Review Kasa Moto - Toronto

Richard F.
Our server was great-food too. Both hostesses were very friendly & personable as well. The only thing was that our water glasses were left empty at times. They should have been filled up without us having to keep asking. It was very hot/humid & we’d finished our cocktails. Details matter. But I decided it’s not going to affect my 5 Star ⭐️ rating. Overall great experience 💯

We couldn’t get in to another restaurant so we decided to eat at Kasa Moto instead. I can’t believe this was our second option - the sushi was probably the best sushi I’ve tried in a long time, and the steak was delicious too. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant had a romantic ambiance to it. It was a perfect place for date night! I’d come back to Toronto again just to eat here. Loved it!

I’ve been here a number of times over the past year and the experience is somewhat inconsistent. Overall, the dishes are a hit or miss. The pork belly and wagyu buns are a must. The new Brussel sprouts dish is also great. None of the fried rice or noodle dishes are very good. I find that the quality of the sushi varies. The experience with the wait staff is inconsistent too. Many of them are attentive, but it seems that recently half are either new or just have bad attitudes. The most recent time I visited was on a weekday when they were not particularly busy. After being seated, we weren’t offered water for over 10 minutes and no wait staff even looked in our direction. It took another 10 minutes for us to order. At one point, 6 servers were just standing around all huddled together discussing something. Maybe there was a situation they were dealing with but the vibe was fairly unprofessional. After this most recent experience, and weighing the inconsistency as a whole, I don’t see myself coming back as often.

We came here for our anniversary lunch. The staff was very friendly and professional. Strongly recommend the hot stone beef, it was tender and juicy! We ordered the brussels just to have some veggies, and it turned out extremely flavorful! They also gave us a free dessert for the anniversary, the chocolate mousse cake was super smooth.

I’ve been here a few times and it has always been a good experience. Good drinks, food and service. Tonight had the sake sangria and saketini to drink and pork belly bun and chicken karaage to eat, both tasted good. Would recommend others to come here.

Every bite was delicious! No complaints whatsoever about the food, drinks or service. All were exceptional! Our server, Elizabeth, was phenomenal. She was very attentive and gave fantastic recommendations. The 2nd floor patio is gorgeous and Kasa Moto is a great option to celebrate a special occasion.

It has an amazing patio with great service. The staff is so nice. The food is amazingly delicious. They have amazing cocktails. The only thing is it bit expensive so if you want to celebrate something please go. Must visit place the food is amazing so must try. If you are celebrating something special you will get a free small cake to celebrate. That’s amazing love the service over and staff is so nice.

Food was good in general we liked everything we ordered except for the spicy chicken Karaage, it was too salty for our taste and not as juicy as the ones we tried at other places which was a little unexpected. However the pork belly bun was extremely tasty we had to order seconds…Also we were seated right under the speaker, there’s nothing wrong with the music choice or whatever it was just way too loud we had to yell at each other to be able to hear what we were saying which was a little bit uncomfortable.

We went to this place with a few clients on Sunday Aug 20/2017. There were 2 ladies hostess who seems nice. They took us to a seat, BUT it was by the bathroom entry and we didn't feel conformable sitting there, so we went back to ask to be seated in a booth. While we were waiting for the hostesses to point us to another table, there was this skinny short guy with mic on his hear.. he was very mean. When they finally decided move us to a booth, they move us to a section that smells like the sewer or sulphur-like smell coming from their toilet, we ask why does it smell like that, one of the server said, oh, because we put garbage there. Perhaps they should close off the section even if it's super busy. We order their chicken kabobs, when it arrive, it was raw. We were going to order more food and drinks, but from that moment, we decided to leave and go to One Restaurant. We believe the place is nice, but some of their workers are not so friendly to the customers by the way they talk to people. We would not recommend that the management should look into this issue, as one of our client is our sick in the hospital from the raw chicken.

I don’t even know where to begin. What’s the point of writing a note with a reservation when it’s not read or honoured? We were asked if we were celebrating anything: specified birthday dinner in reservation... I asked for two glasses of sparkling/bubbles to be brought to the table once we sat down...nothing. I informed the restaurant we wanted to do the tasting menu...there shouldn’t have even been menus on the table (granted we DID switch from outside to inside but any notes should have transferred and been attended to). Our server didn’t understand what “omakase” meant... in fact he described it to the table beside us as “share plates”. We were charged 150$/per person for 6 courses. One of which was miso soup and the other a salad and dessert so THREE sushi/sashimi dishes... Nothing on the regular menu would have been that expensive ...not even the 36 pieces of sashimi which we certainly didn’t have. We dined back in February...asked for a tasting menu. We were charged 125$/per person for 9 courses, most of which were sharing plates and off the menu specialties... If the restaurant was too busy with the patio open to accommodate us They should have said so and we would have ordered off the regular menu, spent HALF of what we did and eaten MORE food. We were looking forward to another amazing experience and had this been our first we certainly would have never come back. FYI TAPAS means sharing, not omakase.

Beautiful outdoor space, love the atmosphere and drink and food menu. Will definitely be coming back to their patio this summer. One of the best I've been to in Toronto.

Came here with a group of friends for dinner. It's quite the Japanese restaurant located in Yorkville. The restaurant makes a lot of nice and delicious dishes. I ordered the American 4oz Wagyu Beef cooked tableside with ginger-garlic ponzu & KM steak sauce, Hamachi Ponzu with yuzu ponzu, crispy carrot & shiso oil and the pork belly with ume glaze. These were excellent dishes to try. I loved the hamachi ponzu even though the dish was cold. Although the portions were small, It was quite flavorful and the presentation was nice. The pork belly was awesome. I would definitely recommend this as a starter. Getting the Wagyu was quite a nice dining experience as you get to cook your own beef on a grill. It was quite good but hardly comparable Japanese Wagyu beef. Overall, a very nice dining experience but it is a bit pricey. Friendly staff and great customer service. A nice vibe in the restaurant adds a nice touch to the dining experience.

The service was horrible. The waiter had an attitude and didn't show any desire to make our dining experience pleasant. The food was served one dish at a time and the four of us were picking at the same plate (dishes are meant to be shared, so the portions are small). We ordered 6-7 different dishes, and all of them were served one at a time, with 10-15 minute intervals. When we asked the waiter if we could get all of our food at the same time, he said 'everything has been ordered', and left. This place is overpriced for the kind of food and service they offer. Very disappointed.

I was fortunate enough to be taken on a lunch date to Kasa Moto and all I can say is wow! From the moment we arrived till we left was absolutely relaxing , delightful , and most importantly Delicious!!! We sat out on the beautiful patio in some very comfortable chairs. The edamame appetizer , which was just as exciting as the rest of the meal , was delectable and wet our appetites for what was yet to come. We then ordered the pork belly, the waygu beef, and they made me a special version of the scallop ,lobster and salmon maki with <as I requested, no rice. I just have to say that was the best sushi I've ever eaten and I've had some delicious sushi. it was amazing!! the service was impeccable and they are willing to customize anything you want and absolutely go above and beyond to ensure you the most enjoyable experience! I'm going to be dropping lots of hints so that my other half will be taking me back to Kasa Moto, I'm still dreaming of the beef and pork literally melting on my tougue..........yuuummmmmmmmmm!!!

Tasty food, calamari is a must try. Aamzing house music 🎶 . Little chilly on the patio but overall I would go back. Nice work!

The service was great. A waiter by the name of Glen recommended all the right things. The food and drinks were super. After dinner downstairs, we took a look on the roof and it was a happening place. Live singers and a killer dj. A definite place to go on a Thursday night or any time.

Had an absolutely horrible experience with service last night. It was over an hour between our maki, mains, and dessert. Had to ask for bill three times. We were rudely told when we sat down that we had to leave the table absolutely no later than a time they stated and then our whole dining experience was over 4 hours long! We asked several staff why it was taking so long and no one ever returned to give us an update. We sat for nearly ten minutes with no utensils and our mains getting cold. Food was good when it finally arrived.

Maybe the best high end Japanese experience in the city! Service, high energy ambiance, food and unique cocktails! HUGE rooftop patio in the the warmer months as well. Great spot, check it out!
