I visited on Sunday with a friend. We reserved ahead of time because we were hoping for a table at the windows.
They were able to accommodate us with a table right at the window so we had wonderful views while we enjoyed our excellent dim sum. This is my favorite dim sum place in Toronto hands down!
The Pearl is justifiably famous for their Hockey pucks which are my favorite. But don't overlook humbler dishes like the turnip cake and sticky rice which I feel they do better than anybody else.
We had the mango pudding (in the shape of hello kitty which I adore) and the black sesame balls to finish. Both dishes were fresh and delightful.
The service could be a bit more attentive. But on a busy Sunday I understand the demands on the staff. And the dim sum is so excellent I would still prefer to dine here than anywhere else.
Wonderful food, and if you can get near the windows, a great view over the harbour. The joint is hopping on the weekends, so make a reservation to avoid line ups.
Great food, spectacular view and good service
Love the service and the views! Excellent food. This time, I happenchanced on the vegetarian goose. Musky BBQ glace. Amazing!
Superb service. Great atmosphere. Amazing food ! It’s a must go authentic Chinese restaurant !
This is definitely a great dim sum option in Toronto. It is clean and has a nice view. If you've eaten at a lot of dim sum joints, you'll know that it is not always clean. The options are a little limited compared to some other places but there were still plenty of options. I loved the scallop dishes they had, especially the scalloped taro with a hint of curry.
Pricey, but the best in downtown.

Best dim sum in Toronto. I have been going here for over 20 years and the service and quality is always amazing.
Great service with a smile! Good food with how to! Great ambiance among the busy service
Best dim sum restaurant in town!! Quality food with friendly staff!
Definitely a go for some nice dimsums and wine . Getting a table next to the window is a plus. Everybody wants to enjoy the lake view.
地方正服务态度好特别厨房一流水平 very very yummy
Best Dim Sum in downtown Toronto!!
Our favourite place to go for Dim Sum. Comfortable restaurant with good service. Dim sum was excellent and food was plentiful.
Highly Recommended
I visited this place on a weekday for my lunch. The place is situated on the 1st floor of 207 Queens Quay West and has a really amazing view of the lake. The place has a really good ambience and serves the Chinese cuisine. Apart from the regular menu, they have Lunch Specials as well.
I went on to try their Spicy Eggplant dish. It was served with rice and a crispy spring roll. Although the dish wasn’t spicy to my taste palate (as being an Indian, I am used to much spicier food), but it tasted quite good. Also, I loved the fact that they made a special vegetarian roll for me because I couldn’t have their usual one which is given as part of lunch specials. So, I would say the service was really great. Overall, it was quite a good experience.
Pearl Harbourfront is a hidden gem in Toronto that serves not only delicious Chinese food, but amazing views as well! We started with crispy spring rolls vegetarian for $3.2 each, and vegetarian dumplings for 8$ - steaming hot and flavorful! For mains, the eggplant with spicy garlic sauce for $19 and vegetable fried rice for 18$ were a great combination - aptly spiced ! They also have a set menu that works great for non vegetarians as it is cheaper with more variety. Great place for a weekend lunch!
One of the few traditional dim sum restaurants left in Toronto that still offers cart service during brunch. It would be best to make a reservation especially if you want to sit at a table with a view of the beautiful and lively Toronto harbour.
Great food but a bit expensive...
This is located in the really picturesque area of Toronto Harbourfront on the 2nd Floor of the Queens Quay Terminal building. The dim sum is better quality than most cheaper dim sum places in Toronto. The restaurants is also decorated very nicely and you get a great view of the Toronto Harbourfront. Definitely pricier than most dim sum places but it is worth it if you are bringing friends and family from outside of Toronto. But the lower rating comes from the mediocre service we got. There were not many customers when we went as a group 10 during lunch but the waiters were very hard to flag down.
Working nearby, I come here often when I want a nicer lunch. Their Dim Sum is really good, and freshly prepared. The place is a bit more upscale and pricey than other dim sum joints in the city but it shows in the quality of the ingredients, plus service is friendly and the view is wonderful.
They also have great lunch specials (great for togo) starting at around 12$.
I came here recently because I was in the area with some of my Chinese friends and I remember this restaurant existed. It's been a long time since I've been here but to my surprise it still here and it was very busy. The real here is spectacular as you see Lake Ontario and people on the boardwalk as you eat your Chinese food. Service is very friendly and I did notice a lot of tourist in the restaurant as well.
Still one of the best in the city when it comes to Chinese and Dim Sum. Amazing views of Lake Ontario and the CN Tower provide an excellent backdrop for a memorable meal.
Dim Sum, served on the weekends is always a crowd pleaser, but it packs 'em in so come early. Moderately priced, but you do have an incredible view so in the end, it's worth it for special occasions or to 'wow' your out of town friends.
Parking (or rather the lack of affordable parking) is a sore point, but if you walk or come by transit, there is problem at all.
Great view, very fresh food. I know my dim sum quite well. The dumplings here were very fresh and hot. They had beef shiu mai which was a nice change. They had a good selection of dishes. Prices were standard. The view is gorgeous!! I would say overall that Dim Sum King on Dundas is better but this was still very good!
Pricey but Delicious. When it comes to dim sum in the Greater Toronto Area, there are a huge number of choices. Less so ones with a view Lake Ontario. The Pearl Harbourfront provides a nice view of the Toronto harbour while serving up uniformly delicious dim sum dishes with quick and attentive staff. This all comes with a price as the dim sum is quite expensive. I wouldn't make this place a regular haunt but for an occasional treat, I'll be back.
Pricey for Chinese food but the quality is good and you are paying for the lively view of te lake from the second floor.
Their specials are excellent.
Pricey but Great Business Lunch Spot. Although expensive for dimsum lunch, this is an ideal place for a business lunch or any lunch where you anticipate the need for discussions. The view of the harbour is a perfect backdrop for a meeting and the food is well prepared, presented and tastes great. Again, cost is a consideration but given the location and the quality, you'll be hard pressed to find something similar.
Yummy DIm Sum. I went there for dim sum a while ago the dishes were delicious and I especially enjoyed the view the survers were very polite and the food was inexpensive. My favourite was the bean curd rolls
Great Canadian Chinese Food. Pros:
- Great food
- Lemon Chicken, Garlic Shrimp, Beef and Broccoli, Dumplings
- Location, View
- Service is good for Chinese food place
Cons:
- Pricey
- Portion sizes seem to shrink every year although the quality seems to not have dropped. I suppose shrinking quantity beats shrinking quality.
- Expensive parking
We've been regulars at Pearl for years and eat about 2-3x per year. The food is excellent quality Canadian Chinese and you pay for it. It's a treat place and the food is rich enough that you don't need to eat it often. Portion sizes have shrunk in the last few years and they have dropped their "large" size portions both of which suck. Quality hasn't dropped.
Great dim sum, their hockey pucks are by far my favorite dim sum dish and the green beans are very tasty. I've also been there for dinner I love the service great restaurant
The green beans caused a fight at the table. :) Everything was tasty and reasonably priced. The view was great for my out of town guests. The plate of green beans was huge but we ended up all stabbing with our forks for the last few bites. I would return when in Toronto.
In my top 3. Of my top 3 dim sum places in T.O, this is definitely the most expensive.
Nice views but it can get crazy at peak hours.
Excellent choice for dim sum. Great food and a great view.
Excellent food and not greasy like the other critics. Although pricy for Chinese food, it is well worth the money.
Fabulous food. All your Chinese takeaway favourites, but done to high restaurant standards.
The restaurant has a gorgeous view overlooking the water and the large windows allow the sunlight to fill the dining room. I'm surprised the Pearl still has cart service as it seems to be nearly extinct these days.
In my not so humble opinion, the best dim sum in Toronto, bar none, can be found at Pearl Harbourfront, a light-filled second floor space with panoramic harbour views in the Queen’s Quay Terminal building on Toronto’s waterfront. (And what about the oft-t
This is an amazing Chinese restaurant in a unique waterfront location. Service is good and the quality of food is excellent. All of the dishes are freshly prepared.
I had the crispy honey chicken with sesame seeds, which was very good and filling. I was told that the stir-fried shrimp with garlic sauce was very tasty and we both enjoyed the fried rice. The food is authentic and not greasy at all. It is relatively expensive as main dishes start at $17.
The restaurant is very large and bright. Make sure you get a seat by the window, so that you can have a view of the lake while you dine.
This isn't your average, divey, clamarous yum cha joint. They've got white tablecloths, a view of the harbourfront and a price tag to match.
If you want to treat yourself, this is the place.
The Pearl is a great choice for weekday or weekend dim sum. It's fancier than most - they have table cloths and cart service. My favourites are the hockey pucks (fried shrimp and spinach dumplings) and the fried green beans. I also love their sauces - especially chili oil and vinegar. Bring them on. Plus, the view is beautiful.
Spectacular views of Lake Ontario so grab a window seat. A ton of very fresh and creative dim sum treats as well as a regular menu of Hong Kong specialties.
They have a really good waterfront view. Dim sum is average. They have traditional carts and I do not recommend any of their dim sum dishes that requires a “skin” such as Har Gow or Rice Noodles with Pork/Shrimp as those typically have thick layer of starchy skin which is not a good reflection about the quality of the food. However, the other dishes were more palatable and with the great waterfront view it’s sometimes hard to say no to dining at Pearl.
The thing that drew me to this place was the amazing view and the fresh dim sum! When we first arrived for lunch we were greeted and seated right away. The menu is small, however it took us awhile to pick because we weren’t sure about what exactly we were ordering despite there being descriptions. The menu is on a piece of paper and you circle what you would like to order. I also liked that they had small, medium, or large portions. However, I feel like pricing wise you’re just paying for the view.
Nice view of the water.
Nice interior.
Good service and food.
The dim sum seems expensive but it is good.
Green beans and squid legs are must get.
Egg tart was ok.
Nice place for a date.
Mission worthy No but place to check out if near by definitely.
Best Chinese in Toronto! Best crispy Peking duck their shrimp and chives pan fried dumplings amazing! Their steamed dumpling amazing everything was sooo good except for the shrimp toast didn’t care for how greasy it was even though it tasted great just too oily for my liking . LOBSTER was so tender and cooked to perfection
Delicious chinese food with Lake view, located at the 2nd floor of the Queen’s Quay Terminal, this authentic Chinese cuisine restaurant has been stood for 30 years. It is so spacious & great for large group occasions, while enjoying the meal with the tranquil vibe of the lake views. The restaurant is clean and provide great service as well.
Pictured:
*Seafood with Fish Maw Thick Soup - The soup is filled with seafood, scallops, shrimp, fish. It is so hearty
*Wok-fried Scallops with Maggi sauce - Love the wok aroma, a bit of crunch on the outer skin, while the center is perfectly cooked.
*Sweet Ginger Chicken - This is a good stir-fry, bursting with flavour from the pineapple and bell pepper, the chicken is tender as well.
*Braised Lobster in homemade sauce w E-Mein Noodle - So deliciouss!! The lobster is fresh and quality. this is a must order.
*Lychee Jelly
*Mango Pudding - don’t skip on ordering the cute Hello Kitty mango pudding for dessert
Went for a birthday lunch. Beautiful restaurant with a great view. Service was excellent. Food was good but prices were quite high, especially for Dim
Sum. It was good food but no better than other good Dim Sum places so really you’re paying for the view and pretty decor. That being said it wasn’t prohibitively expensive so I would go again for special occasions.
Amazing view and food!
They were super accommodating in helping us get a table early and next to the window.
Would come back again and try their order 1 day early items
A+ Dimsum, food was great.
Very flavourful and many options.
Fantastic views and impeccable service.
Quite enjoyable, I'd highly recommend this place.
This place is so delicious! The staff is so friendly and they are very efficient with maintaining a clean table for you. The view while having a delicious dinner makes it worth while. We had the chicken with pepper, ginger and pineapple and the seafood assorted combination with snow peas. So good! We also tried the hot and sour soup and shrimp and pork dumplings which was phenomenal. Definitely check this place out if you're near the harbour and want a nice dinner with a great view of the lake
