You know when you’re walking up a random street and can’t believe your friends there’s a restaurant down there and even more so that there’s good food? This is exactly what beast is all about. Hands down this must be one of the best pizza places in Toronto and I’m not even exaggerating. We had mushroom and pistachio — melts in your mouth where it should and stays crispy and fresh. Can’t wait to go back! We also shared bone marrow which was also just fantastic!

I had been to the previous incarnation of Beast with my friend, and we needed to check out the new Beast, Beast Pizza. Love the new setup and decor, clean, bright, busy as one would expect on a late Saturday afternoon, but we still had a spot at the bar. Stools were comfortable, hooks for your jacket/bag/purse, plugs to charge your phone under the bar. Staff were nice and friendly.
I've got to say, they didn't disappoint with the food, which is no surprise because the Beast restaurant was top shelf. My dark and stormy was made with Goslings (the way it's intended), delicious. We ordered the mushroom pizza and the pepperoni (12"), my friend ordered the kimchi olives. The pizza was perfect, thin crust, toppings were just right, crust was just the right amount, couldn't have asked for better.
One thing that caught my friend and I by surprise, there was no tip option on the debit terminal when we paid. We thought it was odd, we're always big on tipping, and so we asked the owner who was there about it. He explained to us how they are a "fair wage employer" so all of their staff make the same wage, from the dish washers, to the cooks, and the servers/bartenders, and guaranteed hours, all at a really great rate that surprised us. Well that was the first time either of us had encountered that and we thought it was amazing and hope that more employers take this route.
Five stars (+1 bonus for the fair wage).
Will recommend, will return.

Amazing experience at beast pizza … where to begin, the food was amazing, so amazing that I forgot to take photos of most of it. The pasta, beet appetizer, and mushroom pizza were awesome a the chef came and chatted with us before and helped us make our decisions. Staff were so friendly, if felt like we were old friends .. loved the ambiance as well, the restaurant was recently renovated but it had an old vibe. One of my favourite things was the gum ball machine where you pay 15 dollars and get some random drink/shot or possibly pitcher of beer… super great experience and can’t wait to go back! Also the surprise at the end where you don’t tip because the restaurant pays all their employees a living wage which was really refreshing to see and makes you aware of how much they take care of their staff!

Bone marrow with cheese was pretty but the pizza was mediocre at best.
Pepperoni was nothing special, probably same as Pizza Nova.
Pistachio with Burrata was decent however the cheese was a little hard.
Overall 6.2/10. It's one and done.

Our neighbourhood just upped it's pizza game when I didn't think our local pizza joints could get any better. Beast Pizza has probably the best pizza dough I've ever had chewy and full of tangy flavour. We stuck with the straight up basic pepperoni pizza and I have no perfect words to describe how good it was. My only thing is I wish they had a few more basic toppings.

Randomly dropped by for their $1.25 oyster deal. They were shucked perfectly! The bartender and server were super friendly and welcoming. Decent happy hour drinks too! Will definitely come back with friends to try the actual menu.

Good pizza and menu in general. My pizza came within 15 minutes but my wife's took 1 hour... Other pizzas for other tables were coming out... They told us the had to remake it, but it was already 45 minutes after I already finished mine.. it still took another 20 mins for her pizza... Anyways it has good menu but I'll think twice before going back.

Amazing food, great value. The portion size is great. The food is full of flavour. Overall a great place to eat. The music was also at the perfect volume to chat and listen.

If I could rate this place a 0 I would, terrible food and service.
The home fires were stale, pork belly was cooked wrong, the biscuits were so salty because they had used too much baking soda or baking powder. I would never ever go back, I don't recommend anyone to go here.

Excellently food, friendly service. We tried a bunch of the small plates, beef cheeks, pork hocks, crispy pigs ear salad, Brussels sprouts and beets, as well as the fried chicken sandwiches. The maple one was the big winner, but all were indeed very good. I also had a dark and stormy with their house made ginger beer, it was wonderfully potent. Everything was delicious. Dessert was plate licking good too. Would 100% go back.

Was lucky to get seated right away, but waited one hour for my eggs Benedict. I’m not sure this is typical for them since it was my only time there, but I thought the waitress could have been a little more attentive. The food was pretty good though and the place is cute.

I had the Huevos Rancheros and my wife had the eggs benny with avocado, both were to die for!!!! Coffee was some of the best I've had and finished it off with a maple bacon donut.

I took my Father here for an early Father's day meal. We waited 30mins for a seat during their brunch. While our hostess was friendly our waitress was curt, unaccommodating & downright rude. When my Father asked her to repeat the specials because it was loud saying he had missed them, she rolled her eyes at him (a 65 yr old man) and only repeated one of the 4, & not a lick louder. My Mother asked if there was a butter alternative and was told "they aren't going to walk downstairs to get oil just for you." - She has a lot of food restrictions & was simply asking if there was an alternative. We get that kitchens can't always do special orders & we chose your restaurant to taste YOUR food, not just ask for alternatives so why did she have to make her feel like shit for even asking, very politely? We constantly had to bother other wait staff for items she had forgotten to bring us. After a 30min wait our food arrived near cold. The meal was lacklustre with overcooked, limp & dry items dominating our plates. Another waitress took over our table mid way and we received much better service. Disappointing after such a long wait but we thank the friendly hostess who tried very hard to salvage our experience. Had our service been better we might have been convinced to come back & try again as other food reviews had been quite good.
Nobody expects anyone to be perfect but when it is your job to provide at the very minimum cordial service let alone friendly, DO YOUR JOB. It takes so little effort to be kind, even on a bad day. I was a server, I get when people are dicks, ask you ridiculous shit, make your job a living hell especially during a busy brunch. My Dad didn't do that to this girl, neither did my Mom.

Where to even begin...the food is out of this world, the prices are excellent, the service is great and the atmosphere is casual, yet sophisticated. Can't wait to visit again when we're back in town!!

Loved the fried gnocchi poutine.
A little too much adobo sauce on my huevos rancheros but that's just my palate not liking heavy spices! The crispy tortilla underneath my food made me wonder in awe how something can maintain its crispness for so long with so much sauce on top!

Summary: disappointing and not worth the $$
I heard great things about Beast so came here with my family for my birthday and was so disappointed. I booked the whole animal dinner 2 months in advance but the food seemed like it was just thrown together as we were going along. When my mom has 5 min to make dinner she throws together this dumpling soup that you might have borrowed the recipe from? In any case, we kept waiting for something yummy but it never came and it was definitely not even close to being worth the $500+ we paid, even when we weren’t charged for 3 drinks. Especially since for only $25 more per person we could have had the meal of a lifetime at Alo. I only wish I had been warned before we came.

One of the best meals of my life. Hidden treasures like this should be enjoyed for what they are, great food and the great folks who serve it. If you are visiting Toronto, Beast is a must! We were fortunate enough to be treated to the 6 course wild boar dinner! Each course better than the last! A true culinary expireience!

Beast is simply amazing, we can't wait to come back. Sensational food, fantastic location and great service. My one complaint, and it's minor one, serve regular coffee. It's all fun and fancy to serve French Press and specialty teas, but some (most) would prefer just a delicious refillable cup of joe. Your food is the best in Toronto, $16 for 4 small cups of coffee was a little forced and sad.
