Conversational atmosphere for a quick bite! The food is fantastically simplitic and highly affordable. Some of the most conventional street food you can get.
This Is The Spot , prices are great , staff is cool and The patties are amazing ! Definitely my new Go to Spot .
We need this in Boston! Delicious! Try the coconut bread too!
Pretty much the only best places to get high-quality patties at a very cheap price. If you want that actual good feeling of tasting Jamaican food such as this, them this is the spot.
Awesome food..person working was unbelievably kind too
Delicious patties and friendly staffed! I urge anyone to head to elm st if you're downtown and hungry.
This is a childhood favourite f mine. Whenever I visit Toronto, this is one of my first stops.
Great customer service! Cheap and awesome patties!
Heard so many good reviews. I'm sure they will be one of my favorites. Looking forward to savour them
This wonderful Jamaican food pocket just West of Yonge on Elm serves one product - Patties, and they are absolutely delicious. They come in three varieties Veg, Chicken and Beef and two levels of spiciness (tho' the veg is Spicy only, which is fine with me!).ย In addition the best of Caribbean soft drinks - Island Soda and Ting - are in the fridge as pictured.
Not THE best spicy beef patty I've ever had (Warden Station patties still hold that position) but still solid! Wish there was more filling, though. One patty was $2 compared to Warden station patties that are $1.75 (used to be $1.10 only a few year ago!) with a lot more filling, so that's why it's only getting 3.5. Still great for a quick cheap bite.
This little shop just off the Yonge St strip makes Jamaican patties. Yes, only patties (and coco bread too)...... talk about super-specialization! The patties are freshly baked, have a nice light yet crispy shell and spicy fillings. The fillings could be a bit more generous (hence 3.5 instead of 4). Check it out for a quick snack downtown.
Review is only based on the spicy beef pattie (which is supposed to be medium spicy). Wanted a snack and this definitely hit the spot! The beef filling was well seasoned and had the right level of spiciness for me. Shell was flaky and not soggy which is good. Price comes to $2 with tax in. Not too many items on their menu but they are named Patties Express so you'd expect a limited menu. Vegetarian and Chicken options are available.
I love the patty here, For 4.95 2 delicious patties (mild, spicy, vegetarian), and a pop. Can get the patties in a bun. Yummy! Looking a cheap snack that's filling? I would totally recommending this place.
The pastry was fresh and flaky, encasing a warm slurry of minced beef that had a good amount of kick. It was the best patty Iโve ever tasted.
What a pleasant surprise it was to find this place. I had a chat with the proprietor and he said that everything is made from scratch. The best patties in my opinion are from Allen's Bakery so this place had big shoes to fill.
I ordered the Curry Chicken option and was warned that since it was fresh out of the oven, I should wait a few minutes before indulging. The wonderful aroma from the pastry initiated an immediate mouth-watering sensation.
After about 7 mins, I dug in and was pleased to find the pastry to be crispy, moist, chewy, and an overall buttery melt-in-your-mouth finale . The filling was actually spicy (which is a good thing)! The Jerk spices came through nicely and you can tell it was a quality grade of ground chicken.
What a awesome find for just under $2. Will definitely be back again soon.
Gotta say go their once in awhile to have some tasty spicy chicken patties. Can get them in half a dozen or full dozen, they come out incredible. Always eat there, it's the best ๐๐ผ๐
Update; Unfortunately they're going to close down their location at Yonge & Elm St. Based on the construction plan of a new Condo Residency. Sad ๐ฅ But still support the love if they can find a new location ๐
Been meaning to try this place for awhile and finally got a chance yesterday. You canโt beat the price - two patties for $4 and change - and the patties were pretty filling. I tried the spicy chicken and very spicy beef one. Both were delicious. Great for a quick bite on the run or for cheaper.
This place is great. Super friendly people, hot tasty patties, and prices that are affordable. It's also the fastest place to get in a quick bite.
Today was my 2nd time stopping at Pattie Express. Since trying a pattie on coco bread for the first time I feel like it's the only way to eat it! If you haven't tried it I would highly suggest popping in a giving it a go. Service has been great both times! :D
Great, tiny spot right off younge street. Cute little side street with a great vibe. Patties were delish - we got them with coco bread. Nice soft and fresh! Would definitely recommend if you happen to be downtown. There's 10 minute loading parking too.
Good patties but I think they fall short of the elite michidean, allans or randys..good patties nonetheless.
Fresh or frozen for just over $2. Their patties are the best and service is quick. Chicken to XX spicy, coco bread or box some up to take home for later.
This place is great! Cheap eats, fast, and delicious! I love the little pop in shop and the place smelled amazing from the buns baking. Will definitely be back here. Also, there's Tiger Sugar around the corner! What could be better?!
