I recently had one of the best dining experiences of my life at Pulcinella Toronto, located on Lake Shore Blvd., just east of Brown's Line.
The decor was beautiful, the atmosphere was amazing, the service was top notch, and the food was delicious. Music was provided by a dude with an acoustic guitar, singing softly in Italian.
We ordered a 20 oz rib eye steak (it was the special) and butternut squash ravioli with pancetta and maple syrup sauce. The ravioli and mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had. The steak was incredible. Everything was meticulously plated. Even the little pieces of ravioli were arranged perfectly.
The chef came out ask how we liked the food, which was a nice touch.
The drinks were also great, as was the dessert.
About the place... They now occupy two storefronts. One side is the main dining room. The other is a new, upscale bar. There is another dining area downstairs for private functions. It has it's own bar. There is also a patio.
I can't recommend it enough.
The only downside is I forgot the leftover steak that we had wrapped up for our dog. Next time...
Awesome food. The atmosphere is fantastic with the soft guitar strumming and Italian singing. Service was excellent, highly recommend for everyone.
Thanks for hosting our Christmas Party on Dec 8th. Food was amazing, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was top notch!! Highly recommend this ristorante for authentic Italian Cuisine.
Amazing amazing amazing! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff was excellent and the atmosphere was memorable. Thank you Mario for treating us like royalty
Awesomeness at its best !!! Fantastic !! The service is always top notch ! Love this restaurant!
Excellent food and staff.
Being going here for many dinners and occasions.
My son took me for my mothersday dinner here.
I greatly enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere.
Great ambiance, service, and food. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing service! Great food! Nothing more you could ask for...
Great food and service. We just went there 2 in two weeks bc it’s that good. Kids enjoyed it as well. The owners make you feel like you’re part of their family. So much love.
Excellent service and great food. Jazz and blues too
Best restaurant in the area.. Best place around Long Branch and Mimico. Great italian food. Great service and the room is classy. I highly recommend
Summerlicious. Great vibe in this restaurant, excellent quality Italian and reasonably priced. Service was great, a bit of a wait for food but you're not at Boston Pizza.. This area needs more restaurants like Pulcinella.
Working the restaurant buisness is my job. I have done professional reviews for over 170 restaurants in the gta. After having a so so first experience at pulcinella my second visit was truly wonderful. Even though we had a rocky start in regards to our food the manager Salvatore (adored himt see how with a little guidance anyone could not be marveled at such a wonderful place. Thank you again Salvatore, ciao;)
Nice Dining Experience for a Date. I took my girlfriend to Pulcinella based on a recommendation from a neighbour. I believe the owner was playing the guitar and singing in Italian in the background while the patrons enjoyed their dinner.
Overall we had a good time and what we ordered was good. We'd go back for another dinner date.
Gem. Pulcinella never disappoints. We have been there a dozen times and the food and service are always excellent. Romantic, yet homey. Absolutely love the entertainment. The guitar player always brings us a smile when he serenades our table.
Great Date Spot. From the moment we walked in the service was great. They were friendly and prompt. We were suggested a great white wine and the meal was excellent. The ambiance was amazing, they even had a guitar player stroll through the restaurant which I thought was great atmosphere for a date. The decorum is fancy but you dont feel out of place in any attire, it has a warm, homey feel to it. Highly suggest it for any couples first date.
Great Food .... We've been to Pulcinella several times and have always tried their specials; never disappointed.
Great service and ambience!
On this last occasion we over indulged; the only eye opener was the price of the gamed meat (ostrich) - if we knew upfront, we may have passed.
1 litre Picinni Chianti 2008
Radicchio and Belgian Endive Insalata ( shared )
Duck Gnocchi ( shared )
Veal Chop
Carne di Selvaggina - Ostrich (a little pricy $50.)
Cappuccino / Espresso
Mario and Fredico - thank you for the warm greeting and service, as always!
Great atmosphere and food to match. Been there twice recently and the food and service were excellent both times. Reminds me of a typical trattoria you'd find in Italy.

Great food, service and decor!. Went to Pulcinella a week ago with a group of friends and loved it. Greeting was prompt and friendly. The waitress greeted our table of 6 with bread and antipasto immediately and assisted my husband with picking out a couple of fantastic wines for the table.
We started off with antipasto for 4 (a great selection of Italian meats and cheese) along with the calamari and the non traditional caprese salad. Appetizers were beautifully presented and tasted even better! My husband and I loved our main courses of the pasta special bolognese and the bison tenderloin. Both were very different dishes, but melted in our mouthes! Our guests loved their selections as well. For dessert, we tried the platter of several different desserts for the table which included mini creme brulees and pannacottas: delectable!
Service was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. You can tell there is a lot of care and detail that goes into this place from the food, service and decor. We can't wait to go back!
Great little spot. Perfect decor with a wide selection of Italian food. Known for game meats.
Fantastic!!!!. Wonderful fine dining atmosphere. Beautiful stone walls, dark wood finishes, live piano music in downstairs dining area. Had dinner with my husband and baby daughter last week for my birthday.
Antipasti on the house with fresh baked bread started the meal.
Had the calamari starter which came as 2 whole calamari stuffed with a zucchini stuffing then lightly battered and lightly fried served with a chutney....sublime.
My husband chose the swordfish which served on a bed of lentils, very hearty meal and the fish was done superbly.
I chose the butternut squash ravioli in a brown butter sauce, once again superb.
We ended with a creme brulee infused with frangelico and vanilla for dessert, wow, creamy, delicious.
Meal with tax and tip came to $90. Service was doting and fabulous with both owners coming to say hello.
Going back again this Friday with friends.
Checking out the possiblities between Kipling and Long Branch on the Lakeshore, I couldn't find much to satisfy my demanding palate.
Luckily, I discovered Pulcinella which was not too far from the 427 and Humber College (Lakeshore campus....the nicer campus :)
I arrived early for dinner and luckily the restaurant was relatively quiet. You can just tell from the decor and the people what you stand to enjoy....and so I did.
I was leaning towards my favorite calamari yet one of the servers mentioned that they had a special on oysters this evening (they usually have oyster and pizza specials on Thursday nights mainly downstairs in a what looks like an intimate mini-sports bar.
I started off with oysters from the Malpeque and Village Bay variety of New Brunswick. I decided not to wait until the holiday season to enjoy oysters. I loved these. You only need lemon juice and fresh black pepper to really enjoy the wonderful taste. Maybe I should have ordered more and leave it at that.
The menu is italian yet it has an interesting and unique variety that makes it different to any italian restaurant that I enjoyed in the past. For example, on the Secondi portion of the menu, you will find Cinghiale, which is a ragu made with farm raised boar meet. In fact one of the specials this evening was boar meat a la Milanese, as a breaded schnitzel with the bone.
For my main course, I chose a risotto a'mare with mussels, small scallops (not the bigger ones which would have been better...and pricier), clams and shrimp. A glass of classic valpolicella did the trick.
For dessert, I really didn't feel like going for the bland creme brulee even if they added frangelico and berries so I settled for mango and strawberry gelato with my espresso to cap it off before rushing to a jazz show.
The serving staff were very international and friendly. Everyone was from a different country. Mario, the owner is from Napoli and his main chef Tizianol is from Rome. The sous-chef each have their own specialty from pizzas, to pasta, to deserts. That shows that we have a group dedicated to their craft.
Pulcinella is thus a hidden gem that I look forward to return to for quality, professional and friendly service. I thanked my Polish server Roman as well as Tiziano in the kitchen for the lovely meal.
