We went here because Paddingtons was so busy at the weekend.
Great breakfast with cheap mimosas and a very helpful server.
Went again for lunch a few days later, superb knowledge by our server for our gluten free friend. The food is very good and there is something for everyone. The produce used was obviously fresh and carefully chosen.
On our last night in Canada we walked around the district after dinner and as it was open went in for a nightcap.
Highly recommend the eatery.
Always a great time and the place to be after a long day at the office ! A hidden gem with great fusion food in the city that doesn't get enough recognition ... been coming here for ages and their food is always 5 stars . Defiantly recommend the Malaysian coconut curry and their squash poutine
The food was superb and the staff very friendly. Would recommend a visit.
This place makes me feel at home. Incredibly staff, always a warm welcome, and Jamison shots! Great place for a drink, any night of the week!!!
Much love
Scotland!!
Best place to grab a drink and have some eats in the day - or go with friends to watch sports or party at night. Charles the owner provides a warm welcoming atmosphere day or night! Been going there for many many years now and I always find my self coming back
Friendly place, good food, excellent service and fantastic beer!
Great food, eclectic and Asian inspired in the menu. Staff were great
Awesome local bar! Had plenty of amazing times here. Food is good. Service is friendly!
Always a great time at Corner Place! Good prices on drinks and great food!
Fantastic staff and great atmosphere. The owner (Charles) goes out of his way to make you feel at home. A true gem in Toronto.

Awesome place. Food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic. Drinks are well priced especially on happy house days. Will recommend to all my friends to check it out when they are in town.
Great food
Friendly welcome and comfortable cosy sitting area. Decorated with bikes on the walls which was funky and gave the place atmosphere. Quite a lively, happening bar and very popular. Good choice of food options. Our meal was most enjoyable and reasonably priced.
I think you need to order carefully here. Menu looks exciting with its Mexican and SE Asian influenced pub food. However some items look deemed for disappointment such as the single tuna ceviche tostada priced like a main.
My order of bun cha supplemented with Korean grilled beef was great. Not entirely authentic. Bun cha dressing was missing funky fish sauce but did contain non traditional elements of sesame oil and soy. Nonetheless similar in spirit to a Vietnamese bun cha despite being toned down a little for an audience more accustomed to Chinese flavours than SE Asian. Noodles were thicker than the traditional thin white rice vermicelli. There was a larger volume of various julienned veg to make the dish more of a salad than a cold noodle dish, but little variety in the herbal notes (basil only). Grilled Korean beef rib was excellent. I would order this again although I have to admit this dish is not very filling. Considered having a dessert but opted for a beer instead.
The Saturday Mimosa and Sangria deal is amazing ($3.50 per mimosa). Very nice sandwiches as well. I had the St. Lawrence Benny during the brunch house and it was simply delicious.
City corner... A great place to gather as Corner Place has that community feel. You see it during the weekdays when there's people of diverse demographics coming in to the spot.
The food is above par. I've been a few times that I can say, Corner Place has worked to improve their menu and it's coming along. Best way of describing the food - bar food with and Asian twist.
The Jerk Chicken sandwich has been the surviving dish from the original menu way back when.. For those who like wings - siracha garlic wings are pretty good.
Longaniza Sausage skewers - SPANISH/PAN ASIAN.. just another crafty way of saying - Filipino.
Weekday drink specials are great from 3 - 7
On Front & Jarvis, summer time, it's all about the patio.
The staff here is great and don't hesitate to engage with patrons. Overall, this place is all about the atmosphere, and the food does a great job complimenting it.
If you're looking for a good place for food near St. Lawrence Market, skip to the final paragraph, Corner Place is the spot.
I hadn't been to Old Town in sometime. The area has turned around in recent years, and peaked my interest to return. In discussions with my colleagues, it has become apparent that a Saturday trip to St. Lawrence Market with a date is an effective (and simple) mid afternoon for the old fashioned romantic-on-a-dime gentleman that I pass myself off as. In baseball, some say 'be patient, wait for your pitch, and when it comes, knock it out'; conventional wisdom and I disagree on this, my thought is this, put the ball on a tee, and get on base early and often. Try a slow speed, aimless walk through St. Lawrence market, avoid the traps, if you're too close to crafts, a disinterested conversation will ensue, they can smell this from a mile away. Focus on the more obscure things in the room, it makes for easier banter. At your halfway point, seed comments that will later be used to shift venues. 'Weather is nice' -> 'patio season' -> 'let's grab a drink on a patio', in a short while, you'll find yourselves out of the market, and back on the streets seeking a new venue.
From there, a quick northeast to Corner Place is a simple move. The patio is relaxed and casual, inside has some atmosphere, read your guest on this one. 4-8 each day has a special, this plays right into my hands. Have a couple drinks, order food, banter with the staff, they all seem friendly from my experiances. With all of this, you still have an ace in the hole: the pool table. Shooting billiards is a classic go-to, anyone who grew up on Saved by the Bell has seen what happens at Bayside when neon clothing and a pool lesson is involved.
The staff are all very peronable, they remember faces after the first visit, and names by the third at latest. Go there a few times, they will treat you even better, and play along with whatever backstory to help your cause.
In terms of good times on a dime, CP is a go to. Good food, good people, great atmosphere, downtown location, and easy on the wallet.
Good times and great value. So I was passing by the market to grab some lunch, then I saw this place, boom it hit me. this was the place we had our office Xmas party! last time I was here I couldn't remember how i got home hehe. so me and my buddies decided to check this place out later in the afternoon. and boom it hit me again!! $3 drinks . this is my new afterwork bar! overall great food, great value, and staff who gets to know you! feels like the tv show "Cheers".
Tacos texmex. Order the tacos there they are not bad and they are served with plenty of sides for you to garnish as you like. Good for a lunch during the week.
Not excited this time.... Pros: Environment, waitress service
Not so con: Asian Chicken Sesame Salad
Cons: Not know their Wi-Fi password
Around 12:00pm after I found that the St Lawrence market does not open on Mondays, I started to find a good place to have lunch on Old Toronto and I discover the The Corner Place. When we arrived, we could sit on any place because the place was not crowded.
The service was friendly and nice and the salad did not take so much time to arrive. But, at least, for me, when I arrive at place where the Wi-Fi is available I like to have access. I tried all the variations provided by the waitress and none worked. On the end, she asked me to look for one of the customers and ask him how they connect. Very bad negative point for me.
Overall, the salad was okay. To be true, I prefer the Asian Chicken Sesame salad from Panera Bread. The dried noodle was very hard to eat and most of the salad components were cut in chunks instead of niece pieces to eat with a fork. What makes a mess while you are eating. Well... I did not get excited with the food this time. But I intend to come back here again next time that I visit Toronto, I notice other dishes on the menu that called my attention.
There is nothing to dislike about The Corner Place on a Summer afternoon. If you sit on the outskirts of their patio you have a gorgeous little view of St. Lawrence Market. We went as a party of five sometime last Summer, so there was a lot that we ordered.
To start I must say their sangria and mimosas are delicious. I think we had just missed their $3.50 mimosa deal which is at 11AM-2PM on Saturday's and Sunday's.
To start, we got Crispy Calamari. The lemon aioli that came with it was a delight!
A friend and I both ordered the CP Cheeseburger which was both massive and satisfying. The red onions, cheddar, mushroom, arugula and Dijon aioli come together to deliver spectacular flavour.
My boyfriend ordered the Malaysian Curry which seemed like an odd choice for such a hot day but it was surprisingly good. Tame flavours, nothing exciting, but it tasted good nonetheless.
I'm quite sure the chicken avocado sandwich was also at the table along with a portion or two of fries to share. The sandwich tasted as expected there was nothing that really jumped out at you about it.
I would definitely recommend this place for brunch, it's a perfect spot! The servers were really cheery and helpful too!
This place is THE BEST!! In summer we were walking and suddenly saw this cute cozy place, went in with any expectations and oh my god!!! Was one of the tastiest lunch we’ve had in a long time!
The flavour, combinations of ingredients and overall menu options were surreal!!
If you crave having a bite of heaven you MUST GO THERE!
- Great staff
- Great quality food
- Tasty af
- Amazing prices
CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS PLACE.
Definitely a gem in downtown!!
Located next to the Lawrence Markets a nice a little local place to grab some eats and drinks.
We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
A good variety of food options with their menu available online. Ranges from burgers to Ahi Tuna salad bowl. No one was disappointed.
For a midday mid week time, it was relatively steady. Includes an outdoor patio allowing us to take advantage of the sunny day!
It has a nice local Neighbourhood feel and setting.
Perfect Saturday brunch! Various brunch menu options and good service! I ordered the french toast with bacon on the side and my boyfriend got the CP breakfast and the portion was huge! Highly recommended! With 2 coffees we spent 40 dollars.
Delicious brunch! The food came out in mere minutes after ordering—fresh and warm. Very generous servings and a few different options to choose from. Our waitress was also amazing; quick service and such a positive vibe. The indoor space is cozy and fun with eclectic deco and great playlists! Definitely try this place out :)
I've been here several times, and the food is always excellent, whether brunch or dinner. I've happened to be served by Leah several times and she's a very attentive server and such a pleasure to chat with. Thank you for a great experience at the Corner Place, Leah!
One of my favourite brunch spots in the city!
Very affordable, neighbourhood brunch spot. I come here all the time with friends. Lots of outdoor patio space. The eggs benny's are 10/10!
Really should be a 4.5 star ranking. Great prices, great food. Excellent service and dinning experience here. Did a great job of making sure all were safe from covid issues.
I had the Butter chicken and rice. Loved it, delicious. Came hot to the table in temp, could feel a touch of heat in the sauce, a little sweat but light gravy. Loved it. The chicken skewers were done to perfection. Service was excellent and fun.
Really enjoyed the experience.
Delightful, eclectic pub, with lots of crazy stuff on the walls. Interesting menu with an Asian flare. Good beer and wine selection. Prices are a bit high, but not outrageous. Would good again.
