We went for Saturday brunch. The huevos milagro were the stellar of all! But the enchiladas with mole poblano were also amazing, the mole sauce rich and thick. The torta milanesa was gorgeous with the jalapeño at the side. We had the manager Alexis making for us the best of the times with his friendly witty humor and passion for mexican food, and Artie doing his best for the drinks. I am Mexican and i extreamly recommend milagro!!!
I highly recommend trying Milagro Cantinas if you fancy some Mexican cuisine. The food was excellent! I am sure their wait staff are all wonderful. We happen to get Hal as our waiter and we were very pleased with his professionalism and exceptional service. Disfrute de su comida! Enjoy your meal!
I'm vegan and gluten free and they have great options, super nice staff, going back Saturday with my wife.
Milagros came recommended from a friend and we were so happy we listened! The staff are excellent, and the food was wonderful. Prices on drinks and food were very reasonable! Can’t wait to go back!!!!
Wonderful service despite the business of the restaurant. Excellent hot food and very knowledgeable waitress. Management very diligent, aware and quick to offer help or refills. A must go to again!
Throughly enjoyable. Great atmosphere and good food. We would definitely come back when in town.
Great food, great atmosphere and the customer service was excellent.
Great food, strong drinks. Really good service, will definitely go back.
Nice spot with great atmosphere and friendly service. My meal was very tasty and a good sized portion. Great selection of beers including a few Mexican brands.
is that delicious? Test test test , I can rate it although I have bought anything.???is that delicious? Test test test , I can rate it although I have bought anything.???is that delicious? Test test test , I can rate it although I have bought anything.???
Enjoyed a wide Mexican fare here on Cinco De Mayo. Love the ambiance here and the food even more so. They are always busy so making a reservation is recommended especially for the weekends.
We started off with the Guac and Chips bowl. The Guac had a subtle heat to it from the chopped jalapenos but was delicious and balanced well with the house made chips.
Then we moved on to the Trio of Enchiladas, The Chicken Tinga and the Conchanita Pibil which were all outstanding. Also ordered a side of Chorizo which went well with our Enchiladas. Finally, since none of our Mexican meals are complete without tequila/mezcal we got the Bloody Maria and the Oxaquena. Overall a great meal.
The only drawback on going there on Cinco De Mayo was the crazy busy lunch service and the food took a bit longer than expected but the taste made up for the wait!!!
Attended this restaurant after a Blue Jays game. Within easy walking distance of the stadium. We had a group of 6 adults and although we were an hour early for our reservation they easily accommodated us. We liked the decor, ambience, and the outdoor patio. The wait staff were courteous, fun and efficient. But best of all was the food! Best burrito I have ever had. It's a little expensive but reasonable for downtown T.O. All in all a very nice place
Been here only once, In downtown Toronto, its close to the harbour and CN Tower..
Milagro is a mexican food restaurant, so if you love mexican food you can definitely count on it to give you delicious mouth watering food..
Food 9.5/10, service 10/10, staff 10/10, ambience 9/10
Staff is very co-operative and their service is good.. staff is always polite and helpful..
so as i said if you love mexican food, you will love the place.. it wasnt too busy when I went here.
I loved the food and thanx to all the staff for excellent service and a wonderful dinner
Milagros is conveniently located close to downtown entertainment district. Attentive, courteous staff with good service. Food wise I am not sure if this is how the authentic Mexican cuisine tastes like. I must admit the food authentic or not indeed tastes good. Unlimited supply of nachos and salsa is very much enjoyable. We ordered couple of marghirita pictures they were delicious spiked enough to our liking .. but we thought they were little pricey being the highlight of our bill. We went there as group of 10 to celebrate my wifes birthday..the table was well laid..and we were promptly attended. Our biggest grievance was the air-conditioner was turned off and their counter to this was to provide one table fan for a table of 10…which was lot of sweating and kind of dampened the whole event. Please avoid that huge table for big groups we almost felt like we were sitting in a storage area where cartons of produce, beer etc.. were stacked besides our table… I hope restaurant takes this as an constructive feedback..
Went on a date here over the weekend, always a fun spot. The margaritas are huge and so so so good. The tacos were good, some were a bit over cooked. The guacamole was on point.
Skvely skvely skvely. Takovou mexickou v Praze tezko hledat. Ceska delegace obsypala tohle misto na tyden. Super kombinace ktere jsou videt i v Mexiku. Zadna pennymarkez placka s fazoli a majolkou :)
My friend and I stopped by Milagro in the hunt for good Mexican food and left feeling really impressed by the service. The food, on the other hand, was not spectacular. The fish taco and carnitas dishes were good, albeit on the under seasoned side, while the salt on my Paloma Milagro drink was a little heavy-handed.
Our favourite dish of the night was the dessert (trufa maya).
Super service and gorgeous ambiance. Kinda makes you wanna take a Mexican vacation ASAP!!! The menu all looked so good. I couldn't choose between the tostadas...so I ordered them ALL!! Delicious!!!
A great Mexican spot in the heart of the city. The place can get pretty busy at lunch so it's not the quickest if you are on a time crunch. Food is delicious and very filing but a bit on the pricey side.
Always great food! Good service. It is hard to find an authentic Mexican place that doesn't look shabby. I've been here twice and never been disappointed. Would highly recommend.
This restaurant has changed my perception of Mexican food .. We thought Mexican is all about salsa and beans .. But there is more to it after visiting this place .. Loved food .. Great service and good ambience for a date .. Fondue which is Fondido here is liquid cheese with tossed mushroom served with flour tortillas.. Hongos con Queso- Taco was diff with sauteed veggies, panela cheese is amazing.. Suizas Enchiladas- flavorful and yum.. Complimented by a pitcher of Margarita.. Absolutely recommend
Had dinner at Milagro on a saturday night. The p k ace was busy but we were able to get a table. We ordered the guacamole and chips to start. Its slightly spicy and good. Three of us shared a patter with pork carnitas, albondigas and chicken tinga. The pork and chicken were perfectly seasoned. The albondigas were very spicy. The food is very authentic, not tex mex style. The music gets louder and lighting gets lower as Late sat night approaches. Nice place to hang with friends. High top chairs a bit uncomfortable for shrties like me though. Get a regular table if you can
The food here is fantastic and quite different from fast food tacos and burritos. I highly recommend their happy hour from 3-6 on weekdays where you can get guacamole, some drinks, and select tacos for $5.50. The Margaritas have a really nice flavor blend where the lime comes out and it's not excessively sweet. They have some other tequila cocktails with a hint of chili pepper. Not cheap, but fair value for quality ingredients and preparation. Conchinita pibil is a my favourite thing, and the goat milk flan is quite unique in a good way. Waiters are very good at reommending dishes and are passiomate about the menu. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but perhaps that's an accurate representation of Mexican cuisine? The ambience is great for a larger group or just dinner for two. I frequently see parties of 10, sometimes 20 people, dining there. They have a sidewalk patio in the summer too. My only complaint is that the service is fairly slow, which is no problem if you're hanging with friends, but kind of stressful if you have to make it to a show.
"The restaurant looked especially appealing in the summer months with its large patio on John - woven chairs filled with guests on sunny days.”
“The main sitting area vaulted space was culminated in a white ceiling somewhere high above in relative dimness. Some of their oversized pillars were wrapped in a chalk board material and Mexican movie posters were towering above us.”
“Tinga had its pulled chicken simmered in tomato and chipotle with a side of Mexican rice and sliced avocado. Not dry at all, however spicy once again. “
A few bites from our full experience..
This place truly takes me back to my childhood when I was a gringo in Mexico. Even though I'm not actually Mexican nor have I ever been there for more than a week at a resort, this place makes me feel like I was Mexican in a past life. The food was absolutely incredible and the atmosphere was exactly what you'd want when eating at an authentic Mexican restaurant. The service was great, the waitress was cute...the only thing I was disappointed in was that I filled up on there amazing guacamole and also that the waitress didn't have a Spanish accent.
Besides that this place is hands down the best Mexican food I've eaten.
Great Mexican joint in downtown Toronto. If the weather is great, you could opt to sit at a nice patio on john street. The decor is excellent and we had a really great time here. The guacamole is very tasty and one of the best I have had in Toronto. For the main course try the Mole Poblano. It is awesome.
Amazing guacamole and unlimited tortilla chips. Has a commercial vibe but the food makes up for it. Red sangria is pretty good. Once went for the happy hour taco special and wasn't disappointed!
Been there for lunch, tried Pascado Rodrigo, fish tacos and tamarindo in drink. All the foods was really good and perfectly hot n spicy. Enjoyed alot
Awesome. Not sure why people complained about the poor customer service because that certainly was not our experience. We arrived early for our reservation tonight by half an hour but that was not a problem. We started off with large margaritas and Queso Fundido - awesome drinks and melted cheese, not a bad start. We then ordered Rosartio Tacos - shrimp was cooked PERFECTLY. Really they are not to be missed. Husband had the Pierna De Cordero, lamb fell off the bone and was amazing. I ordered Tinga Burrito which was good but I was so full I could only manage 3 bites. Finally the customer service was fantastic, our drinks were never empty and the staff were super nice. My Husband would like you to know he is presently in a food coma.
Great Food As Always!. Third time at this restaurant and the food was delicious as always. Servers are extremely pleasant and helpful in choosing menu items. One caution, though, to please read the prices carefully. My friend ordered a half liter of Pinot Grigio wine believing it to be modestly priced (yes, she didn't check, only read by glass prices). When our bill arrived she was astounded to see that the wine was $39. for a half liter. After much discussion with the Manager, he kindly reduced her wine bill to the price of two glasses. Thank you to the Milagro management for taking pity on us. We have learned our lesson to be more careful in the future.
Authentic. The only downside to this place was the service, our waitress wasn't very friendly and a little forgetful, in part because she doubled as the bartender. The menu and food, however, were extensive, authentic, fresh and very flavourful. The also have a large tequila and margarita menu and drink specials most nights. Despite the less than stellar service (made up in part by other waiters pitching in to help), we'll be back again.
Great meal. I had a very nice meal at Milagro. The margaritas come in two sizes; the small will seem refreshing, but the large will more than satisfy. (Get the large.) The chicken mole enchilada was as spicy as advertised, but satisfying, and the staff can't be beat for friendliness. Ask for a table outside if one is available - nice on a warm evening, and great for people-watching too.
Fantastic. The food is so fresh and beautifully prepared. There were 10 of us and everyone loved it. Service was attentive and good. Recommend it thoroughly.
Good. Went here for lunch with my husband, my parents and my brother. We all had something different and everything was good. I had the Tacos Rosarito with shrimp, avocado, and crema. It was great. My Dad had the Pollo con Mole. He said the mole was excellent - spicy and rich, a complex flavor. My husband had the barbacoa burrito and he said it was excellent. My Mom had the fish tacos and "it was so good I couldn't believe it." My brother had the vegetarian burrito. Service was a little slow but since the tortillas were made fresh, I can excuse that a bit. The wait staff wear blue and white plaid shirts which is a little odd for a Mexican restaurant but whatever.
Tip: Free wifi available, just ask for the password!
Friendly but not very efficient staff. Service was slow. Ordered the meat combo platter plus some apps and that was enough for 4. Pretty sizable portions and good food.
Good, not great. Its nice to go to a more sorta up-scale mexican, as most mexican places are very casual. Note, this place is not very formal, just a little more attention to decor.
Service was a bit slow as I read some others have said.
Food was actually good, but nothing that I would make me crave for. For the price though I think I expect better.
Overall I dont regret going but I did expect or hoped for a little better.
Beware of outdoor seating! Homeless folks will swipe food/drinks right off your table as you dine. You won't even have a second to react! We actually thought it was hilarious. Not so funny if you're starving.
Been to the Queen st location and the food was definitely tasty and well priced. The cucumber margarita is worth a try. Recommended!
Food good! Booze good! Matt good!
The food is delicious and the service has always been excellent. Great food and a great time.
This is our second time at Milagro in just a couple weeks. But when you’re craving Mexican and looking for a good meeting spot in Toronto’s Entertainment District with variety (and prices!) to please everyone, you can’t do better than Milagro.
The craze in the food industry in the past year or two seems to be all about tacos. It could get a bit repetitive, but the Milagro Cantinas offer traditional Mexican e ateries inspired by Mexico City - so you're looking at the good old authentic stuff here! We were invited to a dinner at their Toronto flagship on Mercer St., opened by Mexican City-born brothers, Autoru and Andres Anhalt, and it was unlike any other Mexican food we had in Toronto. Upon arrival, cocteles - a selection of mixed libations from the cantina were placed in our hand - can't complain as it was a long day at work ;) The restaurant space on Mercer pretty big with lots of seatings along the window as well as bigger tables for groups. The staff were super friend, fun and lively - it felt like we were at a friend's party... a friend who knew how to make some damn good Mexican food, that is! After being seated, the food began to emerge from the kitchen - glorious sight, of course! Guacamole con Totopos ($12.00) -
...looking for a fine dining experience with an articulated vibe and menu that emphasizes regional Mexican specialties. My father was in town for a medical conference and decided to take me out for dinner before I flew away to Latin America for the month of December. I made my reservation via twitter and received exemplary service from all of the restaurants enthusiastic staff. At the end of our dinner the manager graced our table with an offer of $18 a glass tequila and a fantastic Mexican dessert. Sweet drunk finish. We enjoyed: Cucumber Margarita Nachos and Salsa Taquitos de Tinga pulled chicken in jittomate and chipotle with aguacate Chiles Rellenos cheese filled chiles poblanos in spicy sa
I just love Milagro! I could have an enjoyable time on a light spring day sitting on the patio or even on a wintery day inside. It always has great atmosphere, fast service and amazing food! I’ve been to Milagro over ten times now and I’ve never once been disappointed. It may be because my taste buds are still jumping up and down from the flavours of Mexican cuisine. One thing I never had the opportunity of appreciating while growing up in Australia is Mexican food. It just wasn’t a cuisine that was readily available but is although quickly becoming more and more popular recently. One of the perks about Milagro is being able to walk right in and enjoy a freshly made salsa with homemade style tortilla chips immediately. Best of all is that they’re complimentary. So if you’re super hungry and your stomach is calling out to you in desperation you need not worry here! You’ll be able to much on these tortilla chips for as long as you can but make sure you leave some room for the food ..
This is one of my staple Mexican restaurant to frequent. The staff is very attentive and prompt. The guacamole is a great starter to order. The Tropical de Pescado is yummy with the right amount of zing to it. Lastly, the sauces that most things on the menu come with add a different layer of flavor to the whole food experience.
Been here a few times... Food was very good. Had the guacamole and the tinga burrito. Service is a bit slow and a bit pricey. I would definitely go back for the food
With three very successful locations around the city, Milagro Cantina is one of the most widely-recognizable and respected Mexican restaurants in the city. For a recent menu launch, I was invited to their original Entertainment District location to taste my way through the authentic flavours of Mexico. Mexican-born owners and brothers, Arturo and Andres Anhalt have worked tremendously hard to incorporate their love and passion for their home country into every facet of the Milagro brand. A quick glance around the room and their commitment becomes immediately clear. From the tri-tone Mexican-flag themed walls, to their traditional recipes and techniques, it’s obvious that Milagro is about so much more than just fancy-pants tacos. We began the evening with introductions by Chef Arturo Anhalt and a selection of fabulous Mexican margaritas and cocktails from the cantina style bar. Oaxaquena Tlacuache Mezcal, Triple Sec, Agave Rosa Canela La Pinta Pomegranate Tequila, Bulleit Bourbon, Martini White Vermouth, Cinnamon, Agave Michelada Negra Modelo, Fresh Lime, Salt Rim Milagrito ‘Ven A Mi’ Mezcal Reposado Warning- these drinks, are so smooth they go down very quick- yep, even the straight up shots. Be sure to pace yourself with a Botana or two- that’s Mexican for a snack! Thankfully, the gracious staff at Milagro were hot on that thought and brought out more than enough food to satisfy the crowd.-Guacamole Con Totopos with Three of Milagro’s Salsas De La CasaThe freshly fried flawlessly seasoned tortilla chips quickly disappeared from the basket as we mixed and married the different heat levels of the salsas with the lusciously creamy guac.-Ensalada Cesar Romaine, Egg, Anchovy, Parmesan and Garlic VinaigretteA simple yet flavour-packed take on everyone’s favourite salad. Who could say no to this?-Tostadita de Pulpo and Sope Plazero Crisp Tortilla with Octopus and Chipotle Ceviche & Sopa with Pork Carnitas, Tomatillo-Serrano with Salsa and CremaI love Mexican street food, and this duo did not disappoint. The flavourful and tender octopus was light and refreshing topped with bright ceviche, while the sopa sopped up all the delicious juices of the pork. Yum.-Cochinita Pibil Achiote Marinated Pulled Pork, Pickled Habanero Onions, Fried PlantainsMake your own! I love interactive dishes, because I like food done my way and Milagro lets me have that control. I really enjoyed the combination of the sweet plantains, the earthy beans, the rich pork and the sprightly pickled onions- definitely a homestyle comforting dish.-Pierna De Cordero Braised Lamb Shank in Chile Guajillo & Mezcal SauceThe meat was meltingly tender and infused the potatoes and carrots with its aromatic and beautifully spiced juices.-Mole Poblano Roasted Chicken, Poblano Style Red MoleThe Mole Poblano, also known as Mexico’s version of curry, is truly a senses-stimulating dish. This recipe uses 32 ingredients to make the rich aromatic sauce, with chocolate and peanuts being some of the most prominent flavours. If the sound of chocolate on your chicken sounds unusual, I urge you to check out Milagro’s Mole.-Flan De Queso Al Caramelo and Natilla de Cajeta Homestyle Cheese Flan With Burnt Sugar Sauce and Creamy Custard With Goat’s Milk Cajeta & Bruleed Sugar For me, this dessert-duo was love at first bite. Okay, so probably more like second bites- I had to take separate spoonfuls of each dessert. The Natilla de Cajeta was satiny and sweet within but had a nice solid crunch of bitter bruleed sugar to balance it out. Alternatively, the flan offered a more consistent delicate texture but its caramelized layer on top had me hooked.Disclaimer: The food and drink featured in this post were complimentary, however, as always, all opinions are genuine.
Milagro is an authentic, cozy restaurant filled with beautiful Mexican culture and décor. The restaurant is located in the middle of Toronto between the financial and fashion districts. You’ll find that Milagro is more than a restaurant that serves tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The family of Milagro is passionate to bring together food, drink and good company. We started of with cocktails, guacamole and a shot of tequila. Fresh and addicting. I found myself snacking on this throughout the entire dinner. There were three dishes of appetizers. The first was a fresh Cesar, the romaine was crisp and the vinaigrette was creamy and zesty. The next two items were served together. Tostadita de pulpo and sope plazero. The octopus was poached to perfection, tossed in a beautifully seasoned crunchy salsa. It was fresh and light compared to the next savoury and creamy snack. The sope plazero had an interesting corn masa base and it soaked up all the delicious juices from the pork and salsa. The sweetness from the pork and the creaminess from the cheese balanced the heat from the tomatilla-serrano salsa. I could eat this all day, yum! And the food just kept coming, next were the entrees. All three dishes were served with steaming corn tortillas. First up was marinated pulled pork with pickled habanero onions, refried beans and fried plantain. The pulled pork was savoury and full of spices, the plantains were sweet and the onions were VERY spicy! Three or four strands of those onions were more than enough in my tortilla, I couldn’t handle the heat! I was most excited about the lamb shank. It’s braised in chile guajillo, mezcal sauce with carrots and potatoes. My favourite dishes are usually braised meats with tons of spices and herbs. The meat always turns out tender and the flavours have a lot of time to mingle together to form something spectacular. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and insanely flavourful. The next item that I got to dump over my corn tortilla was chicken mole. Before this meal, I’ve never heard, seen or tasted mole. Chef Arturo informed us that mole is traditionally made with 20+ ingredients and it’s finished with cocoa at the end. Although the sauce wasn’t sweet, I could taste the cocoa. I was really unfamiliar with the taste and texture of this sauce, so it didn’t stand out like some of the other dishes. I was afraid of not having enough room to eat dessert because I was stuffing my face with all the other dishes. No worries, I was able to consume the final dish of the night. The cheese flan was rich, creamy, slightly heavy with a slight bitter after-taste. I enjoyed the smooth creaminess of it though. The other dessert was a creamy custard that taste like melted caramel, YUM.
Great Mexican joint in the Downtown Core (Entertainment District to be exact). Though the place does give off the "commercial" vibes. Expect to see a lot of suits, after hours, tequila... Very tasty guacamole, I must say :-) And the tacos were delicious as well. They do have a small patio on John St. if you're lucky to catch some good weather. Personally I prefer the more Mom and Pop shops (ie - El Trompo in Kensington). Not sure if I'll be running back here anytime soon.
It is pretty evident that Toronto foodies love their Mexican food. It seems to be something we’re always striving to find. The next best taco, guacamole, or mole. But it seems as though Toronto has not yet discovered the greatness of one restaurant which truly is a hidden gem. I’m here to share the secret of Milagro Cantina Mexicana (5 Mercer St) with you.
Arturo Anhalt (head chef and co-owner) opened Milagro in 2006 with his brother. Born and raised in Mexico City, they grew up enjoying Mexican cuisine at home, in the streets and in the restaurants and cantinas of Mexico City. When they came to Toronto, they wanted to bring those flavours to our streets, which can be found in their three locations across the city along Queen Street (783 Queen St W) and Yonge (3187 Yonge St).
Upon arriving at the restaurant, you are greeted with service that is beyond complimentary. Delicious corn chips with salsa are left on the table while you peruse the menu. There is an adorable little warning on the menu that tells diners to keep in mind that items will be spicy and they are not wrong. Everything from the rimming on the margarita to the guacamole is spicy, so be prepared – this food is not for the faint of heart.
We started our foray into the menu with a refreshing 2.5 oz Oaxaquena margarita. Shaken and poured over ice with mezcal, triple sec and agave , the drink paired wonderfully the two ceviches we indulged in: Pescado Tropical (marinated snapper, sweet mango, tomato, cilantro & onion) and Veulve a la Vida (mixed octopus, shrimp & crab with tomato, cilantro and serrano pepper). The ceviches were wonderfully executed. Photographer Yuli and I are huge seafood fans and could not get enough of the beautiful colours and flavours on the ceviches that were presented.
Next up, we were treated to the equivalent of the Mexican Caesar, the Michelada. A combination of the Mexican beer, Negra Modelo, tomato juice, fresh lime and salt & pepper rim – it would be perfect for a hot summer day. Paired alongside our Al Pastor tacos, which consisted of adobo pork, grilled pineapple and salsa verde, it was a winning combo that really had me yearning for a patio.
Arturo came alongside to the table to chat with Yuli and I about the origins of some of Mexico’s favourite street food and brought with him a dish he remembers eating on the streets of Mexico City. The dish, Tostaditas Dona Flora, is crisp tostadas, chicken, refried beans, avocado and creama. The flavours were complex yet so incredibly simple. Paired with a shot of beautiful Tequila, Arturo walked us through the proper way of drinking, “Bite at the lime, sip the tequila and then sip at the chaser.” he told us. The chaser consisted of a tomato and orange juice mix, which cut down on some of the acidity. The tostada and tequila combo had me feeling like we were on the streets of Mexico City.
Milagro Cantina offers up some spectacular food with an array of cocktails. For those looking for authentic Mexican in the heart of the city, look no further than Milagro.
I had a long walk after work to a Mexican restaurant called Milagro for dinner with some of my coworkers. I ordered the pull pork taco and some roasted potatoes as a side. The food was excellent, kind of on the pricey side though. It was still early in the evening but the place was so poorly lit. It did not make for great ambiance. One of my coworkers were disgusted with the 18% service charge they levied on us for having a party of eight and over. The total damage was $35 which is on the high end side for Mexican food. Go at your own discretion.
The craze in the food industry in the past year or two seems to be all about tacos. It could get a bit repetitive, but the Milagro Cantinas offer traditional Mexican eateries inspired by Mexico City - so you're looking at the good old authentic stuff here! After being seated, the food began to emerge from the kitchen - glorious sight, of course!
Guacamole con Totopos ($12.00) - tortilla chips with house-made guacamole (aguacate, cilantro, serrano chiles, tomato, onion & lime)
Salsas de la Casa - three of Milagro's famous salsas: mile, medium and spicy
Milagrito 'Ven A Mi' Mezcal reposado, warm syrupy with a smoky mezcal
Ensalada Cesar ($9.00) - romaine, egg, anchovy, parmesan & garlic vinaigrette
Tostadita de Pulpo ($8.50) - crisp tortilla with octopus & chipotle ceviche
Sope Plazero ($9.00) - corn masa base, pork carnitas, warm tomatillo-serrano salsa & crema
Michelada - negra modelo, fresh lime and salt rim
Conchinita Pibil ($21.00) - anchiote marinated pulled pork, pickled habanero onions & fried plantains
Pierna de Cordero ($19.50) - braised lamb shank in chile guajillo & mezcal sauce
Mole Poblano ($18.50) - roasted chicken with poblano style red mole
Natilla de Cajeta ($) - creamy custard with goat's milk cajeta & brûléed sugar - fell in love with this!
Glan de Queso al Caramelo ($) - homestyle cheese flan with burnt sugar sauce
I did had high expectations as this is actually one of my friend' favourite restaurants in all of Toronto - now I see why! The food is spectacular with an abundance of cocktails and wine to pair them with. Add the lively environment and staff and I am in Mexican heaven. Milagro Cantina definitely became one of my top 3 Mexican restaurants in the city and I can't wait to go back for more.
ps. Please make sure you try the dessert we had!
An incredible experience eating here last night! We called to see if they had a table of 5 and the accomadated us with ease. The place is beautiful, beautiful decor, friendly staff and a very comfortable environment, the only thing I think could of used a little work was the bathrooms. Just needed a little more cleaning but with the amount of people that were there I am not surprised. NOW the FOOD THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! I went with my boyfriend (who is from Mexico and only been here for 2 years) and he said it reminded him of home. The food was phenomenal and we wish we could of tried everything there! We will definitely be back !
The outside is nothing like the inside in a good way. The inside looks very traditionally Mexican, larger than expected and yet cozy. The staff were probably some of the nicest in the city and the food was very lovely. The cod tacos were surprisingly the most delicious we’ve had. Also learned a new way to take tequila shots (with a Mexican chaser).
Good tacos, but the spicy margarita was fantastic, I could use more! I enjoyed it all. Bill adds up quickly, but worth it. Don't be situated dissuaded by the exterior and entrance.
The cheesecake flan was very good. I really like flan (less so cheesecake) and my partner really likes cheesecake (but not flan), and somehow, we both really enjoyed this dessert and thought it tasted more like the thing we liked!
My partner also really enjoyed his chicken tortilla dish, although he forgot the name.
Loved the customer service. loved the food absolute delicious traditional Mexican food. The churros were so fresh and good. I loved everything. Cool ambiance of the restaurant. Definitely recommend to try it
We went here a night ago and enjoyed a delicious dinner. The food was good and the service spectacular! There are a lot of options on the menu and none will disappoint. The central location is perfect for anyone looking for good Mexican while staying close to major events and attractions. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.
This may have actually been the best mexican restaurant I've been to. To start we got some guac and salsa with chips which were some of the highest quality I've tasted. As a main, we got the platter to split among us and it was fantastic. The meats were tasty and juicy, and we had some deliciously creamy beans on the side as well. Then for dessert...the churros will not disappoint. I could have had a whole other serving all to myself.
