Review Town Crier Pub - Toronto

CHNC 0571
My first time visit here, food was good, variety of beer choices!! Nice patio spot to chill!!!! Recommend!! I ordered the Germany Poutine, it was yummy. The sausage was juicy, not too salty!!! I love it !! I also ordered the cider, very refreshing! One thing I want to mention is the service was not as good as expected, our server looks sad… I wish I can cheer her up.

Busy busy busy busy! The food was okay, the vibe was good. It’s a nice place to enjoy some drinks. Rating the atmosphere higher than the food tho. Taking a star, because the seats are awkwardly close to each other, you can literally feel the breath of people sitting next to you, didn’t really like that. The staff were good.

Upbeat vibe with great service! The vegetarian carrot schnitzel was alright, I liked the crunch but the patty needs more flavour, maybe some more herbs or spices? The fries were great! And the food came fast! Which was impressive, I want to try the vegan sausage next! Thank you.

The burger was amazing. The selection and quality of beer on tap is unlike any pub I've been to in Toronto. The outdoor patio area is also not bad, they've got propane/charcoal heaters that somewhat keep you warm. It was about 5 degrees outside at the time I ate there with a co-worker. Will definitely come back to this place! Price is on the high end though. Spent around 35 bucks for a burger and a pint of beer.

Let me just preface this by saying I came here on St Patty’s day which is one of the busiest days of the year. Service was amazing considering how busy and packed it was. It’s not a huge space but it’s also not a small space so you should have no issues grabbing a table here. Our first server was very friendly and courteous and she got us a couple of hats for St Patty’s. Ordered the Belgian poutine and it was very tasty. The sauce was light and complimented the fries well. Only complaint is I wish there was more of it. I would definitely come again.

It was my first time coming to the Town Crier and I was very excited because my boyfriend always said it was a really good place to have schnitzel. The service is great, the inside of the bar is cozy and nice and the food was amazing. My boyfriend and I ordered the pork schnitzel with mushrooms cream sauce and we were amazed at how good it was, the Belgian frites and coleslaw were delicious. We are definitely coming back soon!!

Went here on a Saturday night with friends. Pretty decent place with good music, food and drinks options. I loved the theme and vibe of this place. The food was good too and the service was upto the mark. The serve was checking upon us if we need anything from time to time. It’s a must try place. Loved it 🥰

Love this place, one of my all time fav in toronto. Vibe is great. The patio is mostly open throughout the year even in winters (unless its a bad snow day). The outdoor patio have fireplaces all around to keep you cozy in winter. When it comes to food and drinks. Its like a Irish pub with a lot of beer to select from. They have more than 50 beer on the tap. Food is average, after trying food several times I have realised to stick with fries to munch on 😅. I would give this place a 5 star because its a perfect place to drink with a fine selection of beer and have a great time with your friends. Its my goto and I would highly recommend you going here.

The German beer is extraordinary good but not cold enough, need to be. And when I order prezels and dips, I expect prezels and different dips, not half a plate of salad and tomato slices and only two prezels with cream cheese. By the way the prezels were exactly like in Germany so why not putting one more on the plate and add swiss cheese and leave all the salat. It would be nice if one could place the order right away without waiting ages while the staff is chatting in front of the waiting guests. Doesn't look good. A shower before starting work would be fine as well.

Other than running out of a lot of beer I wanted on the menu it was a great find. Still a bunch to pick from & a great patio!

Great advice from our server about the selection of beers, cosy atmosphere inside as well as nice patio well back from the street. I liked it so much I went back for another beer :D

A great place for me to both relax and get some work done. Great for lunch and I'm looking forward to having dinner some time. An attentive and very cool staff. No complaints from this regular patron.

Service was somewhat slow considering the patio wasn't too busy ... 35 celsius and we had to ask for water .... Dinner was good . We definitely left after our 1 beer considering my mug was empty for some time .

Great atmosphere great food and drink only 2 negatives lots and lots of beer choices but no Guiness. And if your going to sell lamb shank which was absolutely delicious you should have Mint Sauce. There was 7 of us after the blue jay game service was fast and efficent our waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable would go there again but get the guiness and mint sauce

Beer selection was fabulous and the atmosphere was amazing. I was on the first floor and it was a small cozy room that some people might feel was a little jammed, but I personally enjoy that feel. Food selection was good, but we were not amazed by its quality. It was still good. I'd be willing to give it a second shot for food and definitely would return for the drinks. The apple crumble was a good dessert but was missing vanilla ice cream.

Awesome selection of good specialty Beer and friendy service. This will be my go to spot when visiting Toronto.

Food and service were exceptional. Our server, Ian, was very knowledgeable about the beers on offer and what he didn't now about wines, he asked. He made sure we were happy with our choices before he gave us full glasses. The short rib flatbread has my mouth watering just thinking about it. Although we do no live in Toronto, we will definitely be making another visit there.

This two-level pub has a good selection of European beers, particularly from Belgium and Germany, and the bottom floor has an intimate, old-world European atmosphere.

Andrew was our server, he rocked our world. Would come back just for him and the schnitzel!

Staff are jerks. A couple got up from their table and they refused to seat us there, saying they're expecting to be busy. Wanted to put us at a "table for 2" which is actually half a table for 4. Literally 3 inches between tables and the table is so small their menu doesn't even fit on it, let alone any food. I'd give it zero stars if I could. We left and went next door instead, host couldn't care less.

Great list of beers and best peppercorn schnitzel!

I'm in town from Chicago and couldn't have been happier with the atmosphere and service. We've already been twice on our stay and are planning one last visit before leaving town. They have fifty beers on tap and delicious food comparably priced to the area restaurants. If you love pubs, add this to your list to visit. Love you guys!
