Everything was amazing! We ordered the prime rib platter with the split lobster for 2. Our food was perfect and I am extremely snobby when it comes to food. Our waiter was polite and courteous and on point with knowing when we needed something without being over bearing. This place far surpasses the Keg in terms of quality.
I have made the drive from Guelph for my birthday for about 5 years now. I love this restaurant! My steak last night melt in my mouth, like butter. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like good food.
Love it every time we go! Fabulous food, I've never been disappointed. Their Caesar salad is perfect, prime rib platter, roast beef dip, steaks, mussels...and their amazing hot bread to start it all off. The service is always on point, this week Brittany was the best. She heard us wish happy birthday to one gal and went behind her, winked and signaled she would be back and came back with a piece of cake & candle! Often the manager has been by to ask us if we're satisfied. They're very attentive to their clients' experience. You have to go.
My friends and I went for dinner celebrating my birthday, excellent service. Our server came right away as we were seated and introduced herself. Food was very good. Would recommend this restaurant.

Is now at the top of my list for a steakhouse! Service was amazing and level of class is excellent. Staff are all so welcoming and helpful, plus the manager personally greets all tables and make sure the food is flawless!
We have been three times and never have been disappointed. Example...forgot to request no dressing on the salad. Instead of sending it back, I ate some of it. When I was done, the waitress (wish I remembered her name) asked if it was ok. I said yes but told her about MY mistake regarding the dressing. A few minutes later, the assistant manager was adamant that he wanted to make it right so brought another salad without dressing. Another example was as we were paying, there was another table celebrating a birthday. I laughed because we were there for my birthday but didn't say anything, besides, I already had dessert. Before we left the waitress came back to the table, with their customary birthday brownie in a take home container and a small bowl of whipped cream on top of the container with a candle sticking in it, so I could make a wish. This kind of customer service is rare these days and it was a great treat to experience it here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I've been there twice now and both times I was quite impressed with the food and service. My steak was cooked to perfection, and the waitress made sure to check on us regularly without being overbearing. I would highly recommend the Smith Brothers Steakhouse Tavern and will be going back soon.

Indeed, the prime rib platter ($35) arrived looking just like the pictures I’ve seen. A behemoth 12oz slab of medium rare beef with just a small drizzle of au jus placed on when it arrives so that it doesn’t completely cook through the meat while transporting the dish. Don’t worry, a generous ladle arrives on the side so that there’s plenty of salty beef sauce for dipping prime rib or Yorkshire pudding into. The pudding, although has a lovely taste, was a bit too hard.
Smith Bros. also has a selection of 28-day aged steaks. The seafood sirloin ($35) looks much smaller than the prime rib, but since it’s a rather lean cut (less wastage) and topped with a rich poached lobster and shrimp in brandy cream sauce, it’s a rather rich, so being smaller doesn’t hurt. It’s served with a choice of potato (fries, garlic mashed potatoes, or baked potato). Their fries even makes the shoestring variety seem fat - it’s sort of like a softer and thicker Hickory Stick. While I would have preferred them thicker, it’s not too bad.
While all the mains arrive with starches, there’s nothing green and healthy, so an order of the seasonal vegetable for two ($8) helps to balance the meal. It’s nothing fancy: large hunks of broccoli with little done in terms of preparation other than steaming.
Smith Bros. Steakhouse follows a similar model to the Keg – spacious restaurant, serves hot fresh bread, and has warm and friendly service. Except you’re able to make reservations on weekends without
Smith Bros. never disappoints, the service and food are both amazing! We look forward to going and being seated with our favorite server Brittney. The prime rib is so tender and juicy. The rib eye steak is the best around according to my daughter. The steak is perfectly cooked and the peppercorn sauce her favorite. The berry cheesecake is so creamy and tasteful. The brownie is a chocolate lovers dream and the vanilla creme brûlée pure heaven. If we could this would be the place to go to every weekend. Perfection at its very best!
Decided to check this place out and I didn’t even know this existed in Scarborough! I definitely like the Match stock fries they are so addictive and they give you fresh bread which was so good. Good place for good food.
Smith Brothers Steakhouse Tavern is, of course, known for their steaks! We wanted to try somewhere new that isn’t The Keg or Canyon Creek. We made a reservation but still had to wait a little bit as they had a party on the table and they were trying to usher the table out. Not sure how they managed to ‘usher the table out’, but we managed to sit within 15 minutes, though it was still slightly after our reservation time. Throughout the entire process, the hostess and manager kept us updated regarding the situation.
First time coming here for lunch with a couple of co-workers and, we all found the food to be quite good.
I had the "Avocado Ranch Burger" with "Garlic Mashed Potatoes" and I have no complaints. The burger was perfectly cooked and the mashed was nicely balanced (not too soft, not too dry, not to garlicky).
I also tried their "All Natural Premium Red" beer which resembled to "Rickard's Red" and I enjoyed with the meal.
The portions were satisfactory, the prices were reasonable and, the staff was friendly and diligent and provided good recommendations.
So far, I would say that this may not be the BEST Steakhouse that I have ever been to but, it's definitely a place to come back for a casual meal and try other choices.

Great Steaks!! First time here. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile.
I had the New York Strip Med Rare with Mashed potatoes with garlic. Ceasar salad. New York was cooked a perfect med rare, juicy and hot, great grill flavour. They allow you to pick a side sauce to go with it, I chose the pepper corn sauce, I tried it once, and it was great, but the steak was so good, I didn't have any more sauce with the steak. The Ceasar was fresh cold and nice hint of lemon with the dressing, which was perfect, and not overpowering. A small loaf of hot round White bread. With salted butter. The staff was all young, but well trained.
Really great for a very good price. Very relaxed ambiance. The General Manager was in the restaurant checking customers to make sure the experience was good. Just the right amount, he cared about the customer experience. Nice touch.
It is a new restaurant owened by the same group that owns Champs, and I have to say I was surprised, I thought it was an independent restaurant. Everyone seemed competent, and cared about what they were doing, and the food was very good!! I would have expected to pay more for that kind of flavour.
I will be going back!
Decent steak joint in the area. Prime rib is my favourite, huge portions and much better in my opinion than Keg or some other chains. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.
Good alternative to the keg. Their prime rib is excellent. I love the hose salad it's more like a Cobb salad. Wasn't too impressed with the burger but it's a steak house not a burger joint.

I was here last night for drinks and apps with a friend. We came at 830 and were promptly seated in the bar area told we would have to wait 40 minutes for a table. We ordered drinks while we waited I had Pommies on draft, a light refreshing cider. My friend had smith bros red ale, which she said tasted exactly like rickards red. To our surprise we were seated within 10 minutes. We took our time ordering and the server was very patient. We ordered the guacamole, which is mixed right at the table with fresh ingredients, the guacamole was great! It was served with warm tortilla chips that were also very yummy. We also ordered the chicken dumpling, we got about 8 dumplings, many more then expected! The dumplings were also good served with two sauces that were both great. Our server was very attentive always filling our glasses until the end of our night when went it took us a good 15/20 mins to find our server and get our bill. I would definitely go back. I have heard great things about the creme brûlée so that's on my list for next time!

I came here because I got sucked into drinking F&M Stone Hammer beer and their dale ale was on their feature tap for $7. Stone Hammer dark ale was sooooo delicious!!! The feature tap menu looked good with a good selection of local craft beers. I was tempted to try the half yards (which is 2 pints) but afraid it was too tall and difficult to drink from. Anyone ordered a half yards before please let me know it was!
Moved on to our main entrees, our steaks were tender and the portions were huge. Definitely a restaurant with great steak without costing you an arm and a leg like some other fancy steakhouses.
I ordered the Prime Rib Platter ($32). What a traditional and classic way to have prime rib dinner! The prime rib was cooked perfectly medium rare and was tender and juicy. The yorkshire pudding was soft and warm from the oven. It tasted really good drizzled with au jus. The cream mased potatoes were smooth. 12oz. of prime rib was way too much food for me.
Friend had a Rib-Eye Steak with Peppercorn Cream ($34). The rib eye steak was aged well and was flavourful.
Service:
Service was wonderful. Had a good conversation with our waitress and she had a good humour to go with our meal.
Carnivores and beer drinkers out there: here's a perfect restaurant to enjoy a good pint (or a half yards) of local craft and devour a good steak.
Great place with nice ambience and very good service! Had been here for a team lunch and must say the waiter did an awesome job. The food was good with sufficient portions. Would definitely come back as this is one of the best options available in the neighborhood!
PS: The place is ideal for team outings.

Situated in the heart of Scarborough, Smith Bros. Is located at Warden and Eglinton. I've been there 2 times and on both occasions, the food was excellent and the service was very good! The atmosphere is very relaxed and venue is casual dining. I had the roast beef platter one time and the other time the strip loin. Both done just the way I love - which is medium rare!! I personally think that is the only way to really enjoy steak. The beef is full of flavor! Very yummy! 👍I also really like the option they provide to add a salad/soup and a dessert to the meal to make it a 3 course meal, on a small sub charge. It really completes the meal in my opinion. I opted for the house salad each time. The crisp salad, chopped egg and bacon with slight drizzle of ranch dressing is definitely my choice! However, my friend told me her squash soup was also very tasty and hardy. I had cheese cake as the dessert option the first time and the second time I chose the ice cream. I really enjoyed the ice cream more. It was very creamy, so full of flavor as I believe they make it in house.
I also think their service is very good. The waitresses are very attentive, warm and very observant to their customers. What I also found as a very nice gesture is that each time I went, a member of the management team came by to ask how our meal was. This is a very good way to connect with your customers and gain direct feedback of any possible areas of opportunity that may exist. In short, a great place for steak! Nice atmosphere. Great staff and service. Nice menu with lots of options for meal customization. Ordered the New York Strip Complete which means it came with salad or soup and a dessert. Steak was really flavorful but had a bit of chewy tendon in the middle. House salad and mashed potatoes were tasty. Would go back if in the area.
We had dinner here for the first time and were really blown away. The atmosphere is casual, but we had dressed up for fun and didn't feel out of place. Service was attentive and our server, Rovon, really made an effort to make us feel welcome when we said it was our first visit.
Food came out very quickly and was absolutely delicious. I had a New York strip with baked potato and peppercorn cream sauce. My husband had the prime rib with mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. We split the sizzling mushrooms for two. Everything was cooked perfectly. Meat was hot and tender. The mushrooms are SO good! The manager also came by to welcome us and make sure all was well.
We were absolutely stuffed, but Rovon came by with a complimentary dessert in honour of our first visit. I'm allergic to nuts so I couldn't eat the brownie, and he whisked it away and replaced it with a berry cheesecake that came with with such a delicious sauce, we practically licked the plate. Can't wait to return.
For a standalone steakhouse in Scarborough, I expected Smith Bros to be more of homey, hole in the wall type restaurant. Instead, the restaurant was more Jack Astors, The Keg, located next to a Boston Pizza. The interior was dark with lots of wood and leather. A lounge, bar, waiting area was open for diners to grab a drink before while waiting for their table. We didn’t have a reservation and was seated within 10 minutes. Diners ranged from families celebrating birthdays to couples on dates, and the dress code varied as much.
Alright. Food is not bad, pricing is ok for the quality of food. Service was great.
Open minded. I have read the reviews about this place and am open to trying it out. Despite the criticisms by "Logtec" that the servers did not meet his needs for a " glutton " allergy. According to reviewer "Dianne" her "gluten " allergy requests were satisfied and she was pleased with her dining experience. I have never heard of a " glutton" allergy and I don't fault the restaurant for being perplexed by " Logtec's " request. Glutton vs. gluten, I see the humour in this nevertheless.
Great place. Doesn't seem like many people know about this place right beside Boston pizza. The service is friendly and speedy. The food is priced pretty fairly.. Steak was done well.. Very tender and the side salad did not disappoint.. Would recommend this place for sure
Went tonight for dinner and was very impressed. From the second we walked in we were greeted and were seated in the booth. Service was very good and attentative. Questions regarding the menu was answered properly and professionally. Steak was cooked perfected to what was ordered. Good price, good food, no complaints. I would definately recommend this place to all my friends

Loved IT!!!. We Loved it!!! Scarborough has so very few decent places to eat, I really don't understand the bashing. Mother Tuckers now that deserved some horrid reviews, but not Smith Bros.
We decided to go on a Saturday evening for our 1st visit. I had purchased a gift certificate for my Husband for Christmas. It was busy, so we sat at a long table in the bar area to have a drink and wait for our turn. It is large and open concept and the noise does travel, but most restaurants open concept now. We shared the Tavern Sampler. Our waitress took the time to explain the different choices and seemed very knowledgeable about the different types. It was a great opportunity to try some varieties of beer, in small servings. We shared Vegetarian Spring Rolls. It was only about 20 minutes wait and out table was ready.
I have to caution taking reviews to heart about steak or beef from anyone that orders it Well Done!!!, and murders any flavor the beef may have had!
I had the Prime Rib with Yorkshire pudding and garlic and cream mashed potatoes. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and came medium rare just as ordered. My husband had the Filet Mignon also perfectly prepared medium rare. He loved the all the choices of potatoes. Our server was very good, without hovering over our table. The wine selection also contains my favourite wine. Portions were very generous so needless to say no room for desert. We had a wonderful dinner and looking forward to going back again very soon. We are very grateful Smith Bros opened in our neighbourhood and it will be our go to spot from now on.
Now we have 3 standby's Diana's (Seafood) The Arkadia House (Greek) and Smith Bros, with no need to drive downtown, or to the Danforth. :o) Now if someone can open a real pizza restaurant and drive the Pizza pizza's and Domino's out of business I'll be a very happy person!
Fantastic Steakhouse-tender steak. Ask for Brittany!! She was our perfect waitress.She explained the items,gave us water and was very patient with me.She also kept asking how things were. She cared. I ordered the Ribeye Complete.Which was an appetizer,main course and dessert. The Chowder was delicious. The steak was moist and very tender.My plate was filled. Half of the plate was the steak,1/4 of plate was the mashed potatoes and 1/4 was yorkshire pudding and gravy.TheTriple Chocolate Brownie was good. I left full. I will come back again for dinner.
Awesome Food, awesome service. We went to this new steakhouse skeptical as there seems to be no restaurant that has been able to maintain in this location. We were blown away by the service (Skyler) and the food was divine. I was particularly impressed by the owners? Or managers as I watched them check every plate to make sure it was being presented to the customer correctly. That in itself was worth it! The pricing is medium but the ambience is terrific. We are going back tonight. Welcome to Scarborough, Smith Bros.! We've been waiting for you!
First Rate. We were 4 this past weekend and looking to try something new...that's why Smith Bros.. Safe to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Weren't sure what to expect, but decided to give it a go.
Tried a couple of the appetizers, shanghai chicken dumplings and firecracker shrimp. They were great tasting and fun to share. Lots for the four of us. We ordered a filet, new York steak, prime rib and chicken marsala. The steaks were first rate, prime rib excellent and the chicken marsala was grilled chicken breast with a beautiful marsala mushroom sauce.
Our server was very good and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice...kind of rich feeling, but not too dark.
Overall a very good experience. Well be back.
I've been hearing about smith brothers for the past 3 weeks now and I drive by the venue all the time. Last night my girlfriend and I made a reservation and I'm glad we did. The ambiance is pretty great - welcoming and alive. The open concept kitchen was pretty cool too. Service was great (Amanda was out server) and the steaks were damn good as well. We had the prime rib and sirloin and at that price point, you can't go wrong. Beers were fantastic. We both had a sampler and were very pleased. Overall, I'd go again. It was nice to see a full house last night.

I visited for the first time on a special occasion with a friend. The place is tucked away in the Eglinton Corners. Although I'm not a big fan of wet-aged beef, I must say my whole experience at this restaurant was terrific. Smith Bros boasts about their beef and beer - and the restaurant's set-up and atmosphere makes it perfect for one to enjoy such combination. I do strongly recommend a reservation as the place gets very busy on weekends (and OpenTable points, right?). Everything about this place is casual: the music is casual, the seating is casual, staffs are casual (and friendly), and you certainly will feel casual. If you tend to have the usual 3-course, then the Complete (prix fix) is definitely for you. I had their prime rib, and it was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the taste though... not as "beef-y" as some other restaurants' prime rib. And on the other hand, my housemate was obsessed with the mashed potatoes. And of course, their beer, they have a nice selection of lagers and ales, and my Muskoka Cream Ale was heavenly. They also offer any 4 taps for $7, a great deal for those who wants some tasting. Oh, one last thing, I really liked their cheesecake.
At Smith Brothers, the setting is casual, the servers are attentive, the price is very reasonable, the food portions are generous and best of all, the food is tasty. Their menu offers a “complete” option which includes soup/salad, entree + side and dessert. I've been here for dinner multiple times and I always opt for the striploin complete dinner. It has always been cooked to my liking. Their Caesar salad is dressed just right (it needed bacon bits though). The matchstick fries is my favourite side option. What stands out in this menu is the sauce for the steak. They have a choice of 4 different sauces and my go-to is the mushroom cabernet. Their berry cheesecake is pretty good, not the best, but that won't keep me from going back. I look forward to my next meal there!
Good pricing and portion sizes. You do get what you paid for so don't expect the same steak quality from a fancy steakhouse. Comfortable seating and friendly service. They also have various prix fixe and weekday specials. Would recommend for a more casual steakhouse dining experience. Also, their cheesecake is way too soft, my preference is more traditional firmer cheesecake. Their smoothie is very good and worth the price!
Good value for portion (ordered 3-course menu), decent taste food, good service and ambience. We were a large party, it was very well accommodated. But overall, large selection of menu. It’s a great place for a group party. Special recommendation on the dark chocolate pudding for dessert.

We had a birthday reservation and were greeted immediately at the door. The gentleman led us to a very spacious both for four in the centre of the restaurant. There was a beautiful chandelier and we could see right into the open concept kitchen. Everything was very eye appealing.
Our server came and took our drink and appetizer orders. We sat very comfortably at the table as we were served freshly baked bread, whipped butter, our wine and appetizers (mussels and spinach and artichoke fondue with chips).
The mussels were served in a beer based white sauce that was very tasty. You could really taste the beer, quite different than your average mussels.
The spinach and artichoke fondue was mixed tableside and the chips were freshly made. The portion was very generous.
Next our party ordered the complete prime rib, rib-eye and N.Y. Sirloin. The prime rib was served a perfect medium rare, juicy and flavorful. The rib-eye was thick, juicy and very soft. The N.Y. was the perfect texture.
Let me tell you, their house salad was the best house salad I have ever had (not your typical head lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber mix). It had bacon, mixed greens, radicchio and egg with a dijon dressing. A very large portion, I might add.
We did encounter one issue where our rib-eye was over cooked. The manager immediately came over and offered to have a new once cooked to our liking. We did feel bad to send our meal back but the manager insisted with a smile.
After our meals, the birthday girl was presented with a candle-lit brownie cake which was the perfect amount for us to share.
When the bill came, we noticed that they had taken $20 off our bill. What a nice surprise.
We were overall very pleased with the quality of food, service and ambiance. We will definitely visit again.

Food was superb, steaks were done to order with perfect char. However the service could be much improved. There was long wait at the front even when we had reservation. Later on our waiter had to be reminded of bringing is bread, water and steak knives as the meal went on. Not as professional as the previous times we had been here
What can be said about the place? It's a chain stake house. It's pretty good, the steaks we're good size and we'll priced for the quantity and quality that you get. The decor is very nice and there is almost no wait to sit down which is great - even with a large party.
Came for prime rib on new year's eve, which was wonderful, but the stand out of the night was the casual but awesome experience.
Wanted to come try their prime rib for a long time and ended up coming on new year's eve due to last minute plan change. Order the prime rib medium rare and it came not over done, and we also got a banana split with 3 scoops that 3 people shared.
The service was goldilocks. Answered my daughter's questions, and suggested switching dessert to banana split. I had such a good time that I felt good about leaving a nice tip.
The firecracker shrimp was outstsnding. The batter was suburb and the sweet spicy sauce was delicious. The Depth of flavour was remarkable. Got the Complete. The musroom soup and beef and potato were filled with a tremendous amount of flavour. Unfortunately the ribeye steak wasn't the best but the entire experience was good. The ambiance was nice and seating was very comfortable and spacious.
