Review Poutini's House Of Poutine - Toronto

Jay Mehta
Lovely place. We stumbled upon it while looking for a good vegan place on the Queen Street post midnight. We went for their Vegan Poutine and Regular Fries and both of them were really amazing. The fries were great and Poutine was one of the best we have had till date. The service is quite fast and there are a couple of high chairs in the front part of the restaurant. Overall, very much recommended.

Is it the greatest poutine I’ve ever had? No. Is it a serviceable late night snack? Yes. The fries were nice and hot, and the veg gravy is good. However, their really wasn’t enough gravy or cheese curds that came on it for our large order. I know it’s a delicate balance between drowning poutine in gravy and getting mushy fries and not putting on enough and getting dry fries, so they still have some work to do on this. Service felt slow, but that also might have been due to hanger... Ultimately though, will you probably be happy stopping in on a cold night after visiting a few bars? Most likely yes.

Open to the wee hours of the morning this place is a great spot for when you have snack hunger pains. Except their portions are massive so come hungry. Many different types of poutine but if you need something to tie you over or carb load after a night of drinking this is the place.

This place is on another level! If you are looking for good poutine then this place needs to be on your radar. Everything from the Fry’s down to the curds and gravy were so tasty. My wife and I really enjoyed our meal. Will be back on my next trip to town. Customer service was good. Cash only so take some with you!

I have been recently taking myself on a city wide tour of the best Poutine places in Toronto and Poutini's is the top of the list. Serving up large crispy fries covered in thick tasty gravy with your standard cheese curds, Poutini's serves Poutine right. I think their Poutine is the most picturesque I've been served, and continues to make my mouth drool any time I look at the picture.

We went on Friday evening, wasn’t as busy. However the poutine was really great, we ordered the special which was the chicken with jalapeño. I really like the vegetarian one as well with caramelized mushroom. Staff were really friendly. That said I did find the poutine to be on the drier side and we ended up asking for more gravy. Adding the gravy made a huge difference and tasted way better.

Good poutine. My first time trying it, I had the traditional poutine. I have nothing to compare it to, but gravy and cheese curds on top of French fries, is pretty good!

Delicious food and good prices. We just tried it for the first time and definitely going back for more. The bacon poutine was the best I've had so far. The service was great, we even got some free sauces. If you like poutine you must try this place.

Coming from a chef and my experience working on an award winning French Canadian poutine truck. Fries were pretty good. Gravy was spicy and salty. Tasted like either cayenne or Cajun seasoning. Hot spices mimic the taste of salt so between the spicy gravy salty fries and salty curds the salt was overbearing. Curds were good quality However I watched the girl take them out of fridge, curd should be room temp and squeak at bite. They should almosyvhalf melt but these were rock solid and had no squeak. They were good curds just should have been out of fridge earlier. I'll give 3 out of 5 . My gravy was way too spicy. If gravy was fixed and curds were room temp would be a 4. All in all for the price it's a decent place, no means amazing but pretty good. I recommend using St. Albert curds and tone down the spice.

One of my must stops when I take someone to Canada with me! The maple bacon poutine is my favorite. The place is cash only and has an atm, because of this you have a good idea they are a great place to go.

Lol are you guys serious? I managed to over look the worker problems cause it seemed like you guys addressed them, and the stupid cash only in 2018. But now you raise prices on everything by like 3 bucks? Get out of here, at this point I'm just going to make the trek to nom nom nom poutine's on dundas and bathurst. Cheaper, better food for same price, and they take card!

Went this weekend and was disappointed. There was only one guy working and service was slow. Fries were cold, cheese curds just sat on top and didn't even melt a bit, gravy was blah and accumulated at the bottom and bacon was microwaved! I have definitely had better and will stick with my regular spot! I had high hopes for this place :(

What's going on here? Why are you having such difficulty providing basic health and safety equipment for your staff? I guess I'll take a pass until I hear otherwise.

Meh. First, get Interac/debit at the counter. It's 2017. Stop forcing your customers to pay a $3 surcharge to get cash at your ATM. Second, Poutini's seems to be unable to get the basics right. I am a fan of regular poutine (so I can't speak to all the different varieties on the menu). Regular poutine should be easy for a specialty place like Poutini's, but the curds weren't melted. Not even remotely. If I wanted regular curds, I could have gone to the grocery store (where, by the way, they accept debit and don't have an ATM scam like Poutini's). The gravy was also a bit watery and peppery for my taste. The fries were good (thus the two stars).

Poutini's needs to treat its staff better, and not fire them for raising legitimate concerns.

Ive been hearing horror stories of how they treat theur staff. Also very unhealthy and unsafe conditions apparently and the owners are scumbags who dont care. They also own bobbie sues and hawkers bar.... Its all shit. Never going there, and no one else should if you care about your health and human beings who dont deserve that kind of shit from a scummy boss. Seriously.

Second best place to enjoy poutines in Toronto, NY fries still holding the first place... Yet.

Generous portion sizes and enough variety to please my poutine loving family! We would definitely go back! Better yet, open up another location in London! You would thrive near Western campus!

Went out of our way to try the famous poutin place and I have to say it lives up to it's expectations. Best food wise experience we had even missed our flight for it. Living in Cali it is better than our In & Out animal styles fries just a personal thought.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars, because Poutini's is one of the few places that I've been to that offers completely vegan poutine, and might I say, it is pretty damn great. There are food trucks near me that offer this option, but the taste does not come close to this place! The fries they use are purely incredible. Also, I love Poutini's great location, even though we usually have to park a short walk away. Very clean and attractive. However, I don't like that I have to use the ATM if I forget cash, as the ATM has a pretty steep fee. Also, my first experience was awesome, super friendly guy working! However, the person I had on my most recent visit seemed unenthusiastic and I feel that customer service should always be consistent even if you're tired or having a rough day. Regardless, I will gladly come back soon, as Poutini's truly satisfies my cravings and is one of my favorite places I have visited in all of Southern Ontario.

Really gross to hear how they treat their employee's. I won't be going there ever again and will encourage all my friends both here in Toronto and visiting from out of town to avoid.
Renee Grandé
Don't blame your staff for your mismanagement, fire them all for walking out on unsafe conditions.

Bland fries/gravy/pork Cold rubbery curds that squeaked as I chewed Had to pack my own order for take out High debit fees And to top it all off - poor customer service Waste of time & money

Poutine is the sole of the ancient Canadians. Originally brought to North America by the Vikings. Poutine was spread to the early Anglo-Saxon people by the native Americans. Originally fried in Buffalo fat and with buffalo curd and Jerky. The very survival of the Europeans can be laid at the very feet of Poutine.

It was my first time having Poutini and it tasted delicious. The service was very nice. I loved the place. If I ever go back to Canada, I am sure I will visit this place again.

I'd like to hear from the owners what they say about firing workers improperly when they refused to work in unsafe conditions.
