Is brunching just for weekends?
🤔 I think not!

The setting @thegeorgestreetdiner really allowed for my friends and I to relax and catch up.

Very good food and service.
Don't judge a book by its cover. I was hesitant to walk in when I saw the outside but I would have missed a great experience if we had turned around.
If you're going for the first time, the Ultimate Irish is a must-have. Everything about it is perfection. This place is busy on a weekends, but service is super quick, so you're seated in a reasonable time.
Friendly, quick and helpful service and good filling portions of food. The waiters mentioned that the Irish soda bread was great here, so we got a side order of Irish Soda Bread to try it out and it was DELICIOUS! I would definitely come back and eat this again.
Living on the west side (Fort York area), we tend to stick brunch spots within a 30-minute walking radius, although we've been known to make exceptions. We headed to the east side to check out @thegeorgestreetdiner after a friend's recommendation, which was well deserved. There was a bit of a line, which was expected, but it moved quickly and we were seated at a table within 10 minutes. Quick and friendly service - loved that the staff were joking around and busting each other's chops. They turn over tables quickly without making you feel rushed. The food was fantastic - I had the Irish Breakfast and it definitely hit the spot! Their Irish soda bread and hashbrowns are delicious. Jason had the Pulled Pork Benny, which was also very tasty - well spiced with a great blend of sweet and spicy. Would come back again!
Good food - pancake brunch with very fresh fruit and real maple syrup. Service is decent and atmosphere is fun. Definitely one to try and a good option to return to again.
Not a bad diner - but far from great!. Definitely stop in if your looking for brunch :)
But I think there are probably better diners out there!
Enjoyable. Hmmm..reading the reviews after having been there, I'm not sure I would have stopped in. So, I'm glad I did. Just visiting Toronto, and I thought prices seemed VERY reasonable to me. I pay more for less at my neighborhood greasy spoon in Seattle. What I did find was a very warm greeting when I arrived. A seat at the counter, where hot/fresh coffee was served immediately. A very fresh/hot Irish Breakfast also served up quickly. I noted everyone was greeted warmly when they walked in, and the place filled up as I was there...counter included. Folks next to me and I'd say everyone else seemed to be enjoying their food as well. I'd go back in a flash.
Love the breakfast!. One of the things I enjoy most about the GSD is the breakfast. What differentiates GSD from other breakfast/brunch places in the neighbourhood is its fabulous Irish soda bread and homemade marmalade. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!
It may be a bit pricier than the usual breakfast joint but it is definitely worth it for the diner feel and the quality food they serve you. Definitely my go-to place after an early morning exam!
Georges is an Irish greasy spoon (actually, like all the staff is Irish) that serves up a great breakfast accompanied by house soda bread. If you're coming on the weekend, expect to be waiting in line if showing up after 10am.
I love the vibe of this place. Owner Ash Farrelly makes everyone family. Best ever grilled cheese with grilled tomatoes, great burgers and when I need healthy big salads. Everything is ethical and farm fresh including great eggs. A must visit.
One of the best grill cheese sandwich I have ever had!! They add avocado on it for a little extra but so well worth it!! In the summer they have freshly squeezed lemonade which is simply delicious. It has that diner feel right on the corner of George and Richmond! A nice escape from a crazy busy city!
Went again, it was amazing!! I had the mac and cheese and of course the lemonade, my friend got the Cali Club and she enjoyed it.
I love coming here. The staff is always so friendly!! I love how retro the whole place is!!
I liked the place and food so much. I ordered Irish breakfast and grilled cheese. I felt that grilled cheese could be better. The place is small and gives you a typical diner feel. I went on weekend and it was super busy and unfortunately they don’t do prior bookings. The staff is friendly and kind. Highly recommended place for good food.
What a vibe! Unpretentious and casual spot for brunch. Got the Ultimate Irish Breakfast and it was quite hearty. The little figurines by the window really add a nice touch to the place.
It's a busy place so expect a small wait. Highly recommend though.
Amazing place for brunch but only has like 7 booths? Worth the wait though!!!!
Pleasant staff and fast service.
I got the oh so delicious George Street Croque Monsieur (challah bread, melted cheese and roasted meat!), upgraded to have fries since they cut those in-house, and husband got the Irish breakfast.
Looking forward to our next visit! *Drools*
One of the best breakfasts I've had in the city 🍞
[Food] I ordered the Ultimate Irish Breakfast and I enjoyed every bite of it. The standout was the soda bread, it was scrumptious.
[Service] The waitress was lovely and sweet. I couldn't have asked for better service
[Atmosphere] It felt like I was transported from the busy downtown to a small town diner. Everything inside this restaurant gives you a cozy feel.
Most authentic Irish dining experience in Toronto - tasted just like we were back in Ireland! We had to give the classic breakfast roll and chicken fillet roll a go and we were not disappointed. Lots of Irish goodies like penguin bars (refrigerated of course), tayto chips, and lucozade. Very friendly staff and had a lovely chat with the Irish owner. We will be back :)
Incredible service from everyone being cheerful and supportive. Our waiter stood out even in this quality team. Alas I didn't get his name. Being Irish I had the Ultimate Irish Breakfast, Holly had the standard and we shared. Everything was superb, but for me the blood pudding side really shined.
The food was quite delicious. The place is small and a bit tight for groups of 4+ but worth the stop. The irish breakfast are different than other places from the sweet beans and tasty bread, with well grilled meats. Another great and unique tasting meal was the french toast croque monsieur, making the sandwich a bit sweeter, softer bread and with the mustard it was delicious.
Would come back.
