Review Imperial Pub - Toronto

Had all the things I'd love a pub to have. Great music, jukebox, pool table, tons of books, fabulous sit out on the upper floor, amazing vibes all round. To top it all, the fish and chips is definitely one of the best I've had in the city. Will def be visiting this one more.

Good bar for cheap thrills. Their combo platter is a nice one to share for more than 4 people but a bit too oily. The vibe was great but the drinks seemed a bit watered down. 3 stars for the great service though!

Cheap old pub right at the dundas...its not that clean, has smells of cleaning bleach and old. But if you can ignore all this it's very cozy, spacious and you can spend hours there reading books, playing pools or chitchatting.

This place is lit for drinks and the vibe. Core downtown and parking is just outside the building paid though. Could have been better if they stock up their inventory as the drinks we ordered were out of the stock that is disappointing. Cleaning and the ambience is ok for who does not prefer modern bar setup.

My best friend and I were looking for a patio to relax on and stumbled upon this gem. Diana greeted us with a friendly smile. Her suggestion to try the chicken wings was great! They were huge and crispy. We'd both recommend the Brisket sandwich with fries. It delicious! Great atmosphere! Great food! Great service!

Located in the busiest area, this place is so quite and nice to enjoy beer and unwind . Very nice small patio on top overlooking dundas square . It also has a small pool table to test your skills

PLEASE READ This is a 5 star review because the bar is fn great and it is what it is. It is not fancy. It doesn't have good cocktails. The food is pub fare. The place is weird. Do not assume because of a high rating this is some must see spot in the city as a tourist in this terrible part of town (imo it is but not if you're a certain type). I give this 5 stars for being Toronto as ever. Great cozy spot in the middle of it all. It's perfect and you shouldn't ever want anything more.

Located right next to Yonge Dundas square, a good place to go for a quick drink with friends. Their nachos with guacamole and ranch dip are a must have

Very rude staff. I've been here a few times and it's fine, usually some good beers etc. However they do not treat their customers well.

I went on Saturday after volunteering at an AIDS and HIV Walk. Me and my friends were super tired after being at a community event all day.

We went in and were told that we cannot be served. We said fine, But why. The server was incredibly rude and explained that Ontario law states people can't have had a drink before entering a bar.

We were taken aback by this - as it isn't true - and only applies to customers who are intoxicated or being aggressive etc. While the server holds the right to refuse to serve alcohol, I would advise that this server re-read the law.

Being rude to customers in this way is disgusting. We were made to feel like second class citizens. She kept referring to the Ontario Law and the province's website for us to read the law.

This server was working at around 8:15pm on Saturday, September 14th. She had a strong accent so perhaps didn't know about Safe Serve? I am severely disappointed at the rudeness and bad customer service.

Will not be coming back. Please do not go to this pub.

The venerable Imperial Pub in the downward dog side of Dundas East which I've always skirted around as being a dodgy dive is surprisingly not and felt totally captivated by the fantastic aquarium over the bar while were waiting for the pub fare, uch as the pictured classics - nachos, stout, veg wrap and veg snacks. Fair Dinkum.

The Imperial Pub is located on Dundas St. downtown Toronto. It’s near the Yonge -Dundas Square, which is 5 minutes away from my boyfriend’s company. 2017.11.09. last day of the meeting, my boyfriend, me and his co-workers had a dinner at Imperial Pub. We arrived the Pub around 5:30 pm. Luckily, we got a table upstairs.

The imperial pub is a stalwart bar with a ground-floor pub, upstairs library lounge & roof patio with Dundas Square views. Inside of the Pub design and decorations are very unique. People can read a book and have a coffee there on the couch. Also, they can grab a glass of beers and have a fun with friends sitting on the chairs.

We were very lucky, we found a 6 seats couch to sit. After we all sat down, our server came to the table. She looked a little bit old, but she was super nice and helpful. She told us how to order the food. By listening to her recommendations, we didn’t even take a time to look at the menu. She did a great job to introduce us cheap and delicious food to share. Also, she offered an excellent customer service.

After we ordered the food and drinks, our drinks and food came out very fast. Both drinks and food are all in the super large portions. 6 of us could share the beers and the large starter platters. There are lots of deep-fried vegetables in the platters, such as mushrooms, potatoes, green peppers, and etc. They were all very well cooked and fresh. The tasted of the food were great. The drinks and food were so cheap there as well. In summary, we had a great experience at Imperial Pub Downtown Toronto. Highly recommend.

I usually go here for drink as it is just 2 blocks away from my home!
- Nice place & great location.
- I go here because they have good couch on 1st floor where you can relax and have pitchers & pitchers of that holy liquid.
- "Shauna Nancy" is the bar tender you want your order to be taken by. Trust me ! she is a fun person!
- The patio is good too I wish they had couch in patio too

I've walked past the Imperial Pub many times. I have to admit that I had "judged the book by its cover". Something about the neighbourhood and the outside made it seem a bit divey. Today I decided rogue it a try for lunch. Well, it is a bit of a dive, but it also has some character, and they make a pretty decent burger.

The main room features a fairly large circular bar in the centre, with counter seating for about 25 people. There's a larger aquarium in the middle of the bar, and around the perimeter of the bar (over the bar stools) there are about 25 back-lit pencil sketches of historic Toronto scenes.

I ordered the regular Burger, with cheese, and a salad instead of fries. The side salad was better than many restaurants. Beyond the normal lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers and onions, there were also generous helpings of black olives and shredded cheese. The burger was cooked all the way through, but not overcooked. All in all a pleasant lunch meal.

The place is alright but the burgers are nice. Went their many time for drinks and sometimes stayed for food. The most recent time i went in their..there was self service on the second floor inside, we did not get a chance to check out the rooftop which is apparently newly renovated. So we came back downstairs and sat at the bar. It was very very hot in there..i asked them twice to turn on the air conditioning at first they did not know and the second time the server knew and told me how it is always this hot and the air conditioning could not be spiked. It was one of the very less frequent hot summer days but oh well i have been there before and never thought temperature was an issue. But its nice if you want ti catch a couple of drink!

Great place to socialize and drink!. I just recovered from a pretty good old-fashioned piss-up from the upstairs part of the pub (the Library). I may be suffering from a warm afterglow effect but dam the place is unique... it has an overall charm and character feel to it. It's across the street from the City-TV (formerly Olympic) building, dam close to Ryerson U, a stone's throw away from the Eaton Centre and Dundas Sq., and nestled into a savoury kinda neighbourhood. An eclectic mix with heavy doses of Rye U students (on the night I was there)... kinda reminded me of my old UofT days. If you want a place to sit down and catch up with friends and drink your face off, then this place has much to offer (even if you're not up for a piss-up). The pool table and foosball table just add to the fun (and so does the popcorn)! Just a heads up... I haven't been to the ground floor part of the pub or the patio yet.

After experiencing the new, fresh-made, burger paddies I must say I was not impressed at all. The paddies were not well made. The meat was still raw and the staff did not even bothered to ask us how we want it done. Once we told the staff, we got the cold shoulder with an attitude. The service overall was deplorable. As a regular, in that place, I will not be going back.

Terrible bar. The bartenders literally took our unfinished drinks out of our hands at last call, including the pitcher they had just sold us 10 minutes before.
Brutal customer service, in an already disappointing bar.
