Jimmy's sets the standard for excellent coffees served by dedicated staff in interesting locales such as this one in the heart of Kensington Market. Both sweet and savoury snacks are on offer such as the delicious butter tarts as well as sandwiches. Jimmy's never disapoints.
Always friendly staff willing to explain the menu to even the most ignorant coffee 'aficionado'. The coffee is always on-point and the patio in the back where stoners used to hangout when it was originally the hotbox cafe has been transformed into a beautiful refuge in the heart of Kensington.
Good option for coffee in the Kensington area - the espresso based drinks are reliable and the vibe is chill, though the service can be slow and unfriendly.
This is a busy spot for a cuppa coffee because it tastes so good! The medium-bodied gets a thumbs up. The vibe is true to the neighbourhood, and there's a little patio out back to sip your java al fresco.
This place was the only cafe I could find in Kensington that wasn't cash only. The coffee was okay but they have cups with yellow lids and lots of seating space. It seems like a nice place for some alone time with a good book.
I just dropped in for a cup of coffee after having an outstanding crepe at Millie's just down the street. This place has many different types of coffee including espresso, latte, and iced ones. I just ordered the regular brewed coffee ($1.75). I helped myself to two scoops of brown sugar and some cream. The aroma was attractive and the taste was bold inviting you to take a few more sips. I could still feel the caffeine in my system after a few hours. There were many people there chatting, reading, and on their laptops. They have an indoor cafe as well as an outdoor patio. The patio even has electrical outlets to recharge your devices as well as your body.
Just got a fresh brew here. Forget about Starbucks and go to Jimmy's if you can. Great coffee and cool atmosphere. This is a hip indie coffee house for sure.
A very hip atmosphere hidden in Kensington market. I had fresh squeezed orange juice and a single espresso. The espresso was good but I wasn't completely blown away by it. It's definitely a spot I'll go again though.
Neat Place. Jimmy's coffee is a rather trendy place in Kensington. The place has a rather large patio in the back which is great for dates, study groups and just plain chillin'.
I had a latte, which was served in a glass (see pic). I thought it was rather bizarre as the drink was hot and I could barely touch the glass as it wasn't heat resistant. Noticed all other patrons to be having difficulty with the same thing. Other than almost burning my hand...the drink was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
When I go back...will not order a hot drink unless they change their cups :).
I had a vanilla latte from this place. It was creamy, velvety but a little too sweet. I will come back and try something new. I couldn't really sit and enjoy my latte because it really busy (no available seats).
Tucked away in between a Middle Eastern and an Italian pasta shop, Jimmy's coffee in Kensington Market makes an unlikely establishment with its timber panelled porch and benches that are very welcoming. Beyond that, you're treated to a hip and easy going atmosphere to while away those idyllic afternoon. The fragrant aroma of freshly roasted coffee speaks a lot to the quality of this local joint.
While strolling in Kensington Market, I happened upon this fine coffee shop. The place is quite large and inviting. Service was very friendly and my hot chocolate was well prepared.
This Jimmy's location is awesome. Aside from being inside the coolest market in town (Kensington), the space they've created is absolutely wonderful. The interior is homey and quite particular. Each and every table / chair was thoughtfully imagined and carefully pieced together. And on top of it, they boast a marvelous interior patio! The staff is wonderful (as coffee folk typically tend to be). And their coffee is delicious. Thanks for creating such a unique experience Jimmy's :-)

Back in February, my cousin came back from Montreal to visit. We wanted to have some quality time together so we decided to explore Toronto. Our original plan was to hit up a cafe on Queen St. However, we stumbled upon Jimmy's Coffee when we were going through Kensington Market. We decided to try it out instead because of convenience and I heard some good reviews about it.
Jimmy's Coffee has portraits of all the famous people with the name Jimmy (or variation of it), such as Jim Carrey, Jimmy Fallon, Jimi Hendrix, etc. The owner is a fan of classic rock and Jimi Hendrix, hence the inspiration for the cafe. I thought it was an interesting concept to base a cafe off of celebrities.
The place was full when we arrived and we definitely saw how popular it was. Despite it being full, it was a quaint place, especially at the back of the cafe. They also have a backyard patio for the warmer weather. The cafe sells coffee beans from Classic Gourmet that are repackaged and made specifically for Jimmy's Coffee. Overall, it's a neat coffee shop in Kensington, great for those who loves the original location on King West
I love Jimmy’s Coffee. This is my favourite location. Great drinks, great ambiance! The large patio is nice for sitting and enjoying the warm weather.
My hubby and I went to the Jimmy’s in Kensington Market the day right after Boxing Day. We really appreciated it was open early morning when most of businesses around were closed due to the holiday. The waiter was wearing a mask and asked us to show our IDs and vaccination passports. He was courteous and the coffee was very good. We enjoyed staying at the coffee shop for a while as tables were set with the due distance in Covid times.
Such a cozy place in the middle of Kensington Market. The place is a hipster paradise lol. I don't drink coffee but my spouse that had one told me it's good.
Good times at Jimmy's coffee.
Calm atmosphere, excellent background music, nice waiters and indeed, a lot of Jimmy's :)
The coffee is fantastic and the setting indoors is very welcoming. One of the best coffee places in Toronto.
Great spot to stop in and get away from the hustle and bustle of Kensington Market. The courtyard out back is well appointed with benches, tables, chairs and a splash of greenery. It's quiet and sheltered from the wind while also being open aired and sunny. I had a small bottle of cold pressed beet juice for around $8 after tip.
Great location for this coffee shop which has many locations in Toronto. They have a great back patio and interesting seating inside. The staff is talented and experienced - not a coffee drinker, but the London Fog was awesome!
Excellent service and smooth flat white! Had the opportunity to sit down and have a cup with the peach cobbler muffin. The ambience itself is pretty chill with a bookshelf and classics played on the radio. Highly recommend! ☺️
