The pho, first one in the menu was amazing. And lot of soya bean sprouts! Also you must try deep fried spring rolls! The Real Best Pho, i love it.
Absolutely love this place. Service is incredible and I loved the ambiance in there. All the windows around the restaurant is nice for people who like looking out into the city while eating good good food.
They serve a lot of different kinds of food but I simply ordered the pho and the rolls. Bot of them were good, but they’re not spectacular. It’s more of a place where you would eat regularly.
This restaurant provides the typical Vietnamese staples at a highly visible Chinatown location. The food is exactly what you’d expect in terms of flavor and quality, nothing stand out, and at reasonable prices. The large rare beef and beef ball pho was too much for me to finish. The restaurant always seems bustling and busy, with staff churning through customers and food at a rapid pace so you won’t have to wait long if there’s a line. At our table the vermicelli came out within minutes of being ordered, but for pho we had to wait a bit longer. The service is a bit lacking, but commensurate with the demand.
Best pho in Toronto!!!!!!! I’d give it a 5 if the service was a little better. But the soup is the best I have ever had in my life. I go all the time with my girlfriend
Love this place, Pho is amazing and the Vietnamese grill broiled pork rice plate is amazing, really brought me back to my childhood! The portion size is on the large size and one portion would definitely fill you up. I go here everytime I'm in Toronto, you need to give this place a try if you're around the area.
The place is open all day and is fast and cheap. The menu offer's a long list of Vietnamese plates. The employee's service are standard. A good choice if you are in the zone.

This is a regular pho place. Good place for a hangover lunch because the large bowls are massive. You could literally split one between three regular sized humans. Nothing too special about it, just your classic pho
Occupying a big bright corner space, Pho Hung is a great place for big steaming bowls of pho. There's a whole page dedicated to vegetarian options which is really nice to see! The veggie pho came with a simple flavoursome broth and a good amount of veggies & tofu. The drip coffee is strong and aromatic, worth trying the Vietnamese style with condensed milk and ice.
As manager for my engineering team, we often hire co-op students on 16 month terms at my workplace. We were interview a bunch of potential students (3rd year students) at University of Toronto (UT). For lunch visit, my colleague and I decided to revisit my favorite pho restaurant in Chinatown that I frequented often during my undergraduate years at UT. This will be the first time writing about Pho Hung on my food blog.
This is a totally gem downtown! I have returned to this place two times in a single week...and that barely happens.
Everything I have tried here is super good
I ordered a grilled pork chop, which was on top of rice and fried onions, with a steamed quiche and a fried egg. It was so flavourful and I ate everything in a matter of minutes.
Their pho is also super good.
Pho Hung is usually packed and I understand why. Even with the volume of customers they have, the food comes so quickly.
The place is cash only and the waitstaff vary from nice to just plain dry, but Pho Hung is a total gem.
Smooth pho noodle texture, fresh basil and bean sprouts, nice pieces of beef. I've been there at least twice and tried other pho places but when I really crave for pho, I would always go to this place. Great price for the amazing beef phos.
I love this place. I've gone back many times over many years and the quality and flavour has stayed consistent. I just love this place. Made me fall in love with Vietnamese cuisine.
Food was excellent! This will be my new go to spot. The service was a little bit slow, but it wasnt too bad.. The resturant is pretty big!!!
every time I passed by, there are bunch of people. my uncle told me that this restaurant opened for at least 15 years. the beef pho is very yummy especially the soup with coriander in it. The price is also fairy enough.
Always delicious, dont know if im partial just because im always here during a massive hangover or when feeling out of sorts. Never fails to make me feel better. Pho is always a right choice. Service can be improved.
This was my first bowl of Pho and it was delicious. The place is always busy. Like every restaurant in Chinatown do not expect attentive service. It's very much get you in, seated and order quickly with minimal fuss. In fact they will just drop the order docket on your table and you fill out what you want. The food comes quickly and is delicious. It is also very cheap considering how much you get and how filling it is. I suggest adding a few drops of Sriracha sauce to your bowl. Makes a huge difference!
I like the pho here because I think it's a bit different from other places. I ordered a small bowl of Pho and they gave a generous amount of beef. My friend had bun rieu which she really enjoyed. It gets busy here at lunch so be prepared to wait a bit. This would be my go to choice for Pho in spadina.
The best pho in the city. Even start TO chef Lee eats here. Other than the pho (noodles with beef in meat broth), they have very good vermicelli with beef and vietnamese spring rolls.
Don't pho-get to visit this place!
After reading all the positive reviews I couldn't wait to try it out. The pho was well balanced of noodles and meat (not fat) and the soup was flavourful! I also ordered the goi cuon and banh cuon. These are standards and I'm happy to see they used the authentic pork skin -although it was misleading for my friend to read shredded pork and thought it was referring to the meat being shredded. Very good price and good food and not to mention clean restaurant (although I didn't check out the facilities). Highly recommended!
This is my favourite pho place! The service is quick and the food is authentic. The broth is perfect and I rarely have to "fix" it. It is also very clean here! 9/10
Great Food and Cheap Prices. We go to Pho Hung at least once a week for Rare Beef Pho, Vermicelli Bowls and crispy spring rolls. The portions for the price is really good value and the food is always fresh and comes out of the kitchen pretty fast.
The servers are pretty invisible/mutes. As a regular we're used to the waiters seating you and leaving a pad for you to jot down your order without saying much of anything - it's just how they roll. Tip: If you put your pad and menu's on the side of the table the waiter will know your done, race by and grab it as they whiz around.
My father and I came here for a quick meal, I got the curried chicken and pork with rice meal while he got the pho Thai dish. Super quick, huge portions and perfect price for students on a budget. The service is a little off but this place is always packed with people so it makes sense.
Pho sho as good as Vancouvo!. Friend frequents this place regularly and recommended we eat here when I suggested having pho. Have a good basis for comparison coming from Vancouver, and this place certainly doesn't lose out. The price is right, the amount of meat they give is right, the soup flavour is right, and the size of the bowl is right. And most importantly, their durian shake was very generously portioned for it's price! God I love durian shakes...
Anyways, nothing much else to say here. Come for cheap but tasty eats, especially good for late dinners.

Overall: 3.5/5
Good Cheap Eats. Really delicious, great value food. Don't expect any dialogue from the wait staff, but once you've had the massive portion of food, none of that really matters!
Good Pho restaurant!. Finally got to eat here today.
Ordered the #1 which is the house Pho, and the curry chicken with rice and spring rolls.
The pho soup stock is delicious! Probably one of the better ones I have had in the GTA.
My wife and kids enjoyed the curry chicken rice.
We will return for sure!
Excellent Pho . But THIS location only. Restaurant on bloor was NO good
Best Pho in T-dot O. The atmosphere is well suited to the intention of the place. Service is prompt if not terribly personable. Prices are cheap, portions are good and food is great. I've gone again and again.
The best pho place in the area. The pho and rice dishes are done very well. Good quality and portions. Service sucks (which is typical of most places of this kind) but the price and food are right.
Great Pho. I've only had the Pho Ga so far, but it is amazing. Very inexpensive. The small size is plenty enough for a meal. I like the complimentary tea.
The place has a nice authentic atmosphere. The staff are nice without being overbearing.
Great Vietnamese place. Very clean bathrooms.
Very good selection (maybe a bit too much choice) of food, always decent prices. The shakes are great, mango and strawberry are amazing! Service is very matter-of-fact and not exactly warm, but I don't go there to chat with the staff. Always steady-to-busy.
Good Pho sho. ..Sorry about the title.
Good, tasty, cheap pho in the heart of downtown. What more can you ask for? The wait is never long at the door even on very busy nights.
Less greasy than a couple other pho places on Spadina and the service is usually very reasonable (by Asian standards).
Best pho in the GTA. Everything tastes like made from scratch with only the freshest ingredients, including the sprouts and greens.
Great Pho!. I love this place, the pho is fantastic but so are the other dishes. I am curious if anyone has tried the 15$ pigeon on their menu though...
This place is so well priced that I am always shocked to see my bill so low, a great place to bring a first pho-timer!
(This place is also much better then the other location on Bloor).
Pho Hung is one of the biggest and best Vietnamese restaurants in Toronto. It is one of those places that you keep coming back to, week after week. I have been eating Pho for almost 7 years now and have been to just about every Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto.
I just ate here again after not eating here for almost a decade and it's as good as it's always been. I started eating at Pho Hung 30 years ago when they were actually a few doors north and it's still one of the best places in the city for pho.
The minute we walked in the door, I was assaulted by familiar smells and I almost wept with happiness and nostalgia. Not even having to read the menu, I ordered myself a small rare beef pho and a cafe su da for The Kid. I went over the menu quickly to recommend a number of dishes that I knew he would like when it happened:
"I'm going to try #37"
#37 was just called BÁNH XÈO or "Vietnamese Pancake with Shrimp and Pork"
Honestly, that could be just about anything. Is it a crepe? Is it a pancake? Is it more like an omelet? the whole shrimp and pork thing could mean anything.
It ended up being this giant, almost crispy omelet like thing stuffed with a ridiculous amount of bean sprouts, shrimp and pork and served with tons of fresh mint, lettuce and pickled vegetables. He couldn't finish it all because it was huge but he liked it and said he would eat it again but would prefer to order it as something to share so that he could have something else too.
My pho was fragrant, perfectly salty, the beef was tender and rare and there were just enough rice noodles - I actually hate it when there is more noodle than soup and the proportions here are perfect for me. Service is brusque and efficient, food comes quickly, the restaurant is on a bright, sunny corner but it's nothing fancy and its' not the place to want to linger over a leisurely lunch, so keep that in mind.
Great place for a quick bite!!! My favorite dish is the pork vermicelli noodles with some cold spring rolls on the side (the cold spring rolls are AMAZING). Very quick service, good food and lots of window light :)
Awesome food!!! I am lucky because this place is close to my office, and this is a every economic and healthy solution for my weekdays. Their Pho is truly good! Snappy service is a must during weekdays, thank guys for a great service! Thumbs up to Pho Hung!
Hot spot for pho in the downtown area. I would go back there time and time again just for the spicy chicken wings. They were sublime. Highly recommended
Crowded and fast service. Cheap and average tasting Pho. I went to this place on a whim with my brother who had never tried Pho before. Not a bad introduction but not the best. Our server was very patient with explaining vegetarian options to me. We were starving by the time we ate and demolished our bowls. But after I was very uncomfortable the whole day. Not the best experience after.

One of the best pho restaurants in the city. Spicy fried chicken wings are an absolute must if you go here! Authentic Vietnamese food and fairly priced. :)
Pho Hung has one of the best Vietnamese Pho in downtown Toronto with its fresh herbs and medium rare tender beef slices and who can forget that rich broth of soup. The restaurant is always crowded during lunchtime and dinnertime so do come early to avoid disappointment. I ordered a XL rare beef pho that was such a huge portion that made me really full. Also, the iced Vietnamese coffee is amazing when mixed with condensed milk.
Best Pho in town, hands down! Expect to wait a bit, this place is always packed. I went with No. 2, the classic with thinly cut raw meat. Be sure to add extra basil and a dash or three of the red Sriracha sauce! The Vietnamese coffee is also delicious, slowly dripped to perfection. A no frills experience - #partyinyourmouth.
