I have been to Maha's, many, many times - probably more times than my wallet prefers but I can't resist as I live so close by, luckily. Without hesitation, I can say the food at Maha's is the most delicious, most honest food I have ever eaten. The food - and I have eaten most of the menu by now - is made with a deep care and integrity for the ingredients, their freshness, and their flavour. Despite the line ups and the long days that must be so tiring, Maha and her family, and their staff, always deliver such delicious and wholesome food, day after day, meal after meal. Never once have I not deeply enjoyed a single item I have ordered or tasted. I have always been treated with respect, kindness and friendliness. I have recommended Maha's to so many of my friends, all of whom have enjoyed both the food and the experience. This kind of place is a rarity - a place where people actually care about the food, the ingredients, the flavour, and the experience of eating itself. I think you can actually taste that they do this for love. Run, don't walk. I look forward to many (many) more meals.
The food here blew my mind!!! Truly, truly a taste of Egypt. Coming from Ottawa i didn’t think there was anything this authentic. But it was almost like i was trying all my favorite Egyptian food, gourmet style! The restaurant was adorable, the staff was friendly, and Maha and her family could not be more courteous! Wish we had a Maha’s in Ottawa, cant wait to come back
Great food, friendly staff, highly recommend :)
Hands down, my favourite restaurant in the city! Any chance I get, I go to Maha's. There are so many yummy food options and all of the staff are really kind. Also the art and decor is beautiful.
One of the reasons why Maha's is the best is because when my Mum and I first dined there, Maha came out from the kitchen to just visit with us. I felt right at home!
Sometimes the wait can be frustrating but it is always worth it! A tip is to not show up during peak meal hours.
We have been wanting to go to Maha's for a while... but being based in the Niagara region, we needed to plan a trip to Toronto first.. Last Sunday was finally THE day!
First, I would like to commend Maha on the great attention to detail that is evident in every inch of the place.. Everything had been carefully selected to reflect an "Authentic Egyptian" experience, from wall art to plates, from cushion covers to oriental lamps, loved the whole ambience...oh, and the background music of Abdel Halim songs - simply awesome !!
We were ready to order & Mark (the owner's son), a genuinely warm & friendly youngman, gave us his recommendations! The food was simply Excellent! Five Stars from us!
Before leaving, we even had the pleasure of greeting Maha & her family! Thank you guys for your excellent hospitality.. We are very proud of you & we will definitely be back again :)
Rania - & the gang!
Busy place, yet it feels unrushed. Excellent ambience and food. Get ready for about a hour wait, but you can go inside and order a cardamom latte for your wait. Very enjoyable brunch experience.
By far one of the best meals I've had in a long time! I had "Maha's Mind Blowing Chicken"....such unique and delicious flavours! Couldn't stop thinking about it for at least two weeks and must go back for more. The woman serving us was beyond helpful and friendly as was the wonderful woman who owns the restaurant and spent time talking to us after our meal. Will definitely return!
I really enjoyed my first visit. I had grilled cheese sandwich and home fries. Also cardomon honey latte. It was very delicious. I will have to try everything on the menu.
Fantastic service and exceptional food. Their lentil soup is the best I've every had. The lattes are made with love, and I spoiled myself to the "Max".
Great food and great service. We had to wait 45 min.to be seated which was ok considering it's a small cosy restaurant. Katherine was as always friendly and pleasant, this time we tried Egyptian Falafel!! Amazing! we also had Sunny egg and foole and Pharaoh'sPO Boy sandwich. Loved every single dish. Will go back again and again and again:)
Incredible authentic Egyptian food from the restaurant.. Recommend the mouth watering Chicken dish to order.
Arrived at 8:15 and was promptly seated as the wait staff was available. The Honey-Cardamom Latte was delicious. I had the Max sandwich. The Falaffel was a bit salty. The hummus was amazing! Service was mediocre.
Amy (@carbs.and.cocktails) invited me for brunch on the east side and I was totally in! Once she realized I could not say no to brunch, she suggested going during the week. Weekday brunch? Is that a thing? I would soon find out!. On a Friday afternoon, we played hooky from work and made our way to Maha's. She warned me that there was always a line and they don't take reservations. I mean, a line up on a Friday afternoon for brunch? Really? REALLY. Weekday brunch IS a thing.
This little gem, located at 226 Greenwood Ave Toronto is as good as it gets. We tried the Basturma scramble, lentil soup and the Cairo classic. All three dishes were authentic and superb. The black tea with mint was also a highlight to the meal. All orders are made from fresh ingredients. Definitely worth several more trips here for brunch. The staff were all courteous and very helpful with our selections. Yummy!!
We went today, long queue but Service is excellent and quick, polite and friendly people. Prices are fair, food is really good and tasty. Highly recommended
Good food and great atmosphere! Had to wait about half an hour outside in line before we were invited inside but it was well worth it. The food was great. The portion of food was big and staff was very friendly!
As soon as I saw the line of about 20 people, I questioned whether we should stay. But, there’s little choice in the area and we decided to wait a bit to see how quickly the line moves. The turnover gradually happens and after waiting for 45 minutes we’re stuck… we’re waiting for the long haul. When I finally walked through the door and the heavenly aromas enveloped me … I knew it was worth the perseverance.
You didn’t wait so long for traditional brunch plates like omelettes, eggs benny, and pancakes. Glancing at the menu, the first dish - the Cairo classic ($16) – already promised a meal of exotic items. The classic is a plate of foole (creamy fava beans stewed with tomatoes, onions, and spices) that’s topped with boiled egg slices, tomato feta, and a light falafel. It’s a lovely messy dish as you try to squish as much of the beans and other items into the soft fluffy toasted balady bread. Then when everything’s about to burst, you bite into it to find an eruption of flavours and textures.
Then add some of the tangy crispy balady salad to the mix and all the flavours change - the acid of the cold pickled vegetables cutting through the hot thick foole. Just be warned, family style dining at Maha’s is a must as there’s so many things to try and dishes are rich, so it’d be too heavy to have one thing on its own.
The Egyptian falafel ($16) is akin to the Scotch egg where soft boiled eggs are encapsulated in a crispy falafel. What an inventive dish! Biting into the golden brown sphere, I’m greeted with a combination of creamy yolk, moist spiced chickpea, and a bit of crispy coating. The eggs sit on a pile of
Lovely And cosy Egyptian restaurant! If you’re in the area and looking for a traditional breakfast pass by for sure! Their options are only Egyptian but did I mention their bread? It’s exactly how it is in Egypt! Family owned restaurant, but keep in mind the lines and they don’t take reservations! Quick things

Nice restaurant! The place is small but with really nice ambient, you feel like being somewhere else rather than Toronto.
Does it worth the 45min-1 hour waiting? Just once! Im not disappointed but I wouldn’t repeat it. The service is kind of slow, the food is too salty, especially the sunny egg with feelo.
The lentil soup and maha’s blowing mind chicken are really good though.
Small restaurant but nicely decorated. Definitely not worth standing in line for. I tried the maha's mind blowing chicken- tastes like chicken shawarma mixed up with parsley. Had the shaksuka egg omelette with tomatoes nothing really special. My favourite would be the Egyptian falafel because never tried that anywhere. It's boiled eggs wrapped in falafel! Had the cinnamon cardamon and thought it was too bitter for me. Had desert maybe they should add a speciality like hot kenefe instead of all ready prepared pastry.
The most memorable dish here was the date grilled cheese! It is absolutely amazing and just thinking about it is making me drool! To eat here you need to line up before the rush, 9am is ideal or else it gets ridiculously busy...expect to wait for 3 hours in line if you want to eat at Mahas around noon
Completely worth the 45min wait in line. Coffee is topped off with skilled latte art, the constructing the Cairo classic dish is a fun experience and the beef liver is packed with flavour. There's also a takeaway option if waiting in line is not your jam.
After all of the IG pics that I have seen on my feed I finally got the chance to try this place and it definitely doesn't disappoint.
Had their mind blowing chicken sandwich that definitely live up to its name. It's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and paired it with a honey latte which was also good.
Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu!!!!
My bro Olive lives in the East End in Toronto at Greenwood. I love that hood. All the war time houses, all the bars, the nice little bakeries, and then, there's Maha's. Maha's is an Egyptian resto that is always busy. ALWAYS. We went on a week day at 8h30am so we got to sit as soon as we got in. Yay! My bro and his wifey swear by it; pretty much any time they can go, they go. With reason. The place itself is very quaint (ya, I can use fancy words), with knick knacks placed here and there. I loved the eye of the pharaoh right when you walk in. Guys, they are WATCHING US. There's about 20 seats in this very cozy and comfy place. It was a tad on the cold side for me, but hey, that's f*ckin' winter for ya!
This space is small and quaint, with about only 25 seats and a notorious wait time.
We arrived at 11:55am, and were told they would put on names down and to call back in an hour to see where we were in the lineup of eager brunch eaters. Conveniently, Brickyard Grounds is another coffee shop/breakfast joint just down the street, so we headed there to start the day with coffee, lattes, caesars, beers, etc to pass the time (they also have a large menu if you want a pre-Maha’s snack depending on how hungry you are. An hour later we called, and were told to give it 30 more minutes so we did. 12:25pm rolls around and we return to Maha’s, where we then waited about 20 more minutes before being seated. With two hours committed to waiting, we were ready to eat. We ordered their honey cardamom latte alongside their mint and lemon infused water. Their coffee beverages are all hand-crafted, so although you may have to wait a few minutes for them to arrive, it’s worth it. Note that although they have a pretty good caffeinated beverage spread (minus alcohol as they aren’t licensed) they don’t make their Turkish coffees on the weekends due to how busy it is.The Chef's Appetizer Platter spread is the perfect taste of everything for first-timers. It comes with two types of mini pita to dip in babaganoush, hummus, seasoned garlic tomatoes, falafel, roasted eggplant & red pepper, Egyptian cheese, foole (smushed fava beans mixed with tomatoes & onions), beet salad, and mixed olives. We also hope you like fresh parsley, because it’s on more or less everything.
Everything on their menu sounds amazing, so picking was no easy feat. We settled with trying the Pharaoh’s Po Boy, Maha’s Mind Blowing Chicken and the Date Grilled Cheese. Note their food comes out as its ready, so you’ll have to start eating at different times depending on the size of your party. The date grilled cheese that comes with their cumin home fries (or salad or soup if you’re sticking on the healthy side. Inside the perfectly grilled egg bread you’ll find dates that have been drizzled with honey to make this grilled cheese the perfect combination of salty and sweet. It also comes with a chiptole-esque aioli for dipping.
The Po Boy comes split in two, so is perfect to share. It comes with a generous serving of battered shrimp and a subtle mayo-like tehina sauce that compliments it perfectly. The chicken sandwich (don’t try to pick it up) is a more than generous serving of chicken, tomatoes, onions and yet more parsley, a combo that tastes a lot like brushetta. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs when we ordered an appetizer and three mains between the two of us, so this is one we had to pack up for later. At this point, our brunch adventure had now lasted a total of four hours. Word to the wise: if you’re braving this hotspot, don’t have plans for the rest of the day.
If this place wasn’t busy enough, it should be noted they don’t have late night hours which makes it a bit more difficult to squeeze in a seat. They close at 7pm weeknights (yes, even on Friday) and at 5pm Saturdays and Sundays. They are closed altogether on Wednesdays. That said, be prepared to wait and brainstorm ways to entertain yourselves while you wait for a table. Recommendation: Do not bring grumpy boyfriends who hate waiting in line here.
Reso policy: No resos. May the force be with you.
Bill: The most expensive main on the menu is $12 & some as low as $7 if you skip the fries. Since we ordered all the things, we were looking at $20 plus tip each which is pretty reasonable given the amount of food we consumed.
Would we go back? With a consistent 1-2 hour wait time, we’ll pass, but it is definitely worth going once. If you’re in the neighbourhood they do take out (select menu items) – a good way to get your fix in if you’re not into waiting in line.
Maha’s Fine Egyptian Cuisine is an amazing spot for Egyptian brunch located east of the downtown core.
We were lucky to be seated after a half hour wait compared to the usual wait time of over an hour on the weekends. I liked how decorated the place is and the windows allow plenty of natural lighting into this cozy restaurant. Since the space is pretty small, we were asked to share a table with another party of two.
Maha’s Mind Blowing Chicken ($10) is absolutely delicious. We really were mind blown with everything between the buns! The chicken is really juicy and tasted so good tossed with Maha’s sacred marinade. Yummm! The egg buns were soft, slightly sweet and yellow on the inside (sort of reminds of some of the buns found in Asian bakeries). I highly recommend ordering this dish.
Cairo Classic ($12) is a traditional breakfast that consist of flava beans, tomatos, onion, egg, falafel, and creamy homemade tomato feta. The charred balady bread it came with is really good. There is also a side of salad. I always try to order at least one traditional dish when I go to ethnic restaurants! This dish doesn’t look as appealing at first glance but I was pleasantly surprised with the mixture of flavours when I had my first bite. J really enjoyed this dish, even more than the Maha’s Mind Blowing Chicken sandwich.
It was our first time at an Egyptian restaurant, and definitely will not be the last. If you’ve never been to one, and feeling for something different from the usual eggs benny and pancakes, I suggest checking out Maha’s Fine Egyptian Cuisine!
We thought we made a great choice in choosing a brunch spot that weekend since we both really enjoyed the food. Mmmm. The only thing we regretted was not getting the Turkish coffee, which we will come back for!
Food is Good! Wait times not so much.
Prices have also Increased
We decided to check this place out on a weekend, my friends love the food so took us here. Be prepared to wait.
11:30am arrival, told there is 1hr and 15min wait
12:20pm arrived back and waited another 20 mins for table
12:50pm: ordered appetizers and food
1:33pm: Appetizers arrived
1:50pm: Got main course
Ambiance/Decor:
Very small space limited tight seating. They have pictures all over the walls. With the space being small it sometimes feels claustrophobic with all the pics and furniture. Its a tight fit. You can see the kitchen as it is right behind the cashier. Since it is small you can feel the heat from the kitchen in the summer. There is outside seating available. There are 2 bathroom!
Staff:
Friendly, almost feel bad for them as they are sweating buckets. Because they are so busy they miss your request often for items etc.
Food:
They bring you cold water (mint or regular)
Flafel $4: You get 2 pieces on a bread of lettuce with Tahini sauce. They were really tasty and definetly fresh but they are smaller pieces.
Bread:$1 for a mini bread (very small bread)
Watermelon salad:$9 For that price you'd think you get a little bit more. Portion are small but salad is definitely delicious (only available during summer)
Cumin potato: delicious but it's mostly the sauce that make them delicious
Chicken Sadwich:$10 huge portion, the chicken is spilling out the sandwich. It was really good. This is the best thing ever. I crave it all the time!!
Kebdah Liver in Pita: this was delicious too
The food is good no doubt. The atmosphere is great too. You feel like your just at someone's house in a foreign country eating food.
This review is just a warning that expect to wait awhile for food!! Also if really busy and limited seating expect to share a table with stranger. I didn't mind but some people certainly do.
A short haiku review from me to you. Hope you enjoy it!

Homey, family.
Fresh, tasty food, friendly smiles.
Try the lattes too!

Have been hearing amazing things about this place. We came here at around 1:00PM and waited until 2:20PM to be seated.. waited another 30 ish minutes before our order arrived >_> I understand that this is a small and busy place but the service could have been a lot more efficient. Food was great and flavorful but some items (hummus specifically) were a little too oily. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try but I would avoid going here on a weekend unless you have 3 hours to waste.
We had been hearing how great this place is for a while, and came earlier in the week for lunch, only to find an hour wait, so we left. Today we lucked out and only had to wait 30 minutes :) This is a small place, and check your fast pace at the door, because Maha's works on their own relaxed time. This is a GOOD thing. The menu is varied, and they serve food from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and apparently, it is always busy. I chose the grilled cheese with dates, and OH MY, was it amazing! Came with cumin potatoes, also excellent. My husband had the MAX, a bread full of lots of good things, all very fresh. This is an awesome find, with superb food and a casual atmosphere. We will return!
Came here on an early weekday morning to avoid the line-ups and the crowds. A small joint with big windows that made it feel like you stepped into Maha's home. We were welcomed by the owner herself, along with what looked like her son. I also heard her daughter works in the kitchen. This is what you call a family-run resto. Firstly, me and my partner started off with the cardamom latte and it was quite unique. Never had anything like it and I loved it! Eager to eat my first Egyptian dish, I ordered the Cairo Classic and my partner ordered the mind-blowing chicken sandwich. We also order the cumin home fries to share. The portions were huge and the flavors were so different from anything we've had before. The dishes tasted fresh and the experience itself was a truly out-of-this-world. I would recommend this place to anyone who has an adventurous palate. Try it out!
No words to describe how great the food here was ! We had the Egyptian Falafel and the Mind Blowing Chicken Sandwich with the Babaghanouj and Balady bread to start. Perfect balance of flavours for a weekend brunch. Totally worth the wait!
Maha's, a restaurant I had never heard of until recently when I started seeing posts of their "Mind blowing chicken sandwich" on instagram. As I researched more about their restaurant and menu, I realized how delicious their food looked.
We went to Maha's during lunch time which was not the best time as they don't have many tables and all of the seats were full. We had to wait 45 minutes for a seat (we stayed because we desperately wanted to try their delicious looking food). Once seated, you could tell the restaurant itself was quite small. It had a homely feel to it. There were paintings up on the wall that were for sale. The tables were quite close together as well. The waitress gave us water as we looked through the menu. The staff were extremely friendly.
We decided to try the Shrimp P.O. Boy in a Pita and the Mind Blowing Chicken Sandwich. It took about 30 minutes for our food to be made. Let's be honest, the chicken sandwich did not look as big as it did in all of those pictures I saw of it. Infact, we expected it to be something large enough for two people judging by the images. It turned out to be pretty small. Portion sizes here seem a bit small. Yet, the flavours were amazing. the PO boy sandwich was my favourite. The crispy shrimp with a drizzle of some sort of tangy sauce with a side of their hot sauce was amazing. I just wish their portions were a bit bigger.
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant since the food and prices weren't too bad. The atmosphere may not be everyone's cup of tea but you can always do take out!
Maha's (@mahasbrunch) is an Egyptian brunch spot that I have been meaning to visit for a while but was discourage a few time when I saw the line up outside, this past weekend with the extra hour we finally went. No reservation but we waited for around 30-40 mins for a table of 2 at around 11am Sunday, a very reasonable wait time but be warned that the space is rather small, so I won't recommend for party of more than 4 people.
This is a truly great Egyptian breakfast cuisine. The ambiance and music is very authentic. The service was very friendly and flexible. I asked for the cairo special and it was everything that my mom used to put for our family on the breakfast table, i have requested as well the batenjan that is offer in the menu as a sandwich, i requested if i can get it as a side dish, for which the chef made me a very yummy and well presented dish ( see pictures). I scored 4, i would have scored 5 if i didn't wait 45 minutes to get my food which is a bit on the long wait side specially with 2 other tables arriving after me and receiving their order before.
Waited an hour to get a table on the weekend but the brunch was well worth the wait. The menu has the classic Egyptian dishes and they were authentic. The felafel are a must-try. Every food item tasted great, but portions were quite small for the price. Downside about this place is the wait time and that the staff don't seem to know Egyptian cuisine well enough to make recommendations.
Amazing food ! Great vibe .. Must try the Egyptian tea they offer along with the Cairo classic ! Best for brunch on a Saturday morning !
This place was such a nice surprise and a place we will definitely return to.
The only downside here is that the place is super small and gets crowded so you will wait.
The food options are plentiful and all delicious with something for everyone. We liked the egg dishes, eggplant, sausage, appetizers, soup etc. It was all good and the people that work there and own the place are great :)
Highly recommend for brunch! Too bad they don't have a more central location.
If you are looking for a unique brunch spot that serves delicious, hearty dishes, then this is the place to try. Egyptian breakfasts are such a delightful change from the standard brunch cuisine. I had the Cairo Classic, and I really liked the homemade pita and crispy falafel that came with it. I had a bite of my friend's plate of cumin home fries and they were nicely spiced. The honey-cardamom latte was divine, but I was disappointed that they couldn't serve us turkish coffee when it's busy. Unfortunately, I'll likely never get to try it here because I'll only ever be able to come on a weekend (when it's busy). Other than that, the staff was friendly and the vibe was great.
Loved it. Was delicious and so so fresh. The bread was actually to die for! Falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Was super hot though.
The food here is great! It's nice to have something different for brunch.
I had the Sunny Eggs Foole and my dining partner had the Cairo classic. Both were great, if a little heavy for a hot summers day.
My only criticisms are that its so hot in there (do not sit next to the window, on the raised part, if you can avoid it) and it does take a while to get your food.
Really looking forward to coming back on a cold winters day - it will hit the spot for sure!
Best hazelnut latte in t dot, must try. Cairo breakfast is refreshing, something different for brunch on sats.
No ac so come prepared for it. Pita bread homemade, must try. Most dishes a bit salty, because you have to dip pita bread to balance flavors. Recommended.

Last night was Food Share's 6th annual Recipe for Change at the St Lawrence Market and boy, was it a great night. 30 local chefs, a couple of breweries, some wine, amazing silent auctions and the chance to eat your face off for the greater good. Someone tweeted something like "eat the change that you want to be" in regards to this event, which made me jealous because I didn't think of it first. I will write about the event and about all of the amazing things that Food Share does for the city, as well as telling you all of the ways that you can still contribute, either with your time or your money or both.
I recently checked out Maha's after hearing a lot of neighbourhood buzz about the resto. This was also my first time having Egyptian food. I have a side of the pickled eggplant and the classic cairo breakfast. The food is very well seasoned and so flavourful. The flavours are unique, definitely different than what I was used to, a mix of salty, sweet and savoury. The bread is wonderful, you can tell the food is homemade. Service is attentive and friendly. The restaurant is small and there is often a lineup. The decor is simple but inviting.
This is a small but charming Egyptian brunch place in Little India. The wait was a bit long, about 35 min, but the food was worth it. They don't take reservations so you may inevitably have to wait given the small size of the restaurant, but their food is delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Sunny eggs & foole w/Turkish coffee.
Food is very good!!! The place is small but lots of light. It is pretty full with locals as of 11am. I think that says a lot. The Turkish coffee is delicious & I could have 3. Yummy smells wafting from the kitchen...Egyption music in the background...I will be back

Maha's is in my neighborhood and I've been seeing a lot of good reviews so I had to check it out. Got here at 9:15 on a Sunday morning and it was already full since the place was quite small. I was told it would be a 15-20 min wait for a table of 2. I ended up waiting 15 min which is not bad. Groups that came later waited longer.
I ordered the cairo classic and my friend had the sunny eggs and foole. It took about 25-30 min for the food to arrive. When the dishes came, both of our dishes looked very similar with mine having hard boiled eggs and hers with sunny side up. I enjoyed my dish though it was very filling. There was a lot of beans which reminded me of having chili. My dish also had a falafel which we both enjoyed.
We also ordered the honey-cardamom latte. This had an interesting flavour. You can taste the cardamom but it wasn't overwhelming spiced. My first few sips didn't have a lot of sweetness as the honey stayed near the bottom of my cup, making the last few sips very sweet.
I have never had Egyptian cuisine before. Overall it was an enjoyable brunch but do be prepared to wait if you come on a weekend.
Very busy on a Sunday afternoon.... But worth the wait. Very tasty, fresh easy to eat food. Tried the Cairo classic and the basturma Classic on a recommendation from the waiter. Will be back for sure to try the sandwiches. Would have been nice to have been offered a small nibble at the table after waiting an hour for a table... My only complaint.
I have been looking for a place like this for a while now. The authenticity sets this place apart from any other middle eastern restaurant you might have eaten at and add to that eating a meal that tastes like it was made by your mom. I'm definitely coming back.
Delicious Egyptian fare. Vegetarian friendly. Love the hints of exotic spices used. Their honey and cardamom latte had just the right amount of flavour. The lentil soup was smooth and flavourful and the Cairo classic with fava beans, hard boiled eggs and falafel was simply delicious.
Their Egyptian Falafel lunch was great! Will be back for sure!
I went to Maha's this past Sunday for brunch. It is a quaint little Egyptian place and there was a small line up out the door. The service was a little slow because of the volume but the food was wonderful. Really enjoyed the cardamon latte, hummus, falafel (one of the best I've had) and basturma scramble.
If you would like to expand your culinary horizons and try out Egyptian cooking and flavors in a small and very intimate mom and pop location, then you should venture towards Maha's in the quiet residential section of Leslieville.
Everything is made fresh to order led by Chef Maha of course together with members of her family.
The Chef's Appetizer Platter seen on one of the pics is a sample of key side items that you can also order. All very flavorful and different to other similar dishes that I have had in the past.
The Pharaoh's Po'Boy is one of the most popular items on the menu. You can add a salad or fries with cumin if you wish but I took it straight to really focus on the wonderful taste.
The falafel were unique in that lots of greens were used such as lots of parsley with a lovely dash of tehina sauce.
If you love eggs like I do then do try the Egyptian Falafel which is a falafel casing around a soft-boiled egg. I wish I could have another as I write this. Now you have a better alternative for brunch in Toronto. The son is an artist when it comes to prepare a lovely latte.
There always seems to be soup on the menu. If you are vegetarian or vegan, I think that you will be happy with the possibilities as well as the care taken to prepare your selection.
There is a maximum seating of about 25 so be aware of the busy times. It is worth the wait if need be.
Maha's is ttc accessible with either the Gerard streetcar or the bus coming down from Greenwood station.
In the end, you will enjoy lovely delicacies that try to be authentic thanks to Maha's friendly family waiting for you.
