Everything felt like home (the Philippines) in this place. The way the food is grilled and served, the demeanor of the waiters, the overall atmosphere (noise level and crowdedness included). A boodle fight would not feel the same if it was not a bit chaotic in my opinion lol! Grilling was perfect especially with the squid. Tender and chewy. The garlic rice was tops! You may smell like food when you finish the meal especially if you dine inside though. But then, you can always shower it off Not a deal breaker at all!

Been there twice with family,no reservations but was promptly seated and served. The food- fresh, plentiful and tasty, no fancy frills, just a good old Filipino meal. Free refill rice and you can take out whatever was left over. Last Friday I was able to convince my boss to have our staff meeting there. Everyone loved the food and the Kamayan experience. We booked for 9 but two more came. There was no big fuss, the staff were all accommodating, just warm Filipino hospitality all around. The place is always packed, that says a lot about the food. For a foodie, homesick Filipino, this feels like home. Not recommended to snotty five star hotel restaurant kind of customer.

Amazing food and all-around experience. Felt like I was eating for the first time again. In addition, the staff was so truly accommodating. I rode there on a new bike with no lock, and I phoned frantically asking if there's any way I could bring the bicycle inside. Despite the tight space one really awesome lady reserved a table at the patio for the 5 of us right away and made sure everything worked out seamlessly. I can't thank you enough for your excellent service. You made our reunion night perfect and I'll never forget it! Thank you!

This was the best dining experience I’ve had in Toronto, not only because the taste of the food, but also the uniqueness of the way we ate. The staff was very friendly and they all looked happy to serve us. By the way, make sure to try their ube ice cream (ice cream made from purple sweet potato) after your meal!!

We traveled 4 hours from the North with intent to experience this place and we are so glad we did. The food was fantastic, the service was great. This place could expand with ease but don’t give up the quality and authenticity.

It was great cause it’s just like in Philippines. Delicious food and good customer service. My husband would have loved that place since most are grilled seafood. I will definitely come back and take my husband if I have a chance to come back here.

Our first visit was all that we hoped for. We made a reservation for noon on Sunday and were happy we did as it was very busy. We ate tons of food in a casual atmosphere. Service was excellent. We had the $15 per person platter with Tilapia. You consume your food with your hands and pay cash. With two soft drinks we paid $45 including tax and tip. Great value and close to subway.

I visited Toronto a couple of weeks ago and was interested in trying Tinuno. It had come up in my web search and my friends S and J had only good things to say so when M and I were exploring dinner options, it was just a short jaunt and we found ourselves at their doorstep. This place is small with a rough-and-tumble first impression but was also packed on a Tuesday night at 6:30 pm. I spoke to the server in Filipino (which I hope helped) as we did not have a reservation. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes and kept an eye out for the table we were waiting for and were eventually able to snag a table.

Filipino breakfast!!
What a unique experience with a mound of garlic-flecked rice, chunks of boneless meat (available in both pork and beef) simmered in peppery gravy (with whole peppercorns), 2 eggs over easy and sliced tomatoes. Everything is fresh, tasty and all this for a mere 7-8 bucks. Definitely takes the standard 'cooked breakfast' to new heights.
Discovered this little shop (hole-in-the-wall but clean and efficient) on a recent trip to TO and wish them well!

Loved the kamayan feast at this little Filipino restaurant in Cabbagetown. I found the staff to be quite attentive as well.

Overall a really positive experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have been wanting to have a Kamayan Feast with my friends all these time. Thanks for Elvis A 's invitation, I finally have my first experience at Tinuno!

Reservation is essential as this place is really popular. The evening we were there, there were 2 large groups of 20! And walk in would be turned away.

Kamayan means Hand to Mouth and it is a feast for special occasions. I find it fun to eat with my hands and make a mess. You do have an option to wear gloves if you rather not to handle your food with bare hands (no judgement!)

Tinuno's Kamayan Feast consist of solely food prepared from the grill, seems like the menu is simillar: Fish, Stuffed Squid, Pork Belly, Pork Skewers, Shrimps, Mussels, Okra, Egglplants on top of Garlic Rice and with a side Mango Salad.

Mango Salad and Garlic Rice are both available for refill. And I love the tartness of the salad! It just gave me the will power to eat more!

Minimum order for 2 so bring your friends! More the merrier. The food is good as everything is grilled so not too oily aside from the pork belly and love the grilled taste!

Thanks Tinuno for offering the Kamayan experience as such a reasonable price! At $15 it is just an amazing experience! And the best thing is Every Night is a Kamayan Feast and thus every night is special occasion at Tinuno!

Tiny place in St Jamestown serving Filipino food. The place has made a name for itself serving set meals on banana leaf and they are GREAT!

The two of us had the set meal, which came with tons of garlic rice, grilled squid, pork satay, pork belly, fish and more all for $15 each.

The owner is very friendly and we had a great time chatting with him about his successes so far. Definitely recommend you go and try the kamayan feast.

And eat with your hands!
