Review The Good Fork - Toronto

Diana Mai
The food was so so so good!!!! It exceeded my expectations. I got the Spanish Hash. Potatoes were very crispy and the whole dish was full of flavours and very filling. It also had two poached eggs. Got Mimosas to drink. They were really cute because it came in a small bottle and you poured it yourself. The decor inside is delightful. The service was fast and everyone was very nice. I definitely want to come back and try their lunch menu and other brunch items!

As a person who loves brunch!! If you are looking for a place that offers you a beautiful, healthy and FANTASTIC brunch, GOOD FORK is the BEST place in Toronto! I’ve had brunch in 5-star hotels but this place is really something!! I’m 100% happy with them. I’ve been here twice, or three times if you count a typical Sunday when they had a 1.5 hours waiting list for the brunch! Yes they are pretty busy on weekends and unfortunately you can’t do any reservations. But still!! The best place! The first time we had hummus bowl with chicken, blueberry halva pancakes and Anatolian platter .. . The pancakes?! Wow!! 😋 I’m a kind of less-suger person😅😅 so the Salep was a bit too sweet for me! So We asked them if it’s possible to order it less-suger next time and they said yes! So next time: we again had the bowl, the, and the appley apple pancakes. We liked the blueberry halva pancake more. The less-suger version of the Salep was absolutely amazing!! We can’t be more happy with a brunch place in Toronto! We are planned to have brunch there on a regular basis 😬 Hummus bowl with chicken: this plate offers you ALL you expect from a healthy and delicious brunch dish! Anatolian platter: A dish of colors and taste which comes swith fresh turkish bagel 🥯 Blueberry Halva pancakes: Have you ever had halva on pancakes? Try it!!!! Appley Apple pancakes: caramelized apple cinnamon date which is sweeter than blueberry pancakes. And don’t forget to try their Salep drink !! 😋🤩

I come here specifically for one dish, and that is, the Çılbır. Just utterly divine - the herbs, the oil, the bread they serve it with. Everything marries so well together. Just soooo good. Their Earl Grey Lavender Fog was also heavenly. Very creamy and smooth. It’s a great place to have an unconventional breakfast or brunch. Great atmosphere. Suggest coming on the weekdays as it can get quite packed on the weekends.

Good Fork needs no introduction. It’s a very popular middle eastern breakfast/brunch/lunch place. There is always a waiting list to get in. I had the amazing opportunity to try their best seller Blueberry Buttermilk Pancake. To go with that we ordered something savoury, the Cilbir. The pancakes were heavenly. SO GOOD.

I had high hope for this place after reading all the comments… and it certainly did not disappoint. We sat in their patio (p.s dogs allowed) and our server was great. We ordered several items from the menu and every single one was delicious! Most of what we ordered was on the savoury side… next time I’d definitely give the sweet dishes a try. This brunch spot is definitely on a league of its own… and does not compare to other brunch spots I’ve been to.

Homy brunch spot in the West End of Toronto provides an inventive and diverse menu along with excellent service. Our Father's Day celebration was a wonderful experience, flawlessly executed, by the staff at the Goo Fork. Highly recommend!

My experience at the Good Fork was overall good. Their pancakes are rich, dense and yummy. I totally loved them, however I did find them a bit too much if they’re order as a main dish. I would recommend ordering them to share with somebody as it’s impossible to eat the whole thing alone. Too much sweetness in a dish. Their mimosas are tasty too. Their menu is interesting and the place is decorated in a way that feels harmonious with lots of natural light. Lastly, I’m giving it 4 stars because even though our server was extremely nice and apologetic with us, I had to send back a fork and a glass of water because they were dirty. Apart from that, everything was great and we enjoyed ourselves having brunch here.

Taste of Anatolia and Turkey 🇹🇷! Brunch was very delicious! A bit noisy but it was in general fine! I recommend this place to those who are looking to taste modern Middle Eastern and Turkish meals.

I love this place , I go often. The staff is very friendly food is to dye for . Overall a great place for brunch and definitely would recommend it to everyone to try it .

Food was really delicious. Service was not at the same level. After making good recommendations our waitress failed to check on the table. It looked like they were short staff. I definitely recommend this place and will be back to try other items on the menu.

Delicious food made with a lot of care, caring and relaxed staff, conscious owner AND very accessible. They have automatic doors and a wheelchair accessible washroom. Having a physical disability, sometimes I have to wait until I get home to use the bathroom. It was nice to be able to sit down, eat good food, get good service, order alcoholic drinks and not have to worry about my bladder lol also, the owner told me that he and his partners specifically designed the restaurant with accessibility in mind. This is a very rare thing in Toronto! Definitely come to this restaurant:-)

What a great spot, and the food was fantastic! The menu was a perfect size, with well thought out and perfectly rendered choices. The service was friendly, and we really marvelled at how well the space was designed. The only itch was that there isn't a lot of sound absorption, so hard of hearing people like me will find it difficult to hear over the volume of music, the clatter of dishes, and general hum of conversation.

I had poached eggs on deep fried breaded tomatoes, it was delicious. It’s packed for brunch but they put you in a waiting list and seated us 15 minutes earlier. Would recommend for sure

We live in the area and have been to the good fork on several occasions. The food is always exceptional - the best in the Village - and this is the reason we keep going back. Today, however, the service we received wasn't the greatest. We arrived there around 1pm for lunch and were told by the server that there was a waiting list of 10-15 minutes and to "go grab a coffee" until they text us. As we sat on the bench outside (who drinks coffee before lunch?), we noticed two empty tables (one upstairs and one downstairs) and after 10 minutes of waiting, they were still empty. My husband went back inside to ask about the status of a table and sure enough at that point we were taken inside. Upstairs there were 3 large booths and a table for two all empty plus the table downstairs for a total of 5 empty tables. Needless to say that they were never filled during the time we were there. It was very disappointing to have been told to go get a coffee when there was more than enough space to accommodate us inside. Your staff needs to be more up to date on the status of your reservations and table availability, as well as, more diplomatic when turning away customers.

The food was amazing, but the service was poor. We waited 15 minutes to order, 45 minutes to get our food, and after asking for the bill immediately, we still had to go searching for our waitress who seemed to be a bit lost and day dreamy. I would go back again for the food, (the pears brosnon was DELICIOUS) but I would make sure I had lots of time to wait for a slow server. The man who I think was the owner though came and checked on us and was prompt!!

Hands down, the best breakfast joint we've found! Unique atmosphere and creatively delicious menu options, all of which we've tried we've loved... Big advocates of The Good Fork! We're enamoured!

Fabulous fresh food - didn't wait long however would be worth the wait. Good food takes time - great service

Got the steak and eggs and it was absolutely phenomenal. The rest of my party enjoyed their food as well. Service was prompt. Overall, a very nice restaurant and atmosphere. Will definitely recommend, as well as come back!

Absolutely delicious! The service was great, there was mistake with one of the meals however they did not hesitate to fix it. Well done Good Fork!
Amanda Fountain
Amazing breakfast. Not far from the airport; perfect for a layover stop.

Delicious food ! My personal fav fancy pants !! Yummilicious !!!

Long wait but worth the time. Great food and service. Local gem.
Robyn Mumford
The most amazing Chef!! The heart and soul that goes into the food is above all else. Much love!
Nadine Sharyl
Great food! I really enjoyed it and the atmosphere was awesome to. What made it only worth three stars was the lousy service by Megan. Sorry to bother her by being seated in her section. Everything was going well until we get our entrées and two of the sides were mixed. She commented on it noticing the mix up as she set it down on the table. But did not correct it, we had to switch the sandwiches on our own plate correcting their mistake. Then I hear her asking the other tables if they wanted hot sauce or fresh ground pepper...which she never offered us. I asked her for some hot sauce and she placed it on the table without saying a word. Once we were done she cleared our table and brought the bill. Despite the service we were going to have a coffee but went else where. I don't know what it was about out table she disliked to not care... Like I said great food the pulled pork and burgers were delicious their buns really add to it. But very disappointed by the service.
Amanda Kramer
Food was amazing!! Service was excellent! Will definitely be back

Great food. Service is alright. Tried getting the Lox bagel one day for breakfast. I was told I couldn't order that since they don't make it before 11am however I could order the lox eggs Benny. Not sure why they couldn't just put it on a bagel

Love this place! My favourite item on the menu is the red velvet pancakes. I could probably just eat the cream cheese icing it comes with on it’s one as
well....its that good!

We came here with another couple who recommended us this place for brunch. It was around 1 pm on a Sunday when we arrived and, we still had to wait for at least 1 hour to get in (around 2 pm). The good thing is that they write down your name and contact you when your table is ready so, you can hang around the neighborhood meanwhile (as we did).

We sat on the second floor right next to the window so, it was nice. The ambiance is fine and the decor is nothing outrageous but, it works. Service was a little slow indeed but, friendly...

The food was actually good. Among other things, we had the Lentil Soup, Huevos Rancheros, Spanish Hash, Red Velvet Pancakes (Side) also, some cocktails Caesar, The Jolka and, we found everything to be very enjoyable although, not excellent (at least for me).
Food In The City Toronto
Several weeks ago, myself and Sandi (from Foodaholic Blog) ventured off to the west end of town on a Friday evening to visit The Good Fork. The Good Fork is pretty well known for their brunch offerings during the weekend. However, the restaurant is also opened for dinner service for Thursday and Friday evenings only.
HappyFeet
We are going back regularily for brunches - their unusual combos of egg bennies are constantly drawing us back. My personal favorite are the Pulled Pork ones. Never thought this combo would work, but it certainly does!

We waited over an hour for a table. We asked for a table upstairs as it felt very downstairs. The music was too loud given the already high noise level. The Buttercup Omelette has lots of Manchego Cheese but was missing some seasoning and it was dry. Even the toasts were dry. Not the best food but would give them a second chance.

While I do like this place, I wasn't exactly in store for what was offered.

What got me to go into this place was the cute and funny signs that they have out front every morning. The inside was really nice looking, and the upstairs had a great view of Bloor West Village.

At first, I thought it was gonna be typical diner food, but I was wrong since this places offers unique combinations to beloved favourites. I decided to keep it simple and ordered eggs, toast, bacon, and homefries. Everything tasted great and there seems to be some hidden treasures throughout the meal, like herbs in the potatoes.

Overall good experience and probably would try again.

Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience with the service here and I've been back once to give them the benefit of the doubt because the food was quite nice.

Both times we were left waiting ages for our order to be taken and again when we wanted to pay. The second time we also waited about 40 minutes for a table (which is fine, they gave us warning up front) but after waiting for a text which never came we waited outside the restaurant and was told we were to be seated next. Then they proceeded to seat another group with no apology and left us waiting another 5 minutes. I probably should have left at that point. The maitre'd had major attitude and the server took our order without writing it down and then forgot part of it.

The sad thing is the food is nice (although the coffee wasn't great) so i would have gone back if the service was reasonable. But after two attempts I won't be going back.

AMAZING BRUNCH. Always have a great time at The Good Fork! Love their brunch, everything is good! Service is great and fast!
Cas
The Good Fork has been a highly recommended word of mouth place to try. However, the service is terrible. The server we had recently, Meagan, was so unmotivated. She brought us our meals with the sides mixed up and left us to sort it ourselves and gave us a meek apology. Never even asked if we needed anything afterwards and was oblivious to our empty water jug. Don't get us wrong the food is delicious, however it's unfortunate when the service supersedes the craftsmenship of tasty food.

It was amazing!. My friend and I found this place by accident and I'm glad we did. staff was wonderful and friendly. the Bennie was possibly one of the best I've had. totally worth a visit.
David Taylor
Dvd. Beside straight up bacon and eggs, if you want em, is an interesting combination of foods for breakfast and lunch. Despite that, what makes the trip to and the wait at times worth it is the excellent service.
The words please and thank you still exist from those that serve the tables, as does their pleasant smile.

Great breakfast! Good service and terrific food!
Amor Fati
Not as gluten friendly as it seemes. The menu makes it seem like you can get waffles and pancakes and all sorts of wonderous things as gluten free, but really it's only the toast. It was a good breakfast - but nothing extraordinary, and not impressed about the menu "glitch"
Lisa Ursi
Excellent brunch! Great service, good coffee and delicious food. Had the Spanish hash and friends had Nova Scotia eggs Benny and side French toast which was exceptional. A little pricier than standard breakfast places but worth it, Would absolutely go back!

Served raw mussels. Ordered the mussels special and it was served raw (not steamed). When I brought it to the servers attention they seemed annoyed. The took the bowl and put in the microwave for a few minutes and then returned it to the table without saying anything.
Very disappointed about the raw food and poor service. I brought it to the attention of one of the owners and he just shrugged his shoulders like it wasn't the first time this had occurred.
Lisa
Horrible staff. The place was ok and the food was very good but the staff specially the girl who was the greeter she was the worse unacceptably rude and unfair, we were there and we got seated to the only table left in the restaurant which was very small right by the window and in a sunny day it was very hot couldn't feel the A.C. so we asked to get another seat if available and she said no there is no seat then after she seated 3 other couples and some empty seat beside us we asked again and she said no you already got a seat and its for other people who may come by And she argued with us and ruined our mood and caused us not to come by ever again WTF if I was the owner I fire her if she can't learn customer's are always right so fir this you get no vote or my business as far food I will find other place with better services, better staff and better food.
Pauline
Best neighbourhood find in Bloor West. Quality food served by knowledgeable, friendly staff. Interesting menu and willing to accommodate special requests. It's not over-priced, over-decorated or overwrought. Just a great place to eat.

I've walked by more than once but finally checked the rating on urbanspoon which led me to stop in for brunch. The rating is well deserved! Had the Spanish Hash and was thoroughly impressed...poached eggs and hash browns but with a Spanish twist. Food is good, atmosphere is clean and modern and service was great. Bit more than you would typically pay for breakfast but worth it.

Okay food, bad attitude. I did not have a great experience here. When we arrived the restaurant was full, so the hostess took our names down and suggested we walk up the street to grab a coffee and then come back in a few minutes. When we arrived back we were told there were no outside drinks allowed (which is fine) but our drinks were pulled out of our hands pretty abruptly. It would have been nice to be given the option of finishing them quickly, or maybe being able to put them down ourselves. We were seated at a table upstairs by the window and we ordered our drinks. FYI -The loose leaf tea is actually just regular bagged tea. I ordered pancakes and requested that they be gluten free (because their menu states ‘make it gluten free for $1.50’ right below the pancake section), the server told me that they don’t do gluten free pancakes. When I asked why it said that right below the pancakes she flatly said the menu is misleading. We then waited 30 minutes to receive our eggs, in a restaurant that was now pretty empty. Overall, the food was alright. Nothing exceptional though. The overall attitude from the staff was pretty cold, and a little snarky. I will not be going back. I can get the same food and better service at Dennys.

Delicious!. The Good Fork makes the best brunch! I had such a difficult time deciding what to order as it all looked so great - they had many vegetarian options! I ended up getting the Huevos Rancheros eggs which were divine... I was a little skeptical at first but it turned out to be so good! We also tried the red velvet cake pancakes with cream cheese frosting... so so so good!!

Final word: The Good Fork is a must try food destination for anyone visiting the Bloor West Village!

Great food and great company!. We have been to good fork numerous times and the food and staff has never disappointed us!!! Its a perfect blend of creativity and taste. Huevos Rancheros is my favourite with the perfect cup of freshly brewed coffee! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. looking forward to our next visit :)

Very good food! Always enjo.... Very good food!
Always enjoy my meal every time!
Thank you Chefs at GoodFork

Not bad, not great. Had an awful breakfast experience here about a year back - had been laughing at people lining up for brunch on weekends but then found myself forced to eat here the other night when everything else on the strip was full

service was good and attentive

the good: burger was good; pot-pie was very flavourful, fairly well seasoned, great puff pastry top

the bad: pretzel buns sound good in theory - reality is they break in awkward pieces (not my favorite burger receptable); why must restaurants use those stupid small thin plates for everything? why do i want to eat a messy burger on two inches of plate? and why must you put fries or a salad in another bowl on top of the small plate? (argh...this is my bias perhaps, but i think its stupid); fries werent cooked, slightly soggy and oily; pot-pie gravy was just a tad too thin

i would go here again - the prices are quite reasonable and the food for the most part tastes good - although the execution could use some work

Delicious food, waitress made no guff about separate bills, felt like wait time was good considering we were a table of 6 and the place was jammed.

Wonderful!. I can't say enough good things about The Good Fork. I have now visited for brunch and weekday lunch and can't wait to go back for more! The food is absolutely beautiful - it's not your typical run-of-the-mill fare. Although many items are rooted in traditional recipes, there is a definite and often surprising twist that elevates them to something really special. The omelettes were just perfect and the poundcake french toast was to die for. For lunch, the veggie burger turned out to be no burger at all - it was an amazing, melt-in-your-mouth loosely assembled hand-made patty on a fresh bun with toppings that just blew my mind (think remoulade and guac).

But it's not just the food. The service was very friendly, attentive and quick on both occasions. The staff really acted like they were happy we were there. And last but not least, the value is really incredible. The food is really high quality and you get plenty. Not to mention the mimosas we had doing brunch - for $8 you get a whole 330ml bottle of sparkling wine and a can of blood orange aranciata by Pellegrino that you can mix yourself. That easily makes 2 mimosas (and a very happy me). Now tell me where else in Toronto you can get 2 mimosas for $8?
Kelly
Dinners are wonderful!. I have never been here during a busy time, so I can't speak to long service times, but my partner and I love this place to death. The Butternut Squash Gnocchi are incredible, we order them every time. We've also enjoyed the Veggie Burger, the sweet potato fries, the Mac n Cheese (which was not as excellent as we'd expected, but still very enjoyable), and a few other things. The beet "ravioli" are delicious, but WAY overpriced...you get five little beet-and-cheese things for $9! But in general, the food is delicious, we like the atmosphere, it feels like a cozy neighbourhood place, and the service has always been just fine when we've been there!

Started out great...but..... The Good Fork started out really great in the neighbourhood. However, they just recently changed their menu and increased their prices dramatically. While I am willing to pay $15 for a gourmet salad, I am not willing to sit through the terrible, terrbile service. From the time we ordered, to the time our meals arrived, 60 minutes had passed. Hungry, and now irritable, what I thought was going to be a delish lentil soup, turned out to be just disgusting. Too spicy, too much tomato sauce, chunky lentils. Just wrong all around. Our server did not even check up on us to see how our meals were. We were simply handed our bills once our food was finished. I would have appreciated our server to at the very least ask how our meals were, if we needed any more water, coffee, etc. Just totally turned off by this place.

Fantastic decor. Great food. Glacially slow service.. My wife and I have tried twice to lunch at Good Fork. Having waited for about forty minutes the first time we complained and received a profuse apology. Today we went again and suffered a repeat performance. If you have an hour for lunch you just can’t afford to spend nearly 75% of it waiting for your food. This time we left before anything arrived at our table. We will definitely not be giving them a third chance.
Cathy
Great Food!!!!. Two of us had brunch there on Sunday and had a hard time choosing from so many amazing things! We chose two of the Eggs Benedict choices and they were both so delicious.I will definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu. Coffee was freah and organic fair trade - magnifique! Everything looked so fresh and delicious - from healthy options to decadent ones. This is a very welcome addition to the Bloor West neighbourhood.

Breakfast. We have eaten there at least 3 times and had various Beni's. My favourite is the smoked salmon. Great staff, good food.

Great Brunch/Lunch!. I've been twice now and the food is fantastic :) The Mac N Cheese is amazing! Not to rich. And the salad's are always fresh and yummy. Service is alright, could be better.

Great Food. Tried Good Fork tonight for the first time and loved the menu. Had a hard time deciding but chose the Pot Pie which was amazing and Lentil Soup..then Bread Pudding...so good.
My friend had the Roasted Halibut which she loved. I will get that next time..but now I will also go back for brunch.
Service was good and the food is fresh.
Finally.. a good restaurant opened in Bloor West!
Angela
Amazing FRESH food made with love!. Just looking at the menu you can tell there is an inspired chef leading the kitchen at the Good Fork. Everything on their menu sounds scrumptious -- and after trying as much as I could in 3 visits, everything has absolutely lived up to my expectations.

Here are my favourites so far:
I tried the Bacon Infused Vodka Caesar and it was absolutely amazing! I'm told they infuse the vodka with bacon in-house (not surprising since everything here seems to be made fresh).
The Spanish Hash was very good - full of flavour and the eggs were cooked perfectly.
The Chicken Salad sandwich had a very fresh twist compared to typical ones I've tried. It was really tasty!
The Chicken Pot Pie is also a must try. They simply load this up with chicken and bacon and top it with a flaky tender crust.
One of my favourite things I've tried was their special today -- a grilled panini bacon wrapped meatloaf with bbq sauce and ranch coleslaw... to die for *drool*.

Also must commend their hand cut french fries which are triple fried and very potato-ey for lack of a better description, as well as their sweet potato fries which are perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender and creamy on the inside.

This is my new hot spot and I can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu as well as their specials! Mmm-mmm good!
Mike Carrier
The food is amazing!. I have gone here many times now since they have opened. Each visit I try something new. Everything is amazing.. The brunch is wonderful! This is one of my favorite places in Bloor West Village. Service and atmosphere are great. The BC Halibut is to die for, excellent burgers, granola/yogurt/fresh fruit parfait, double down eggs Benedict (the egg is deep fried after been poached)--just brilliant! Perfect for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Coffee is consistently great. There is competition is the area, but this place comes out on top/ In my humble opinion.a huge serving of fresh, flavorful, fabulous food!

Doubt I'll be back.... Waited a half an hour to get a table (not their fault), and then 40 minutes more to get brunch (their fault).
The waitress was out of it. Took 10 minutes to get our drinks. Forgot a coffee, which is $2.90 for the smallest cup I EVER had. About 2 gulps. Refills are free, but we had to flag down another waitress to get our only refill. Service is brutal !
Food was not bad, but not that special. Had the Spanish Hash. Sausage was good but the home fries were the small frozen type ones you buy from McCains. Doubt they were fresh made. Got half a piece of toast with the order, which i thought was chintzy for a $10.50 item. Order a side of toast and got 1 thin slice of toast for $1.50. Brutal.
They do give every table a bottle of water which is think is great. it also is of great help to them considering how poor our waitress was.
They need to hire better staff if they want to last in the area.
Oh, one more thing. One high chair in the restaurant and it doesn't even have straps to buckle a young child in.

Astonishing!. To put it simply, for a new place, they really got it going on. Every now and then a new restaurant opens up, and they go through the hardest time of their lives. Most of them don't leave an impression on people and close within weeks. Its still early to say where The Good Fork will end up, but the way it's going now, I can safely say, up! The food is awesome, nothing out of this world crazy, but it has that home cooked 'Your mom just made this' feel. I can't ask for anything more. I came with my husband, three visits now, and we've been to brunch twice and one dinner. I need more dinner, that rib braise with the parsnip puree still lingers in my mouth. If I could drink that sauce, I would. Their burgers are just heavenly. Simple, with subtle hints of remoulade, nothing to kill your tastebuds, but make them want more. I want to bring more friends, not to promote, but so I can find excuses to go there. If I could criticize one thing, it would probably be that they need to buy out the Bloor-Jane Restaurant beside them. That place is an eye sore compared to here. I really hope they stay in business! Coming back for sure, xo.

Fresh, not frozen. "Pretzel Buns".
Enough said.

O...m...g.... That was not at all what I had expected. Incredible. Atmosphere, staff, location... and the food is as amazing as the presentation. When did Bloor West Village get a real restaurant?

I've been back a few times. Don't listen to that character, the food is amazing! The service really is friendly and the make their burgers from scratch. I've had the best chicken pot pie, the lamb was deliciously succulent and the cevapis are pretty tasty too. Can't wait to try the ribs!
NC
Maybe NOT. First the service - perhaps trying to be nice, but I could sense a sort of feeling "don't bother me too much" (BTW - it wasn't busy at all).

Coffee was horrendous, the menu said it was organic, maybe it was, but the taste was just awful.

I had the burger and salad - the burger obviously made from frozen stock and it tasted accordingly. The salad was fresh, but the dressing was probably the cheapest commercial dressing they could find.

I am not sure if I will try them again, maybe sometime in the future I will see if they improved.

Price - too expensive for that kind of food.

Amazzziiiiing!. Best grilled cheese EVER! And my friend had the lentil soup and it was also delicious. Good value for money, great menu selection and everything was cooked perfectly! My new fav spot.

THANKSGIVING UPDATE. Oh, my! What an amazing meal. Lentil soup followed by Cornish game hen with chorizo stuffing on corn & parsnip puree and with butternut squash chips. Then churros with raspberry puree & chocolate sauce. We declined the included wine, so I can't tell you about that. Ali and Tolga have it all working.

-----07 Oct, 2011-----

Perfection.... My new regular spot! Food is DELISH! Absolutely! Delightful menu selections. I've enjoyed everything I've tried and so far my fave is the Spanish Hash. The 2 brothers/owners Ali and Tolga, know their stuff both from the cooking standpoint and the service standpoint. Food is served quickly and aesthetically. Wait staff are attentive and friendly.

Go there. Eat. Enjoy.

...The Good Fork (right at Jane Station. Resist the urge to go to Booster Juice instead)...Veggie Menu: two eggs with homefries and bread, spinach benedict on a polenta cake, four veggie omelettes with an option of egg white only, huevos rancheros, menemen (baked eggs with tomato sauce, with a side of focaccia and arugula salad), red velvet pancakes, blueberry pancakes, lavender and semisweet chocolate chip pancakes (with sea salt), homemade granola, and four smoothie options (see? No need to go to the Booster after all!) Let’s get one thing out of the way: I’ve had some disappointing experiences at Good Fork before.

Red velvet ANYTHING spikes my interest almost immediately, so when I came across a picture of The Good Fork 's red velvet pancakes... I just had to try them after exams were over. The Good Fork is a cute brunch restaurant located on Jane & Bloor in the Bloor West Village, which I've never been to prior. Inside, it looked very new and clean with large wooden tables and chairs, and dull metal details which I love. One thing I can say regarding the service is that is is VERY slow and the wait for tables is long (we had to wait 50 minutes for a table for three). The food took a while to come as well -around half an hour. What I had: Side Red Velvet Pancakes, $6.5 My friend and I decided to split the small red velvet pancake order due to the server's suggestion... and thank God we did! The small was VERY satisfying. Four pancakes came in the order, and they were very fluffy, light and you the chocolate flavour truly came through. They weren't overwhelmingly sweet, which was very smart because the amaaaazing cream cheese icing that came on the side was just right. It was very sweet with a little bit of a kick. Overall, delicious treat and I would definitely come back for these! Billy Goat Grilled Cheese 3.0, $12 On the menu, this grilled cheese is described as "goat cheese, ricotta, five herb pesto, artichoke hearts and spinach". Although it doesnt look like much in the picture, it was absolutely amazing. The ricotta and goat cheese worked perfectly together, as the ricotta's mild flavour balanced the goat cheese nicely. The pesto was spectacular alongside the cheese. Finally, the fresh spinach was a nice twist as it added freshness to the sandwich that otherwise could have been too much. The fries, too, were AMAZING and had a sort of breading on them that was to die for. Another knockout dish that I would definitely reorder! All in all, The Good Fork was absolutely delicious. Their menu was filled with classics that all had a little twist t

As a group, we had a little bit of everything on the menu and honestly everything that came out looked and tasted divine. V had the Good Forkin' Morning (pictured above) with eggs over easy, fruit, homefries and bacon. Here's my Spanish Hash. Chorizos, Homefries, Onions and Veggies with two perfectly poached eggs on top:

There were a few things we wanted to try on the menu so we paired up so we can share the dishes. We got the red velvet pancakes with cream cheese frosting and maple syrup. The pancakes were big, not too sweet and it was fluffy And we also got the chicken pot pie with smoked chicken, bacon, peas, corn, puff pastry with sweet potato fries.

I was amused at myself that I could not decide whether to leave one bite of the french toast or one bite of the Spanish Hash. It was the menu bewilderment all over again! LOL. So I left small components of both dishes and I squeezed it all on my fork for a perfect bite.

AWESOME! Love this place!! I go here for brunch and its the best! You cant believe how many different ways you can eat eggs. They also have red velvet pancakes with sour cream frosting syrup and that alone is a reason to go!

I went to The Good Fork to meet up with a couple of IGers for brunch and the service was amazing. Added to the fact that it's right next to the Jane subway station - which made it ridiculously easy to find!

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the wait staff who pointed me directly to where my party was waiting. I went upstairs and as soon as I sat down, the waitress placed a menu in front of me. She gave us sufficient time to order our food and almost as if she had ESP, she came and took our order as soon as we had decided.

The food came out timely and very nicely plated. Being an avid IGer, we obviously had to take photos. Our waitress laughed it off amusingly and not in a derogative manner. We spent a solid 20 minutes and not once we were ever given any dirty looks.

After taking a billion photos (tip: if you're a food blogger, request for a table upstairs next to the floor-to-ceiling windows! the natural lighting is fantastic), we settled in to feast on our brunch. I ordered the Nova Scotia Bennie which had smoked salmon (texture was really fresh!) and some dill over top as well as a side of home fries.

Let's just say that they overloaded my plate and I had tons to take home afterwards. But I'm never to complain about extra food to save for a later meal!

I also ordered a cappucino, which was bold in flavor but slightly sweet. I'd advise against putting any extra sugar into your drink unless you're the type of person that likes your things to be super sweet!

Would I go back? Yes to try the other things that they have to offer! Side note: they have red velvet pancakes! I didn't try them myself but if you're in need of a really nice looking food plate for IG, order it!

Very disappointing with the service and food. We were rudely greeted at the door and told to help ourselves to any table even though the tables were filthy. We asked if a table could be cleaned before we sat down but they didn't appreciate that, should have been an indication to leave but we stayed. Food was presented well but the taste was very much lacking in flavor and served cold. We asked for the potatoes to be warmed up and they said that was how they served it. We can say that will be our last time there and will not be recommending it at all.
