would be so helpful if they had a greeter to explain it to you. Now that we have it figured out (sort of) We look forward to going back. We tried two different slices of their pizza - delicious. Paired with a couple different coffees - yum. We shared a medium gelato (you get 2 flavours in a small or med, 3 in a large) the two of us easily could have shared a small. Don't be deceived by the small cup!! And we got canollis and olives to go. Everything was amazing and I can't wait to try the giant slices of lasagna they were serving out left and right!
Friendly staff. Nice ladies working there. They were busy but we weren't rushed or ignored. Food was good but not the best I had. Will go back for a quick snack if I'm in the neighborhood.
A Pastry Paradise. The best bakery / cafe I've come across. An amazing selection of pastries, breads, cakes, coffee and a terrific hot counter selection - the Lasagna is amazing, tasty, flavourful and the portion is huge - it could easily feed 2 people (about 6.50$ for a portion). They have oven baked pizzas with many topping options! Delicious!! Everything is fresh. They are always coming up with new ideas and products. The line up in a weekend can be pretty long, so pack your patience .... But it's so worth the visit!
The food is awesome but what really makes this place special is its vibe. Do not miss this!

The place is now called L Bakery and Fine Foods. This well may become my favorite bakery in town! A steady stream of people through the noon hour speaks for itself. Beautiful pastries, not overly sweet, good size, great selection with eclairs, lobster tails, napoleons and canolis. Fantastic prices: most single desserts are $1.99. Looking forward to their expansion soon to offer more seating space.
I love this place. It is a not so guilty pleasure of mine. It's good home cooked food. I would say it's been one of the best things to happen in our neighborhood. Their coffee is awesome. You don't even need sugar that's how tasty it is.

Great bake shop!. Love the veal and chicken sandwiches, the best!, I've tried most of all the cakes for different occasions, always fresh. Very good tasting cakes, fresh cream, flavors right and their presentation is excellent. When I walk in I feel at home, I'm greeted by smiling faces, beautiful cafe like atmosphere with pleasant Italian music in the air! You can sit down if you wish or take it to go. This is a very clean establishment from the minute you step foot in the door. You can see how many people love their bakery by the people in and out of the shop on a Saturday morning!

RED Velevt Cupcakes!. I just tried one of their Red Velvet Cupcakes. Best cupcake I've tasted in my life. Although they dont make it all the time. If you're lucky and they have it when you're there BUY it. Their vanilla on vanilla is also really yummy!
Tiramisu=love. You've got to try their tiramisu, but go early in the day because they do sell out!
This Place is a GEM!. Just celebrated my Grandfather's 90th Birthday and we catered the event from LaManna's. I originally went in to only get a cake, which was superb so thank you very much Mrs. Lamanna. But once I tasted their veal on a bun I knew I also had to have the party catered there as well. I still get compliments a week later on how amazing everything was. Thanks Lamanna boys and parents, for making my Grandfather's 90th a trip back to the old country. P.S. how do you get the canoli's so crispy alllll the time? :)
BEST BAKERY in the East end. Or in the GTA for that matter. Love Love Love Love this place!!!! I don't even know where to begin because there are so many things I enjoy: Veal, Lasagna, Chicken, pasta, riceballs (YUMMY!!!) Love the cakes, pastries and coffee. I love their strawberry shortcake. The lamanna boys are real gentlemen and their parents are wonderful as well as the staff there.

Modern spin on a classic Italian bakery. Great service (although there is often a crowd, so be prepared to wait a bit) Excellent in-house made meals to go as well as pizza.
Pastries are the star of the show with many tempting cakes and cookies. Espresso drinks are made to order and the crowd that comes in consists of locals as well as those who have come from all over to sample the goodness.
Fabulous cannolis, they were expanding when I was there so I cant wait to go back and see how the new place looks but the parking is always busy and the place is packed with regulars.
I love this place! Amazingly giant chocolate chip cookies, fresh pizza and a gelato counter. They have recently renovated to make a larger bakery with a hot food counter, deli and more. Cute place for a coffee date!

We were just driving past and were surprised to see this cafe. This Place is fantastic. Such warm lovely service. Such a nice family and great food not to be missed tucked away on Kingston Rd. The coffee was also good. All in all this among the best cafe's I've ever eaten in.
